bigpoppn Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 Went to the gym Monday, and I'm still hurt lol I sprained my thumb falling in the shower lmao Apart from that, I like going there. Anyone else going to the gym? If so, what are you focusing on?(biceps, triceps, abs, ..) Quote
ReverseTombstone Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 I started going to the gym about 8 months ago, but i cant go as much as i like because of my new job. I pretty much working all over, mainly my upper body. I wanna get into MMA, and maybe start Wrestling after that. Quote
Subrick Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 Ha... ha ha... I use my school's weight room for gym stuff. MOst of my work out comes through that and PE class. Quote
Trips Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 I go to the gym every other day and mainly do just cardio. Mainly my workout consists of 10km on the bike to warm up, then 30 mins on the treadmill, 5000m on the rowing machine and occasionally may use weights for toning. It keeps me at the same level of fitness consistantly, I've always been big and am 15 and a half stone (217 Pounds) but I am fit. Quote
The Don Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 Slipping in the shower? Hmm... I mostly work the heavy bag that's up in my room, I work up a damn good sweat doin it but I fucked up my wrist awhile back so I haven't been using it as much as I should be. Quote
phil Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 Bench presses, bicep curls, tricep pulldowns, hamstring curls, lat pulldowns and using the treadmill are all I do. I've been trying to up my bench press from 300 lbs. even but I've gotten a little off course with it. Quote
bigpoppn Posted July 10, 2008 Author Posted July 10, 2008 I'm thinking about going every two days, focusing on cardio and biceps/triceps. Although Monday was fun, the guy I went to the gym with was a complete ass. "no, you're doing that wrong, let me show you, I can do this waaaaaaay better, check my muscles, etc." Quote

I go run for about 3k a day as my cardio - and I get tired as shit. Couldn't imagine calling a 10k bike ride a warm up. But it's funny this topic just came up, as I just started lifting again. Working on my chest, starting to notice a little man-boobage since sitting on my ass through the summer. Quote

Typical gym faggot to say that shit. Avoid him next time, poppn. However, if you can, go at least 3-4 days a week to keep yourself well-paced. Quote
Aero Posted July 11, 2008 Posted July 11, 2008 i work out my wrists watching porn on the computer, alternating arms every day Quote
bigpoppn Posted July 11, 2008 Author Posted July 11, 2008 Freak lol And yeah, I want to go every two days so that makes 4times a week. But that includes everything : cardio, lifting weights, etc. Quote
bigpoppn Posted July 11, 2008 Author Posted July 11, 2008 + the ass actually asked me to come with him, to show off. But he's always been like that, so I could've seen it coming. Going to the gym is great tho. Quote
Aero Posted July 11, 2008 Posted July 11, 2008 its not really 4 times a week, otherwise you'll constantly have to do 2 back to back days Quote
Trips Posted July 12, 2008 Posted July 12, 2008 (edited) I go to the gym every other day and mainly do just cardio. Working on my chest, starting to notice a little man-boobage since sitting on my ass through the summer. Well running is a lot more difficult than cycling, its easy enough to clock up km's on a bike. I became accustomed to cycling because running was not easy for me when I started training as my recently healed leg couldn't take the impact and I suffered with shin splints because of this. I weighed myself the other day and I'm actually 15st now, so thats what 210lbs. I seem to be losing weight quickly because of this job I've started while I'm off University till September, I started at a warehouse just lifting furniture around all day. I basically became a fitness freak after I broke my leg. I went up to 17.5st after I broke my leg, I was fat as fuck and when my mum and dad got married I was just out of plaster, saw the wedding photos and saw what I'd become and thought no more, this has got to stop. I knew I was fat but not to the extent that I looked, I was convinced that my girlfriend was going to leave me because of it and though I'm not really one to be effected by anything emotionally my self esteem and confidence suffered. My Dad was a competitive bodybuilder back in the day and so growing up around men of 18-20st that are ripped (usually on steroids) really put me off that look. The whole massive arms lifting weights thing really doesnt appeal to me, I honestly think they look like the biggest bunch of cunts. No doubt Phil thinks he's fucking cool by saying he's benching 300lbs, really I just think it's a primitive, competitive, look at the size of my cock man type thing. MasterOfTheSwanton Posted July 12, 2008 Posted July 12, 2008 I was planning on starting a gym near where I work this year, but seeing as I car share I didnt bother. Instead i've just been lifting weights at home every other day and going for the occaisonal run. I was hoping to do more in preperation for the Great North Run in September, but since I filled in the entry form I've heard nothing back so I'm guessing my application wasnt successful. Quote

LOL. Nah, trips. I don't act like the typical gym douche and I'm sorry if I sounded like one in my first comment of this topic. The last thing I wanna do in a gym is act like badass because that's just wasting time and looking pitifully embarrasing. I only mentioned the bench weight because I thought something like that was gonna be frequent in this topic, but so far it hasn't been. Quote
Niles Jansen The Third Posted July 13, 2008 Posted July 13, 2008 With that said, I can't bench for shit My max is 200, which is actually a bit under my weight, and I honest to god think I can curl more then I bench. Yet, all my friends who can bench more then me are pussies. They just seem to think because they can bench press a lot of weight that they are somehow tougher. Quote
CS Posted July 14, 2008 Posted July 14, 2008 Last time I checked my max bench was 285 and I'm fucking proud of that considering when I started working out about two years ago I could barely bench 135 once. I go to the gym 5 days a week, 5km run on the treadmill to warm up then hit the weights. I focus on a different muscle groups each day, back, legs, arms, shoulders and chest without going into detail for about an hour and a half and then finish with some core training everyday. Supplement wise, 3 protein shakes a day, multi-vitamins and the odd creatine cycle. Quote
crunk Posted July 16, 2008 Posted July 16, 2008 I hate people who brag about how much they curl/bench... I focus more on slow reps/average weights with proper technique rather then just heavy weights and ending up with gorilla arms that won't fully extend because the muscle fibers have tightened from using poor form. Quote
phil Posted July 16, 2008 Posted July 16, 2008 ending up with gorilla arms that won't fully extend because the muscle fibers have tightened from using poor form. That hasn't happened to me yet. Thankfully. Quote
bigpoppn Posted July 17, 2008 Author Posted July 17, 2008 So tomorrow I'm going to the gym, which starts my month of 'training'. I'm going to see if I can actually last a month lol. From there on I'll see what I'll do. My original plan was to star training now, and going to the Belgian Wrestling School at age 18. Let's see if I can handle this shit lol. Btw, if Mandude is reading this, how's the wrestling going man? Quote
RingMaster2001 Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 Ha... ha ha... I use my school's weight room for gym stuff. MOst of my work out comes through that and PE class. That's because you are 3 years too young to use a real gym. Quote
bigpoppn Posted August 18, 2008 Author Posted August 18, 2008 I was wondering why it took so long for someone to say that. Quote
