Need Value finders for CAW layer addys

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

For anyone who would like to do their part in HCTP code hacking and understands the wrestler mods as I've posted them:

I found CAW layer offsets and would appreciate some help in finding values to use. I hacked them all using 00 as the value and quite a few of them could be pretty useful with some exploration.

Layer 3 :

00000190 : Design Position up/down 00=uppermost border

00000191 : ?

00000192 : Design Position right/left 00=rightmost border

00000193 : ?

10000194 : Texture ( 16-bit, 4-digit values )

00000196 : Layer ID ( What it says in the Layer List

00000197 : Coverage for type of layer *

00000198 : Trim Type ( for Layers with trim ) 00=#1

00000199 : Color ( X ) 00=14

0000019A : Shade 00=0

0000019B : Color ( Y ) 00=9

0000019C : Transparency 00=invisible

0000019D : Layer Link 00=not linked

0000019E : Layer Effect **

0000019F : Length 00=longest

To get layer 4, add 00000010, for layer 5, 00000020, etc.

I haven't experimented with skin or face except to know that if you set the Layer ID to 00, it locks the game up.

* Coverage for what type of layer is the area that the texture covers. It varies based on what the Layer ID is. A value of 00 seems to give you maximum coverage. Apply this mod to a layer with a long hemline and the texture will cover the entire body except for the soles of the feet and the very top of the head if the value is 00.

** Layer effect is similar to the layer effect in SYM. This affects which side of the body the layer goes on. In SYM there was invisible, left side only, right side only, and both sides for values. It looks to be a little different in HCTP. 00 gives you the layer on both sides whereas in SYM it made the layer invisible.

Check out the skin and face layers. They should also follow the same 00000010 offset. The texture mod for the skin layer may be the best chance we have of editing superstar skin textures in CAW mode, if the values are in range. There's not enough room for all the face morphing and editing, so that's going to be somewhere else.

Check out the question marks, too. Still missing the design size and flip mods ( no big deal ) and the on/off match and entrance mod ( could be useful )

Definitely check on the Eyes Layer ( layer 3 ). When i set the Eyes Layer ID mod to 00 on the existing CAW in slot 2, his eyes had a weird static texture...like a robot or something, but it seemed to vary each time I turned the game on.

Anyone wanting to help out, please take on just one or two things at a time and post what you're taking so we don't have 2 or 3 peeps working on the same thing.

I'm gonna hack some more addys.

PS - Tips on finding 8-bit values. I started off with 00. If you get something different with 01, just follow the pattern up. If you can't get anything different with 01, try FF next. Then 10, 80, 7F, 40, C0, & F0. Always be looking for mathematical patterns to the values and if you find one, go with it. If after all that you still find nothing, I'd probably sigh and give up. I'm not expecting anyone to go through 256 values for something with such limited usage.

so then, once u find the layers... can u make naked chicks on this game too, not that sick, just was wondering, cuz a bunch of assclowns keep askin me on msn if i got that code yet, and its ANNOYING!!!!!, so plz lemme know it if u find it, thanx

shit, theyre that early in the memory? Good work anyway. i assume its a 10 offset for a layer? thats nice and...nice.

toki already posted what's needed to make a nude code: 0000019C : Transparency 00=invisible. All you would do is up the digits to 000001DC for layer 7, & 000001EC for layer 8. Then, you would add the offsets individually to a CAW's address, using 00 as the values.

As for testing, I'll have a go at the face values.

Thanks, Trigin. After 36 hours and silly responses by people who I thought were up to the task and actually wanted to hack, finally someone with some motivation...

Yeah, that was a slight...

Here are the selectable face values.

00 = Male Face 1

01 = Female Face 1

02 = Male Face 2

03 = Male Face 3

04 = Male Face 4

05 = Male Face 5

06 = Male Face 6

07 = Male Face 7

08 = Male Face 8

09 = Male Face 9

0A = Male Face 10

0B = Male Face 11

0C = Male Face 12

0D = Male Face 13

0E = Male Face 14

0F = Male Face 15

10 = Male Face 16

11 = Male Face 17

12 = Male Face 18

13 = Male Face 19

14 = Male Face 20

15 = Male Face 21

16 = Female Face 2

17 = Female Face 3

18 = Female Face 4

19 = Female Face 5

1A = Female Face 6

1B = Female Face 7

1C = Female Face 8

1D = Female Face 9

1E = Female Face 10

1F = Female Face 11

20 = Female Face 12

21 = Female Face 13

22 = Female Face 14

23 = Female Face 15

24 = Female Face 16

25 = Female Face 17

26 = Female Face 18

27 = Female Face 19

28 = Female Face 20

29 = Male Face 22

2A = Male Face 23

2B = Male Face 24

2C = Male Face 25

2D = Male Face 26

2E = Male Face 27

2F = Male Face 28

I also used the values: 40, 7F, 80, C0, F0 & FF, as well as a few in-between & that which begins after 2F; they all appear to do the same thing. That being, when selecting the appearance of a CAW - whether he/she is either being affected by an out-of-range value using its face layer modifier at the time or not doesn't matter - & then editing a CAW being affected by an out-of range value using his/her face layer modifier at the time positions all the layers - hair (painted), skin color, eyes, lips, paint, tattoos, make-up, etc. - from the 1st CAW onto its face, also merging them in the face layer. Too, the placement of tattoos, paint, make-up copied from the 1st CAW is positioned perfectly on the CAW using an out-of-range face layer modifier. However, I'm not positive on this, but I also believe that when this is done, the face part of the CAW using an out-of-range face layer modifier is always reverted to male face 1.

Another thing that needs mentioning is the fact that if you modify the copied face of a CAW, it won't revert to what it was when first entering the edit screen if exiting without accepting the changes. The changes, even though if unaccepted beforehand, will be merged to the CAWs face when entering the edit screen again.

Lastly, I wanted to see what would happen if I loaded the game with the face layer modifiers still active, since some had merged certain layers to CAWs & wouldn't go away. After doing this & entering one of the previously altered CAWs, this is what I got:

...

I reloaded the face layer modifiers on my CB2 & messed with the face of the same CAW, using a different out-of-range. Then, I loaded the game from the game's options, & the same effect appeared.

EDIT: This was all done using the texture mod. I plan on dabbling with the face layer mods a bit more. The known values were posted since they could be useful if wanting to place a male face layer on a type-b model or visa-versa.

__________

Also, here are the selectable skin values:

00 = male skin 1

01 = female skin 1

02 = male skin 2

03 = male skin 3

04 = male skin 4

05 = male skin 5

06 = male skin 6

07 = male skin 7

08 = male skin 8

09 = male skin 9

0A = female skin 2

0B = female skin 3

0C = female skin 4

0D = female skin 5

0E = female skin 6

0F = female skin 7

10 = male skin 10

Again, these cause the same effect as the face layer mod when using values above 10. I haven't tested the out-of-range values too throughly, though. Too, these are being posted if one would want to give a male skin on a type-b body or visa-versa; male skin 2 looks good on a type-b when making a badass female. Lastly, these were found using the texture mods.

__________

...just started messing with the Layer ID modifiers. Right now, these are all I've found:

05 = Hair

06 = Eyebrows

07 = Eyes

...quite useful if one wants to have more than 1 layer of hair, eyebrows, etc. Too, the undergarment layers can be replaced with these. Again, these were found using the Layer ID mod.

Sorry that this took as long as it did. I've been messing with the match rule codes, too, having very little luck.

Dag...that's some freaky $#!+.

So you're saying that when an out-of range Face Layer ( Layer 2 ) texture mod is used it will combine any other head textures used into the face? For example if you used the Layer ID mods to remove eyes, eyebrows & lips and just left the Hair Layer, you could get like a Cousin It CAW with the texture of the hair covering the whole face?

Oh, yeah...with the skin mods, there have been requests for uncensoring codes for female body designs. If you force a male skin onto a female body, will that allow you to place uncensored designs anywhere on a female CAW?

EDIT: Perhaps. If I remember correctly, when removing the eyes' layer in SYM, a set of eyes still remained on the modified CAW. I haven't attempted doing this with the eyes, lips, etc. for a HCTP CAW yet. As for all the hair-types that I've tested with the face mods, they seem to paint as short-hair on the head, even the longest of them when exiting & returning to the CAWs appearance; none of them seem to paint themselves beyond the forehead or back of the neck.

Also, I found the same will happen when using an out-of-range value for the skins. Too, if you view a CAW, then view the CAW affected by the out-of-range value, the face & skin layers of the previously viewed CAW will only merge on the affected CAW for as long as you are viewing it; the true form for its face & body would look like what I posted in the images above. Another thing, the out-of-range values are savable, &, as well, I've found that a CAW using out-of-range values for the head & body will copy the image - but not form - of the CAW wrestler it is fighting in a match, but will only do so when in the same screen with its opponent CAW. It's very hard to explain & even more bizarre. Here are some images to better understand:

...

Also notice that, even though it's painted on, the blood effect is present on the CAW using the out-of-range values for its face & skin. I haven't tried this with a female model yet; however, I doubt that the blood effect will appear painted on its face. Nonetheless, it's worth an attempt.

As for putting male skins on female's bodies, no it won't allow designs on the breast or clevage areas. Even the nipples of a male skin are faded when near the center of the breasts of a type-b model.
