Thom Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 I couldn't crack mine at first. I remember having it for almost the whole 30 days, and never being able to crack it, but on the last day I just decided to try something that wasn't in the instructions. I forget what it was, but I remember it saying to replace a certain file in the instruction, that didn't work, so I tried something else. I think I may have just google'd a serial number, but I'm not sure exactly. Could you let me know if you remember how you did it for certain? Quote
Chillalex Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 I run Flash, Photoshop, and Dreamweaver all at once, and have no issues with speed at all. I run Photoshop, crazybump, 3DSMax and Unreal editor 3 all at once and have no issues with speed. my cock is infinitely bigger. In response to games on vista, yeah they run fine, but texture streaming is a little slower. I have to watch textures stream in when a level loads on any game, but after 2 seconds the games run fine so its not really an issue. DX10 is a load of crap though, its pretty unnecessary. Its great for me, because I can view my work with SSAO and all other fancy things, that an enduser really doesnt care about. Gears of war is good on PC, much nicer graphics, but there are a few issues (As there is with all PC games tbh) but its never anything a quick patch wont fix. Quote
Spectre Posted July 30, 2008 Author Posted July 30, 2008 Alex How is 3DSMax, i was thinking about getting it, is it good? Quote
Chillalex Posted July 30, 2008 Posted July 30, 2008 dont buy it fucking hideous program, seriously. I dont know why the industrys use it, its so horrendous. It'll crash randomly, fucking up your work. Autobackup doesnt always work; itll still manage to corrupt all your back ups. I had a case where I'd modelled something, MANUALLY SAVED COPIES, and then it crashed and I was just left with all files, unreadable. Apart from Max 2009, it comes with christ-awful export/import modules, which you have to download seperately (ones that arent even made by autodesk are superior) The rendering engine is retarded (the viewports), try using DX .fx materials in viewport and itll lag you the fuck down. The key layout is awful (youll need to swap hotkeys the moment you install it for anything resembling a good time). It has random xform problems, random UVW mapping problems (where itll suddenly set a vert so its not selectable, you have to reset all the W co-ords) and when modelling itll suddenly - hilariously - decide you cant do that to a vert, what are you talking about! Even though its visibly possible. Default rendering is bad, mental ray is admittedly good. The good? When youve spent days throwing in plug ins that you shouldnt have to, rewritten the keyboard map, got to grips with the omniprescent bugs, save religiously (I always EXPORT a model at stages; thats never fully fucked me up but you do loose selectable edge loops) then you get a package that at least gives you a professional basis And Sub-D modelling in it isnt that bad, neither is the stack and modifiers. In short: dont buy it. Quote
