Smacktalks Posted June 1, 2008 Posted June 1, 2008 Check out these new videos of Google's Android Operating System for mobile phones, it works like an iPhone but seems to have much more available on it. Not to mention it can be used on any compatible phone, as opposed to being soley for one phone, like the iPhone. Thom Posted June 1, 2008 Posted June 1, 2008 That's great and all, but the reason the iPhone is man's single greatest creation is entirely down to the screen. You could make the best software in the world, but it would still handle like shit on a HTC touch screen. Quote
Aero Posted June 1, 2008 Posted June 1, 2008 i dunno, the new HTC out next month is looking promising Quote
jitz Posted June 1, 2008 Posted June 1, 2008 I thought the iPhone was one of the most overrated, overhyped pieces of technology in recent memory. A machine made for wankers to show of the other wankers even though better phones are out and were out when it was released. It does less than what the entry Nokia N phones did when they were first released, but wow it has a touch screen, but even that was common on a phone two weeks after the iPhone was released. The new HTC looks to blow it completely out of the water, watch every iPhone owner bag the shit out of it though as they watch their overpriced archaic toy become even more dated than it was when it was released. Aero Posted June 1, 2008 Posted June 1, 2008 i'll agree with most of your points, but its touch screen is pretty impressive compared to most of the crap out there. Quote
jitz Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 I reckon I first used a touch screen in...the early 90's, I was impressed then. Infact it's wikipedia time... 1971 they were invented in, they were first used on a commercially available computer in 1983. The time for a touch screen to be impressive is long past. Quote
Aero Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 still think compared to most thngs b4 the iphone/itouch their touch screen is superior Quote
jitz Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 The Nintendo DS was out two and a half years before it and at a far cheaper price. Quote
Fozy Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 I love the Ipod Touch's touchscreen. It's brilliant and shits all over my phone's touchscreen. It's the ease of use which i like about it. Quote
Aero Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 so what jitz? the iphone doesnt require you to use a stylus, and its screen is twice the size of the DS and not that i dont love my DS but its touch screen is again, kinda crappy compared to the iphones screen. Quote
crunk Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 I hate touchscreens hey...i'll stick with old fashioned buttons thanks. Unfortunately for the industry, i'd say that the majority of consumers would agree with me, which is why things like the i-phone will never be more than a fad. Quote
jitz Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 The DS doesn't require you to use a stylus either, the stylus is for precision, because it's touch screen can detect small movements (ie not shit at all). You're right about the size though, the iPhone isn't a sleek device at all, it's got a fair bit of size and weight about the thing. Thanks for not helping your own point. Quote
Aero Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 i'm not saying i like the iphone, i'm just saying i'm impressed by its touch screen and the way it uses it. i have many issues with the iphone and am not defending any of its short commings. Quote
