The Don Posted February 17, 2008 Posted February 17, 2008 So as some of you know I moved yesterday/today, and I'm so glad it's mostly done.I've been getting up at the asscrack of dawn all week because I was sick so I'd slowly start packing. Yesterday mostly revolved around cable and the computer. Without going into any details, I just wanna say FUCK IKEA! As much of a pain in the ass these past few days/weeks have been, during my first night in the new place I can say it was well worth it. The old house was falling apart, sad as it sounds this place is almost too nice for us. While moving I decided my TV is too damn heavy to fuck with bringing down here so my mom's buying it off me and I went to Target and got a 42 inch LCD tv and it's fucking purdy! I also got a HD DVR set up down here which I'm loving because I don't have to use my Media Center to record shows which will save A LOT of room on my harddrive. Also I have the modem plugged directly into my computer now so I no longer have to shit myself when I download at 100kbs. It's been rather well documented how shitty my network was set up before. I do however need to invest the wirless thing for the 360, if anyone could give me a mini-review that'd be great. kthxbi. Quote
Smacktalks Posted February 17, 2008 Posted February 17, 2008 Why fuck IKEA? I haven't tried the wireless adapter for the 360 but i've heard it's really slow. If your gonna be streaming movies, etc. to it then you'll probably have problems (especially the HD streaming). If it's just for gaming though it should be fine imo, but I find it easier to just plug an ethernet cable into the 360. Quote
Fozy Posted February 17, 2008 Posted February 17, 2008 i use thee wireless thing for 360, if it's within a good distance from the routher then it's basically wired to me. good to hear you've moved in and its all gioing well Quote
jitz Posted February 17, 2008 Posted February 17, 2008 I read the title and thought "Just get your fat arse off the couch you lazy shit". It would have made for a better topic, so I don't apologise. Quote
Heart Breaker Posted February 18, 2008 Posted February 18, 2008 I used the wireless network adapter for a long time, and it worked just fine for me. I never had any issues whatsoever with it. But my advice would be to call around and see if anyone is selling a used one. $100 is a lot to spend on an adapter alone. Used ones are anywhere between $60-$70. Quote
The Don Posted February 19, 2008 Author Posted February 19, 2008 I've opted just for unplugging my computer and plugging my 360 in. Quote
