Thom Posted June 10, 2008 Posted June 10, 2008 What do you make of it? I'm not going to claim it's the greatest phone around, but for $199 I'll almost certainly be getting one if only as a back-up phone, for using the gps/iPod in my car, and3G firefox anywhere. Plus the new colours are beautiful. Quote
Thom Posted June 10, 2008 Author Posted June 10, 2008 By Firefox I mean Safari. I'm actually posting this on a sluggish first gen... Quote
jitz Posted June 10, 2008 Posted June 10, 2008 *gasp* Wow a phone that's twice as good, yet half the price. With the recent shake up of the iPod line and this adjustment to the iPhone, I think maybe, just maybe, Apple is finally trying to shake the pretentious, over-priced image the brand has. This is actually a phone I'd buy, it's sleek, stylish, functional, and most importantly, affordable. Quote
Thom Posted June 10, 2008 Author Posted June 10, 2008 Who are you, and what have you done with Chris?! :LOL:LOL Quote
manDude Posted June 10, 2008 Posted June 10, 2008 I have yet to buy a phone of any kind, but I'm, pretty sure my first is going to be the 3g iPhone. Quote
Smacktalks Posted June 11, 2008 Posted June 11, 2008 I'm looking to get one if I can get it unlocked and working with my 3 sim card, still got another 12 months on my 3 contract Quote
Aero Posted June 11, 2008 Posted June 11, 2008 tempted to switch back to o2 in september when my orange contract is up, tho i'm currently getting bband for Quote
Fozy Posted September 6, 2008 Posted September 6, 2008 I waas going to, but the things i would expcect from a phone aren't that great. For one the contract is overpriced, the reception isn't great and the camera is of poor quality. I'm happy I still have my viewty and ipod touch. Quote
Thom Posted September 6, 2008 Author Posted September 6, 2008 The contract is the standard O2 contract. Quote
Fozy Posted September 7, 2008 Posted September 7, 2008 Nah, it's not. You have to upgrade it for the iphone, its like Quote
Aero Posted September 7, 2008 Posted September 7, 2008 i think someone was telling you lies :S think orange had a better deal to be honest, a phone and an ipod touch Quote
Thom Posted September 7, 2008 Author Posted September 7, 2008 The iPhone tariffs are definitely the same as regular O2 tariffs. Better value infact, as you get unlimited browsing for free, which would cost Quote
Aero Posted September 7, 2008 Posted September 7, 2008 yep, thom is correct, i went as far as double checking with my m8 in the o2 shop out of pure paranoia! Quote
Thom Posted September 19, 2008 Author Posted September 19, 2008 There was a staff deal on at work, so today I picked up an 8gb one for free on Quote
