Spectre Posted July 23, 2008 Author Posted July 23, 2008 yeh but Photoshop cost more, and knowing my luck ill probably break this comp while trying to download PS Quote
Thom Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 If you think Photoshop is good, you should try getting drivers for your keyboard. That shit is sweet. Quote
Spectre Posted July 24, 2008 Author Posted July 24, 2008 hmmm... Thom you have peaked my interest, Explain please. Quote
gambit Posted July 24, 2008 Posted July 24, 2008 If you think that computer is great, you should try a mac. you would be blown away. i have to say one thing, you are going to have alot of headaches running vista. Quote
Joe =/ Posted July 24, 2008 Posted July 24, 2008 So gambit, you've run a computer with Vista have you ? Quote
Jonny Posted July 24, 2008 Posted July 24, 2008 Ofcourse he hasn't. He's got his dick stuck in Apple. Quote

I run vista with boot camp on my mac, and never saw a problem with it other then not having a keygen to use anymore. Quote
Aero Posted July 24, 2008 Posted July 24, 2008 im in 2 minds at the min, tempted to either buid a new PC or just buy a mac, if i bought a mac i'd go for that 1 thats just a huge monitor with everything built into it. doing that tho, i would just run windows off it as im more familiar with it, obviously its the more expensive option but it'll probably be more reliable. Quote
Thom Posted July 24, 2008 Posted July 24, 2008 I planned on doing that, but my Macbook took up all of the disposable income from that months wages, so I planned on getting Bootcamp and Windows the next month. By the time I had more money I'd grown so accustom to Leopard that I haven't looked back since. The only downfall I've found is it's a bit trickier to organize all of your folders etc due to a lack of a "My Documents" folder which is as definitive as on Windows, but it's a small price to pay. I'm not being a dick-rider, but I can honestly say I wouldn't be able to go back to Windows without it having a detrimental effect on my blood pressure. Quote

I have the 24 inch. It's cute, and don't get any viruses at all. I use it for everything. Only main problem is, the gaming. There's not much available for it. Quote
scoot Posted July 24, 2008 Posted July 24, 2008 currently im running on a macbook, have been since November and im in the same boat as Thom, OS X just seems a lot more stable, a lot more flashy and just in general better than windows, its actually prompted me to install ubuntu along side my windows PC just because it feels closer to OS X than windows. probably because linux is based on unix and OS X is a unix OS... ah well, in short, a mac may well be a great choice if your going to use the OS Quote

There's not much available for it. meh, i'm not big into gaming etc on the computer, i use my sexbox and wee for that. to be honest i use the media aspect more of my PC, vids, music, odd bit of photoshopping then a bit of programming, mainly midlevel programming at that, so i dont need a big powerhouse, just something better at coping with more things at once Quote
Spectre Posted July 24, 2008 Author Posted July 24, 2008 gambit ive used a mac for classes, while its great i really dont need one, plus i do want to play games on it. Quote

Photoshop and such run great on the mac (for me at least). Since I've gotten it I have never once been frustrated with any loading times. I run Flash, Photoshop, and Dreamweaver all at once, and have no issues with speed at all. Quote
Thom Posted July 24, 2008 Posted July 24, 2008 I havent been able to use Photoshop since I got my Mac, as I don't know how to crack it =[ Quote
Niles Jansen The Third Posted July 25, 2008 Posted July 25, 2008 I couldn't crack mine at first. I remember having it for almost the whole 30 days, and never being able to crack it, but on the last day I just decided to try something that wasn't in the instructions. I forget what it was, but I remember it saying to replace a certain file in the instruction, that didn't work, so I tried something else. I think I may have just google'd a serial number, but I'm not sure exactly. Quote

Niles Jansen The Third Posted July 28, 2008 Posted July 28, 2008 (edited) I'm not going to lie and say I've used anything else. I had a computer that was really good, that I had had customarily put together. At the end of the day it was all a matter of bad mix and matching (power supply and such). I didn't have the straight up moola to go for another like it, get a good screen, exe, so I just got this all in one iMac. OS X (Mac OS) would seem shitty on a bad computer, just like the claims of Vista being shit depend on the computer. So at the end of the day, I won't say it really runs better then a proper windows PC running Vista - but for what it is, it's a great package. Edited July 28, 2008 by Google 'Himen' Quote
Spectre Posted July 28, 2008 Author Posted July 28, 2008 Do a lot of Games have problems running on vista? Quote
Niles Jansen The Third Posted July 28, 2008 Posted July 28, 2008 I ran Gears of War on Vista, through the mac, and it worked awesome. Quote
Spectre Posted July 28, 2008 Author Posted July 28, 2008 Oh shit i forgot about Gears of War. I think ill buy that, its good right? Quote
gambit Posted July 28, 2008 Posted July 28, 2008 gambit ive used a mac for classes, while its great i really dont need one, plus i do want to play games on it. ill be the first one to admit that if your going to be gaming on a computer, you should run windows, but windows xp. i have a pc with vista ultimate and that os is garbage, plus you cant dual boot. another thing that annoys the shit out of me about vista is that the things they claim are new are actually rip offs of features that have been on OS X for years before. but for me personally mac is the best bet for my money, and for what i use a computer for. but at the same time i NEVER play games on computers, i hate using a keyboard as a controller. i have a ps3 for that Quote
