I tried this :

"Lets hope its not a hardware issue for now.

If maybe it is just software then that is called the "White Screen of Death" by many groups on the internet. These are sometimes caused by a software issue that can occur if you unplug your iPod from your computer when data transfer is occurring. They can also occur during sudden changes changes to the hardware. There are ways to fix it.

First attempt to reset the iPod (Center + Menu for 10 seconds), do this multiple times. If you get the Apple logo then you are done.

If not and your iPod is recognized in iTunes then you should attempt a restore. If it's not you may have to force it into Disk Mode (Center + Menu for 10 seconds, then Center + Play) in order to get you computer to recognize it, then reset it while it is still plugged in. If iTunes still recognizes it then restore. If not you should attempt to restore the iPod while it is in Disk Mode.

If none of this works then it's probably a hardware issue. Check the retention clip from the LCD ribbon cable. If that isn't the problem then I'd recommend you send your iPod into iPodMods and have them check it out for you. Worst case is that you may need a new $139 mainboard."

And you could be right.

Plus, it still doesn't do anything other than going white and black when I press Center + Play.

Aero, I know you're not supposed to drop it, I'm not Subrick, but I dropped it a few times before and it worked perfectly.

I searched around the net for it and it could be something ppl call the White Screen Of Death.

Whatever it is, I think I'm going to some store to get it fixed.

If it doesn't cost to much.

seriously tho, you drop things, phones, mp3 players, xboxes, etc they MAY survive, but they are not designed to be dropped and as such you have most likely physically DAMAGED its insides, most software faults will be caused when u put on a didgy file, disconnect it wrong from the computer etc, not when you drop it.

i'd say there is a 90% chance its broke inside, its slim and got a fucking hard drive in it

I'm not saying it couldn't be, 'cause I thought the same thing too.

But like you say, they may survive.

ur being too optomistic here.

Could be.

But I need that iPod.

I mean, besides my pc, it's my only source of music.

And I love music, so I hope the iPod isn't too fucked up.
