The Don Posted November 18, 2007 Posted November 18, 2007 So what's the deal with no Big John or Herb Dean? Not that it's a big issue, I just found it odd. Also did anyone notice the 4+ plugs for Assassian's Creed? Worst offender being Karo by having his ENTIRE BANNER being an Assassian's Creed ad. Hell I just looked over during Rashad's interview and he's wearing an AC hat. WTF? Ubisoft isn't making the UFC game? Okay, Evan's is the biggest whore by saying Assassian's Creed during his interview. Quote
Nemo Posted November 19, 2007 Posted November 19, 2007 herb dean is a shitty ref anyway. good riddance. and it's not exactly rare for a fighter to name their sponsors, especially since thats where most of their money comes from. Quote
The Don Posted November 19, 2007 Author Posted November 19, 2007 Maybe I just noticed it because it was a video game, but there was an assload of whoring for AC. I saw less Affliction shit than I did AC crap. BTW those Afflictions shirts are awesome but fuckin expensive! Quote
Nemo Posted November 19, 2007 Posted November 19, 2007 aside from the fact that im not trendy enough to wear affliction clothes, no t-shirt is worth $50. though my tapout hoodie was :\ Quote
Heart Breaker Posted November 19, 2007 Posted November 19, 2007 Okay. Let me explain something real quick. The UFC doesn't hire the refs. The athletic commissions hire the refs. Meaning, it wasn't UFC's choice to get rid of Herb Dean, Steve "Porno Stache" Mazzagatti, or Big John. The UFC went to New Jersy for the first time in awhile for UFC 79. The NJ Athletic Commission must've assumed that their refs were more than capable of enforcing the rules for the matches. Big John and the others will be back... just probably not when the UFC is in Jersey. Quote
The Don Posted November 20, 2007 Author Posted November 20, 2007 Yet another reason why Jersey sucks. Oh well, I was less than impressed with the PPV as a whole. Evans/Bisping delivered but the rest was lacking to me, Alexander getting his shit pushed back in the first round was a huge disappointment. Quote
Nemo Posted November 20, 2007 Posted November 20, 2007 ...Steve "Porno Stache" Mazzagatti... lmao. Quote

The UFC 78 card had all the potential to have some great fights... Unfortunately, it didn't live up. I knew Houston Alexander would get his ass kicked by Thiago Silva... too bad for the fanboys that truely believed Alexander was the next big thing. As for Bisping and Evans, I saw it being close, and I saw it going to a decision. It was a great fight. I just wish someone would've got KO'd or submitted... but that's probably asking too much. December should be a great month though. TUF 6 Finale, Hughes-Serra, and Liddell-Silva. I can't wait! Quote
The Don Posted November 20, 2007 Author Posted November 20, 2007 I still think Alexander is hot shit in a champaign glass, and apparently a lot of other people do too. It's just too bad he seemed to eger to show that he has a ground game when he really doesn't. When he comes back I think he'll bebetter than before. He just needs to spend a few months working off his back, his stand up game fine right now. Hopefully by the end of '08 he'll atleast have a title shot. Bisping/Evans was a disappointment, but it had it's moments. I'm just glad Bisping didn't get another gift decision. Hopefully the UFC won't screw us out of Hamall/Bisping II. As far as December goes it's a good month to be a UFC fan, I'm most excited about Liddell/Silva, I've never seen a full fight of Silva's and I want to see if Chuck still has it in him or if it's maybe time for him to hang it up and take Randy's place announcing during the big fights. Hopefully by the end of '08 he'll atleast have a title shot. Exactly. He doesn't have a ground game. Which takes years to develop fully. Houston will not be a top contender. He's a great striker, horrible wrestler, and has a horrible ground game. Great strikes will not get you anywhere. He got a couple of flash knock outs that made him look good. Everyone over hyped him, which is a shame. Houston will always be fun to watch, but he'll never be a championship calibur fighter. Period. I want to see if Chuck still has it in him or if it's maybe time for him to hang it up and take Randy's place announcing during the big fights. Chuck will never announce. He's horrible on the mic. He'd never be able to call the action. He'll always be a part of the UFC... but as for commentating? Yeah. Don't think we'll see that happen. And thank God for that. Quote
The Don Posted November 21, 2007 Author Posted November 21, 2007 I just don't think Chuck will be able to walk away when he does. I'm sure he'll trane, but he's Dana's boy, he's gonna be doing something with the UFC. Quote
Nemo Posted November 27, 2007 Posted November 27, 2007 he can be one of the ring girls. how about that, eh? chuck in a thong walking around letting us know what round it is. sounds hot, doesnt it? Quote
