Jonny Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 Well I got a hold of a PS2 game (MGS3: Subsistance, NTSC version) and burnt the ISO to a dvd using MagicISO, popped it into PS2 using Swap Magic 2.0. After inserting the MGS disc and hitting X, I got the blue screen (meaning load succesful) Then it just hung on a black screen and did nothing. I then created an MDS file using DVD Decrypter and burnt the ISO once again, using Nero this time. I got the same results. What do I do to resolve this? Quote
Aero Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 sell drugs to kids, show them ur willy n let their parents phone the poilce on you... that'll fix ur problem .... no seriously, u#ll go to jail for ages where you'll have all the PS2, PS3, x360, wii and pc games u'll ever want to play! Quote
Smacktalks Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 Try burning the ISO at the lowest possible speed. Quote
Jonny Posted April 9, 2008 Author Posted April 9, 2008 I burnt it at half speed (as advised) but that didn't fix the problem. Quote
ALL STAR Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 Wouldnt it just be easier to buy the game its really cheap now anyways. Quote
Aero Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 i dunno if its an issue with the ps2, but on the wii, only certain types of discs would work, so if ur using +R discs, try -R, or if u got tesco brand, try something else... if not, my first idea will work Quote
Jonny Posted April 10, 2008 Author Posted April 10, 2008 I've tried + and - R man. Even tesco brand... Quote
jitz Posted April 11, 2008 Posted April 11, 2008 There's so many things that could be going wrong here, the burner, the image file, the media used, the Swap Disc. Download an image file of it, they tend to be better than creating your own. The release groups use the best PS2 compatible drives to create the images with. Quote
Jonny Posted April 11, 2008 Author Posted April 11, 2008 Well, I had played a copied version of MGS 3 on my PS2 not so long ago. I'm downloading a different ISO of the game. I'm hoping that shall solve the problem. Quote
jitz Posted April 11, 2008 Posted April 11, 2008 A "Jitz I'm taking your advice and downloading an image of the game", would have sufficed. Quote
Jonny Posted April 11, 2008 Author Posted April 11, 2008 Well I downloaded a PAL .ISO of the same game, burnt the ISO using Nero. Same thing happened. WTF anyone? Quote
Aero Posted April 11, 2008 Posted April 11, 2008 ur rubbish? i dunno, never did copy PS2 games, just used stuck the HDD into the computer and copied them on that way. Quote
Jonny Posted April 11, 2008 Author Posted April 11, 2008 Well I heard of a way of booting games through USB. But I'm too poor to afford a large capacity memory stick. Quote
Aero Posted April 12, 2008 Posted April 12, 2008 pfft, if ur willing to wait a week, u can get an 8gb stick for Quote
jitz Posted April 12, 2008 Posted April 12, 2008 If it's not working it's either your burner (have you burnt a PS2 game with it before?), your blank discs, or the Swap Disc. I'd be pointing at the burner. Get Alcohol 120% for starters, it's the best image burning program out there, and select the PS2 profile and try that. Quote
