Smacktalks Posted May 31, 2008 Posted May 31, 2008 If you haven't yet seen the finale or season 4 as a whole, get out now. If you have seen it, what did you think of season 4 as a whole? I thought it was the best season so far, although it's been a shame having it cut so short due to the writers strike. That said, one of the main reasons I liked this season was that all the episodes were good and revealed a lot of things that we didn't previously know. Yet other longer seasons have been plauged with filler episodes like the "Nikki & Pablo" episode. I didn't think the finale was as good as I was expecting tho, it was a great episode but I dont think it topped Season 3, with the death of Charlie and the Flashforward. Probably because the writers gave away a lot of information throughout the season this year (time travelling, moving the island, black smoke), instead of keeping it for the finale. Add in the fact that we knew they get off the island and it sort of took away from the finale. Although the suprises in seeing Desmond reunited with Penny and "Jermey Bentham" being the guy in the coffin for me were unexpected. So yeah, what did you think of it? Quote
Fozy Posted May 31, 2008 Posted May 31, 2008 I loved it. Season 4 was brilliant, and it also had the best episode yet, The Constant. I loved the final Quote
Smacktalks Posted June 1, 2008 Author Posted June 1, 2008 Just come across these alternate endings they made to try and stop any leaks. Quote
Spectre Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 (edited) I loved that Season finale and the season as a whole. Jack has completly lost it, and i cant wait to see what he is going to try to do. Next season will be awesome Edited June 2, 2008 by Tv's Joe Lauzon Quote
crunk Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 i stopped watching around season 2 where the found the camp with the other people... so whats the go with the island? monsters n shit? they made any sense of all that yet? Quote
Smacktalks Posted June 2, 2008 Author Posted June 2, 2008 They revealed a bit more about the Black Smoke monster this season, but we still don't know exactly what it is or where it's from. http://smacktalks.org/video/mediaplayer.swf'width='400'height='300'allowscriptaccess='always'allowfullscreen='true'flashvars='height=300&width=400&file=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=efXwF3aLv64'/> http://www.youtube.com/smolesiuk The youtuber above has been putting up videos revealing secrets, theories, etc. for each episode of Season 4 after they've aired. Great watch for any Lost fans as it reveals a lot of stuff you miss when your watching the episodes and brings up a lot of old things linked to the current happenings that you've probably forgotten about from the early seasons. Aero Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 i litterally started watching lost last month. 1/4 the way thru season 3 now, so i have a pretty good memory of all thats went down, still handy youtube link for when i hit season 4 next week cheers i'm shocked, i came onto this topic and havnt actually readededed a spoiler yet.. just avoiided some posts etc :S Quote
Fozy Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 Yeah, lost is too awesome for spoilers. Plus it's not something you can really spoil, you have to watch it to understand most of the things that happens. Quote
Aero Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 that seems pretty apparent. well, no gf tonight, nothing else to do so gonna watch another 3 or 4 episodes. its really addictive! there are times when its not great but those episodes ALWAYS carry a cliffhanger (well, most episodes carry a cliffhanger) so it MAKES you watch the next one... its evil really. i still prefer heroes tho :S Quote
Smacktalks Posted June 2, 2008 Author Posted June 2, 2008 I did the same thing last year. I'd seen the first few when it started but then kept missing them, so I ended up watching season 1 & 2 in a week and a half in time for Season 3 starting. The only downside was when season 3 started and I had to wait a week in between it was really annoying, not to mention the end of season break Quote
Spectre Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 (edited) Hey guys just to clear this issue up, and Sorry aero if it spoils something for you, dont read! The reason ben randomly ended in the desert is because he used the wheel to move the island? But how did ben know what time to go to to meet syiad and how did he know where he would end up? Edited June 2, 2008 by Tv's Joe Lauzon Quote
Aero Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 "show spoiler"? :'( its all ruined...... oh, wait, i'm supposed to click on that..... nm. Quote
Smacktalks Posted June 2, 2008 Author Posted June 2, 2008 There was some theories to say he wouldn't know where or when he'd end up, that's why he took the weapon and Halliwax's jacket, incase it was somewhere cold. Turns out that was put to rest though when it revealed the coat was because the area with the wheel was cold and the weapon came from his fight with Keamy. For me, I think the early episode from this season that showed Charlotte finding the Polar Bear skull was to reveal that there was a link from the island to that place (Tunisia). So pherhaps Ben knew he would end up there? Then when he seen Sayid on tv in Iraq, that's when he decided to travel there. As for him knowing when, he was. I don't think he did, that's why he asked the receptionist in the hotel what year it was. Quote
jitz Posted June 7, 2008 Posted June 7, 2008 This may be littered with spoilers so I'll tag this one... Yes Lost is awesome. People who have stuck with it are reaping the benefits of the best show on TV as finally the pieces are falling together. The finale did a great job of leading into what will become the main theme of season 5 - what happens to the remaining survivors on the island, and Jack and Ben's quest to take the one's that got off the island, back to it. It'll be interesting the see how Desmond and Frank play into that. Is Desmond meant to remain on the island, or is he allowed off, same with Frank. Desmond is one of the show's best characters and a fan favourite, he has to play a pivotal role in the last two seasons as he has throughout the show. And Frank is a good character, along with the other characters brought in, they've added to the show what the season 2 fuckwits couldn't. Michelle Rodriguez, what the fuck were they thinking!? The nerdy guy, I can't ever remember his name, he single handedly carried episodes this season, he's fantastic. Season 6, the last season will deal with the actual conclusion and finally the reveal what the fuck the island is, when Jack and company finally return. I'm thinking season 6 won't have flash forwards, instead maybe doing flash backs that reveal key scenes that explain the island's mysteries and how it ties into what is going on at the time. I think this because as Paul said, already kowing the conclusion to what happened this season did take away from the finale - they wont do that to the serie's end. All bar the extremely lacklustre season 2 (thank god they retconned most of that) Lost has rarely had a terrible episode. Although Hugo's reference to the only decent character introduced in series 2, Mr Ecko, was a nice touch although insiginificant. I even liked the Nikki and Pablo episode, it actually fit into continuity and told a great story - although the story wasn't important. I also have to say, Michael Emerson as Ben is a legend. He plays the character so well, it's a bit of a one trick pony, but fuck, it's a good trick. In conclusion season 5 and 6 are set up to hit a home run. Quote
Fozy Posted June 7, 2008 Posted June 7, 2008 And not forgetting Season 7 will most likely blow us all away. Quote
jitz Posted June 8, 2008 Posted June 8, 2008 It was announced last year that the show would end at season 6... Quote
Fozy Posted June 8, 2008 Posted June 8, 2008 (edited) Wait, 2 more seasons after 4 is 6. lol, my mistake. Edited June 8, 2008 by Alta Quote
ReverseTombstone Posted June 8, 2008 Posted June 8, 2008 (edited) TURN THE FROZEN DONKEY WHEEL, WUT?! Ah i love Lost, i was gonna go comic-con this year, i hear they are planning to reveal a bit more about The Orchid and how it related to the Dharma work on the island. But you can never always believe what you read on the internet. Edited June 8, 2008 by TSHyper Quote
jitz Posted June 9, 2008 Posted June 9, 2008 What they were getting at with the donkey wheel was that it predated the Dharma project and all of their technology (albeit dated technology). The Orchid was built around this device, a device that no doubt will remain a mystery till it's completely explained what the island is. So don't be all "TURN THE FROZEN DONKEY WHEEL, WUT?!" as with everything in Lost, it's there to tell the story, it's just not spelt out to you. Was it there at the creation of the island? Or did early inhabitants install the device? How long ago were the inhabitants, because donkey wheel technology goes WAY back. Quote
Aero Posted June 9, 2008 Posted June 9, 2008 still ignoring anything that sounds spoilerish, i'll be starting on season 4 by the end of the night Quote
Smacktalks Posted June 12, 2008 Author Posted June 12, 2008 Watch The Constant, best episode pre-finale. Quote
Aero Posted June 12, 2008 Posted June 12, 2008 i'll watch them in order thanx im on episdoe 10 of.. 14? so not far to go now Quote
Aero Posted June 14, 2008 Posted June 14, 2008 ok, so i'm done watching now. i had to take a double look at "jeremy bentham" dont think he was ever that clean cut in any other part of the series, not even in his flash backs lmao, so rather than shock, it was who the fuck... oh yeah lmao. dont think its the end for him tho, what with the island having magicness etc. cant help but think ben is trying to play these guys again as "who ever moves the island can never go back" he wants back more than any1. finally, i LOVE desmond brother. his episodes where alaways the best, he rarely had a straight forward flash back or flash forward episode so his episodes where always more interesting, on top of that, he pronounces Aaron the way we do over here i.e we say it like - R-on, where as everyone else said "air-on" which is fine, but thats how charley should have been sayin it too. roll on season 5 oh, on a side note because the season was cut short, thats probably another reason the finale wasn't as hot as we all hoped. same with heroes.
