SvR 2009 Improvements

As we look forward to the next installment of WWE on our consoles, the yearly question arises...

What improvements do you want to see this year?

Here's a few additions that fans are currently requesting, obviously there's a few that aren't very realistic, but there's always hope!

Personally for me i'd like to see a lot of gameplay updates and new additions as oppsoed to a whole load of new superstars.

Looking at TNA's first attempt it looks very impressive, especially when comparing it to the recent SvR games. I think THQ need to take a good look at TNA and go back and rework the whole of the gameplay in SvR. I dunno about everyone else, but alot of the gameplay for me now seems to just be button bashing, instead of taking steps forward with each game, it's like THQ have just decided to stick where are.

Collision Detection

The whole collision detection needs to be fixed, because moves still connect when they are in fact way off. Not to mention high flying moves, if you try one and your short of your opponent, if your close enough you magically warp into connecting to your opponent and it all looks really bad because of it.

Ring Area

As for the ring area, apart from being able to select weapons, nothing seemed to change. The whole scaffolding was kept from the last game and not updated. Also why have this there? Have you ever seen any scaffolding mixed into the fans? Why not move it to the staging area? or allow players to climb part of the entrance and do areial moves like Jeff Hardy's Swanton on to Randy Orton?

Stage

I'd also like to see the stage area made more interactive, because at the moment you go there and you cant do anything. At least add in some interactive parts so we can throw people into the staging, off the stage, use the lights as weapons, etc. etc. It just seems to be a big part of the arena that has been over looked. This would make Buried Alive matches WAY better, rather than having the grave at one end of the area and the "crowd fighting area" with the scaffold at the completley opposite side.

Apron / Barriers

Talking about the ring area i'd also like the ability to run around the apron, as you can run and jump onto it now, but then your frozen still until you jump off. Cant we at least have the option to run around the apron and do running moves off it like Paul London? or at least climb into the ring from standing on the apron? The same goes for the ring barrier, cant we run around that and do moves from it like Jeff Hardy does? These are just another part of the ringside area that has been overlooked when it comes to player interaction.

Basically they need to start from fresh at the moment the game is more like frankensteins monster pieced together with gameplay bits thrown in.

I would be happy if after 09 they didnt bring a game out for 2 years so they could work on something new.

And to keep the 09 fresh have content packs like superstar and ppvs packs.

First things first, iron out the god damn glitches, especially the collision ones.

New moves. New reversal system. Make it MUCH harder to pin your opponent (make it 50x harder to get your opponents limb damage to orange/red). Make a half-decent story mode, do what no mercy did and have tons of different story line routes, a few for each belt. Sort the lag out. New matches. NEW GAME !

Everything should be new.

I wouldn't mind for them to not release a 2009 but a 2010.

TNA is coming so I think they'll bring out a better game to be able to compete with the TNA game.

OR they suck, like always, and throw out the same game like 08.

Make multiple animations for one finisher and have just alot more submissions,be able to go for a rope break, some more hotspots on stage and barricade going to stage, moves that require ropes like old school when done out side the ring he goes on the barricade, chain wrestling, more rope moves , no limit on what moves one can do. Pin moves when done out side have an animation with no pin that isnt half assed.

Multiple finishers is a must like a chokeslam on a lightweight you have a lot of height and a heavyweight being chokeslammed should look alot harder to pull off plus less height

Good commentary would do WONDERS for the game.

Also, allow more creativity to CAWs and such. Maybe more hair options, and alot more different basic/abstract shapes and designs, with more layers. With more basic/abstract designs more designs are possible to create. As well, even if it means lowering the amout of CAWs able to be made I say all systems should have at least 80 layers.

Interaction of course. Aswell, I'd say get rid of useless polygons, like the second announce table no one is siting at. THey don't have 2 tables at raw and smackdown, so why two in every arena?? It just looks dumb to have an empty table there.

And, I think the entire grappling system needs to be reworked. It's getting very tired. Ultimate control moves are awesome, but who cares if it's only for moves liek the Samoan drop or suplex? Make more moves reversible like that (mid move). It would totally change the way moves are done in the game.

Collision sucks ass in SvR games. I say, any move being done or and animation being done does not block out other opponents from hitting you.

Someone hits a move and part of the animation for the move is to get up and taunt after, and you can mash all the buttons you want, because you're not going to do shit to them until after the animation is over.

FIX YOUR SHIT THQ AND YUKES.

Commentary isnt impossible. Look at nba 2k8 they can call everyones name and say every single dunk or where they shoot it from like 20 feet or 15. They also react properly when someone is dunked on or when a block happens. This is great commentary.

I think they should use the same collison system or pretty much the same system they used in Day of Reckoning 2,which in imo is the best wrestling game since No Mercy,but i'm sure some people are going to disagree with me.

Well the developers are just going to keep re wrapping the same crap until someone stops buying it.

I haven't played DOR 1 or 2 but I have heard you are capable of interrupting any move at any time (???).

If so, that would be sick.

you can but it can piss you off when your doing your move,but it's incredibly funny when you do it to somebody else.

you can but it can piss you off when your doing your move,but it's incredibly funny when you do it to somebody else.

It's awful, say Taker is holding someone up for the Tombstone, or even in the animation, you punch him and then it just warps to getting hit by a punching animation. While the other guy just drops on the ground. On the other hand, it adds a lil more strategy to matches with more then one wrestler, because if you have a slow finisher you gotta time it right when you try to hit it.

SvR 09 will probably have the same engine which sucks because SvR 08 suckin fucked!!

ew gross in that case,I'll be renting Impact rather than buying it,as for SvR I'll probably get it for christmas just like the past 3 years.

I dont think it matters how many TNA has anyway as most in the svr games are worthless like the divas and guys like snisky. But each wrestler in the tna game will have 3 to 4 different attires unlike svr which has got lazy.

but on IGN.com,they said something about downloadable wrestlers & attires via Xbox Live.
