CS Posted May 26, 2008 Posted May 26, 2008 It wasn't the greatest movie ever made but it was pretty much what I expected it to be, they pretty much went overboard with the never gunna happen parts with Indiana surviving a nuclear bomb going off 200 feet away by jumping into a fridge or Mutt going tarzan and catching up to speeding cars by swinging rope to rope through a jungle or the fact that there was aliens in it. My favourite part was hands down the slow motion look at the picture of Sean Connery on his desk, the giant ants carrying the guy down into the hole was creepy and the greaser fight was entertaining. Oh and by the way what the fuck does the spaces in between space mean? Quote
jitz Posted May 27, 2008 Posted May 27, 2008 I dug it all bar the Tarzan bit. I would have mentioned the eh el eye ee ens even in spoilers because it really is meant to be a suprise and doesn't have to be mentioned to give your view on the movie, you can simply say, the pay off at the end was weird and out of place in the serie's mythology, or you could say that the ending was good and with only three movies telling Indiana Jone's stories, you really have no real grasp on what his mythology is. Critics are being too harsh on the movie; saying shit like it's summer blockbuster fluff, saying it's requires no thought and there's no character development in the movie, not as good as the old one's they say. Fuck, have they watch an Indiana Jones movie before? There's never been a great deal of plot development, I don't know Short Round's backstory. Indiana went from point A to B to C to D in his quest for the artifact in the old one's...he does here to. It's the exact same movie but with more CGI now. Just watch the thing, don't expect it to win best movie ever awards (which no Indiana Jones movie deserves), and just enjoy it for what it is - an action adventure. Quote
