Subrick Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 Thursday March 13 5:50 AM ET Harry Potter was the center of seven novels, but he'll star in eight films. The final book in the wildly successful series will be made into two films, the Los Angeles Times reported Wednesday. Producers are expected to announce Thursday that J.K. Rowling's last "Potter" installment, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows," will be split into two parts on the big screen. The first film is slated for release in November 2010, with part two following in May 2011. "It was born out of purely creative reasons," producer David Heyman told the Times. "Unlike every other book, you cannot remove elements of this book." The two final "Potter" films will be shot concurrently, much like the blockbuster trilogy based on J.R.R. Tolkien's epic fantasy novel "The Lord of the Rings" Another famous Tolkien tome, "The Hobbit" is also being split into two live-action movies set for back-to-back shooting to begin next year. Filming on the sixth "Potter" flick, "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince," began in September. "It's been brilliant," said star Daniel Radcliffe. "It's also, I think, the funniest of the films so far." The "Potter" film franchise has pulled in $4.5 billion at the worldwide box office. Quote
Aero Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 finally. i've said they should have been doin this since the 3rd movie, i've still not read the books, nor will i ever, but the number of ppl complaining "they missed this out, they missed that out" got on my tits. Quote
jitz Posted March 14, 2008 Posted March 14, 2008 I'll admit that I've enjoyed the Harry Potter movies, while I don't rush out to see them, I watch it on DVD when they're thrown infront of me. That last one though, Order of the Phoenix, was the biggest load of shit. I don't know if they cut all the good parts from the book or what; maybe it was just a crap story to begin with, but it sucked. I'm for splitting the last book, reason being - it's fucking thick, it's obviously got a lot of story to tell and wrap up. Hopefully it will be nothing like Kill Bill though, starts off with a great movie, ends with the poorest excuse of a film. Here's hoping the Half Blood Prince is good too. I think my main issue with Order of the Phoenix was Hermione's hotness went from about a 7/10 in Goblet of Fire, to 3/10 in Order of the Phoenix. Quote
Subrick Posted March 14, 2008 Author Posted March 14, 2008 (edited) But the real question is: Is she still fuckable? Edited March 14, 2008 by Subrick Quote

Chillalex Posted March 15, 2008 Posted March 15, 2008 Yeah, I got order of the phoenix and having seen them all, was utterly disappointed. Shit film, I just felt empty at the end of it. My girlfriend, who's read the books, likes it alot though, so maybe its a better film if you've read the book (which makes it a pretty bad film on other grounds.) Or maybe you just shouldnt trust girls. Quote
Aero Posted March 15, 2008 Posted March 15, 2008 see, thats a bit crap because alot of ppl i know who like the books hate the movies (mainly as they miss out things etc) so making a movie which is only good if ur read the books is pointless. also, ur girlfriend only likes it (i'm guessing) because it reminds her of the more indepth story within the book and possibly also because whatever happens in the 6th book, this movie supposedly has set up for the next year at hogwarts... i.e. she liked it due to the anticipation factor of knowing whats coming in the 6th movie. CS Posted March 17, 2008 Posted March 17, 2008 Seeing as I'm pretty much an in the closet harry potter fanatic I'll help you guys out abit. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix was the worst book in the series imo, the wasn't about harry vs. voldemort it was more of a war of politics at hogwarts which was well boring as shit. Now the problem about Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is, there's no plot. The only real storyline is about a potions book harry gets that has notes scribbled throughout it. All it is is a what an average year at Hogwarts should be for Harry where he doesn't have anybody plotting to kill him and instead 1/4 of the book is harry fantasizing about his forbidden love. The book left me thinking this should've been 20 pages long, the book just stalls for 500 pages until the exciting finish which in importance almost makes up for the rest of the book. Get ready for a joke filled script to get you through the first 1h 45m of the movie. For Hermione's hotness, tit's looked amazing in the fourth movie and fifth they hid them under multiple layers of clothing and huge sweaters. Oh and the decision to make the last book into two movies is just fucking incredible, the book would've been ruined if they hadn't. Quote
jitz Posted March 17, 2008 Posted March 17, 2008 For Hermione's hotness, tit's looked amazing in the fourth movie and fifth they hid them under multiple layers of clothing and huge sweaters. EXACTLY. They were all on display and bouncing around and then BAM! "Sorry sir, we feel that looking at boobies in a film mainly aimed at kids is inappropriate, we're going to warp these fun bags up nice and tight so no one gets a look". It was a bad move, he's hoping they're brought out of hibernation for the next movie. Quote
