Why are good people so fucking stupid?

So a very close friend of mine has a kid with this guy and their relationship is unstable at best. They've tried living together three times and it always ends with him fucking up, her getting to wits end, and her and her kid packing up and moving back in with her grandma.

So I was talkin to her this morning and she tells me that the baby's father "convinced" (her word, not mine) her and the baby to move in with him. So I just decided to air my concerns by saying "You're one of the few people in this world who's back I'll always have and support. But if shit turns ugly I will hunt him down." Now I try my best to stay out of my friend's personal affairs unless I've been brought in, but I've already had to punch the guy in the face once after he pulled this kinda shit to her before.

Normally I'd not say anything, but unfortunately this is one of my closest friends and she's been fucked over too many times by this waste of flesh. So essentially what I'm asking if there's a way I can tell her to stop being so fucking forgiving and that Christmas gifts (after a month of not even getting a phone call from him) and a house does not make a (serious) significant other or a father.

if lifetime movies and daytime talk shows taught me anything, it's that women are genetically predisposed to cling to abusive/deadbeat husbands and boyfriends. maybe he's good in bed or something, i dunno.

so yeah, unless he's beating the crap out of her, you're best off minding your own business. she'll learn eventually.

I have a friend who keeps going back to a complete prick too. I was understanding to begin with but once I let her know that she can do what she wants but I won't forget what he's done int he past.

Now she doesn't talk about any of it to me any more, convinced that I believe she's not still fucking him just because she doesn't want me to tell her what she already knows, i.e. she's losing all her self-respect and appearing weak and spineless. my ex's best friend lost all her friends due to going back to the same wanker that noone likes.

however, all her female friends always go back to her even tho she uses them and drops the for this tool. none of her male friends speak to her any more.

this proves quite simply that women are thick as shit.
