E3 Breakdown: SvR 2009

After watching Smackdown vs. RAW 2009 on IGN's Livewire from E3, here's the main points.

General

- This years roster will feature more than 60 superstars.

- Superstars confirmed by being shown on the selection screen are Mr. Kennedy, Matt Hardy, Jeff Hardy, HHH, Undertaker, C.M. Punk, Batista & Chris Jericho.

- During the second IGN E3 video, The Miz and Morrison confirmed that they will both be in this years game.

- During the second video, The Miz and Morrison talked about Santino and then when asked if there comments meant he was in this years game, they back tracked and said he had a 50-50 chance.

- The Miz and Morrison were also asked about Hornswoggle being in the game, to which they replied he also had a 50-50 chance.

- A NEW "Lockpick" ability is available for certain superstars, which shows a Lockpick icon over the Padlock iconwhich is shown when your superstar is in a submission hold. Superstars with this ability are able to just press "Y" (Xbox 360) to break the submission.

Tag Team Match

- The game will feature 25 NEW tag team finishers.

- Each tag team will have 8 tag team moves available for use in game.

- The "Hot Tag" feature will become available when your momentum meter is low and you reach your own half of the ring.

Inferno Match

- During the match a heat monitor can be seen in the bottom left corner of the screen.

- The match heat meter starts at 400F.

- The heat will rise with each move that is performed.

- Once the heat reaches 500F you are eligible to set your opponent on fire and win the match.

- To set your opponent on fire, once the heat meter reaches 500F you must drag your opponent to the ropes and throw them over the top rope. This will then set your opponent on fire and a cutscene will follow.

- Flames will only stay at 500F for roughly 30 seconds.

Once the heat meter reaches 500F you must drag your opponent to the ropes and throw them out to win.

If you check out the tv in the background you can see The Undertaker on fire in the end of match cutscene.

-As it didn't show Chris Jericho as WWE Intercontinental Champion in the presentation, this confirms Kofi Kingston's presence in the game.

-Whether it was a mistake or not, John Morrison confirmed the presence of The Edgeheads in the game and La' Familia's presence in the Season mode for SvR 2009.

-The Undertaker's MMA based choke The Gogoplata will be included as his 2nd finisher with the Tombstone being the first. He also has a new "sit up" as well.

-Randy Orton has a new finisher in addition to the stand-up RKO. He will now have the stalking RKO as a ground maneuver. There was also a push up RKO ready taunt demonstrated by him as well.

-There were new clearer crowd chants as well I heard in the video.

I saw a pic of Taker bleeding (Taker VS HHH, Inferno Match) and it's exactly the same.

As it didn't show Chris Jericho as WWE Intercontinental Champion in the presentation, this confirms Kofi Kingston's presence in the game.

I see what you mean, it didnt show Jeff or Jericho as champion and considering all the other champions shown are up to date (Matt Hardy is US Champion & HHH is WWE Champion) I guess you could take that as meaning Kofi will be in. But theres still a chance he's not, guess we'll have to wait and see.
