CS Posted August 2, 2008 Posted August 2, 2008 I get it. Chris is Australian so CS makes a Crocodile Dundee quip, because HE TOO is Australian. Very funny. Thank god Ming understood it, I was a little worried he wouldn't. Quote
phil Posted August 2, 2008 Posted August 2, 2008 I'm siding with Jitz. TDK was fantastic. Eckhart was golden and was, in my opinion, on par with Ledger in terms of performance and truly showing the personality of his respective character (Dent / Two-Face). Quote
CanaMatt Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 holy shit wtf. TDK was the best movie I have seen in a LONG time. Much better than Iron Man, and much MUCH MUCH MUCH better than The Hulk. If you're like a huge fan of those characters i can see enjoying them, but as a film, I see nothing in any comic book movie thus far that even compares filmographically speaking to the Dark Knight. Aero Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 a mate hasnt seen it, he has no other friends, so he's dragging me along again but paying, i'll give this another chance but pretty sure batman and whats her face will still annoy me greatly. Quote
jitz Posted August 8, 2008 Author Posted August 8, 2008 Maybe you could request they translate the movie to Irish, so you can finally understand what's going on in a movie that has more than five lines of dialogue. Quote
RingMaster2001 Posted August 8, 2008 Posted August 8, 2008 Whatever way you look at it, you are Irish. Northern Irish, yes, but definitely Irish. You are not Scottish, Welsh or English. Quote
phil Posted August 9, 2008 Posted August 9, 2008 (edited) Aero, the term "British" is used in general for people who were / are born in the territories pertaining to the UK (England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland). No matter how you slice it, you're still Irish because of your birth in Northern Ireland, so stop your childish self-hating already. Edited August 9, 2008 by phil Quote
RingMaster2001 Posted August 9, 2008 Posted August 9, 2008 (edited) Well done Phil. British isn't an ethnicity. Australians, Canadians, Indians and even people from Hong Kong have answered to the tag of British in the past. Edited August 9, 2008 by RingMaster2001 Quote
Aero Posted August 9, 2008 Posted August 9, 2008 if i wanted to class my self as irish, i would have an irish passport, but seeing how im from the north, my grand parents and such the likes were all english/scotish. this can be cut 2 ways, u say im irish because im born on a part of ireland, but i say im british because i was born in part of the uk, its not my fault that there is no such term as northern irish, otherwise i'd happily say thats what i am, i'm not irish and as far as jitz irish joke goes, most schools in northern ireland dont even consider teaching irish as a language. so take ur pick, i'm british or nothern irish, i am not irish! Quote
jitz Posted August 10, 2008 Author Posted August 10, 2008 Wait, Irish is actually a language? That really wasn't the joke. The joke was that the Irish fuck up English so much that no one can understand them, so they need dubs over the movie with Irish accents so they can understand it. Apparently now they have their own language, wow, bonus. Oh and Aero, your whole rant about not being Irish, and Northern Ireland not being a recognised blah blah blah blah blah, would have held a lot more weight, it really would have. IF, and it's a big if, you didn't list your "From" as "Northern Ireland". You seem to be rather picky when you recognise your birthplace. Why don't you list your home as "Britain"? It's not, that's why. All Irish jokes apply to you, because even you yourself recognise yourself as Northern Irish. Quote

Well then, to be precise, you're Northern Irish in my book much like how I'm a silly cracker presumably in yours. Quote
Aero Posted August 10, 2008 Posted August 10, 2008 see jitz, its those who live in ireland that talk in that irish jibberish you're on about, 33 being said as tirty tree and such the like, u wanna do a bit more research. phil - ur not a sill cracker in my book... i am uncertain of your feelnigs for a particular farmyard animal tho :S lmao Quote
RingMaster2001 Posted August 10, 2008 Posted August 10, 2008 (edited) Aero, most of my family are from Coleraine, and I lived there for 3 years. They speak so fast I cannot understand half of them. Edited August 10, 2008 by RingMaster2001 Quote
Aero Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 they speak fast mayb, but they dont mispronounce words, bet if they slowed down they would be easier understood than someone with a thick birmingham or scouse accent Quote
RingMaster2001 Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 No, they mispronounce, like all you Irish folk. Quote
jitz Posted August 12, 2008 Author Posted August 12, 2008 Unsurprisingly, I've never liked him more! Quote
CanaMatt Posted August 12, 2008 Posted August 12, 2008 I'm not Canadian I'm south canadian. My accent is totally different. Quote
Aero Posted August 12, 2008 Posted August 12, 2008 again, that would be funny if there was such a country as south canda Quote
