FIFA just issued the latest world rankings below, of which Spain are top after there Euro win.

Sure they were the best team there, but I'm suprised they've jumped to the top.

Anyway, the main point... England have dropped another 6 places to 15th. Behind Cameroon and only 4 places above the well known footballing country of Ghana.

oh i know lmao, but still, from northern irelands point of view -

we never qualify for anything

we're really shit

but we get the odd victory over the likes of england and, team numero uno, current european champions

so these stupid rankings that seem to think "right, they are shit, but they beat spain, lets move them above the republic of ireland for the first time in 5000000000000 years" are the only form of glory we can ever hope to achieve.

mayb some day we'll qualify for something, and that my friend, will be as good to us as winning the european cup.... getting into the knockouts? why thats like winning the world cup back to back!

I was suprised at how well N. Ireland have done recently, I thought the Republic had the better squad, butobviously not. David Healy has been class for Ireland, just a shame he hasn't hit those heights in the Prem.

i find it weird to think that, due to some legality, spain nearly lost their place in the european championships... cant remember what it was, and it wasnt the teams doing, so its not like they cheated. but look at them now, sitting there as the champs, while, if they hadnt got in, n.ireland would have... random i know, but weird.

Yeah I remember hearing that, cant remember what it was tho. It was the same for England, if Russia started a war with Korea or someone they would have been removed and England would have taken there place. It never happened though, fucking world peace!
