Legendeath Posted November 1, 2007 Posted November 1, 2007 To be honest with you making a top 5 guitarist thing is pretty hard. Why? Because you really can't contain just 5 guitarist there is just too many. Also alot of guitarist are recognized for different things so trying to put that on a list is pretty hard. Here's my list 10.Slash 9.Micheal Angelo Batio (His speed is unmatched) 8.Eddie Van Halen 7.Tommi Iommi 6.Jimi Hendrix 5.Yngwie Malmsteen 4.Dimebag Darell 3.Jimmy Page 2.Paul Gilbert 1. (Tie) Joe Satriani/Steve Vai Quote

tokidoim Posted November 9, 2007 Posted November 9, 2007 Jimmy Page is overrated anyway. Whycome nobody has Dave Mustaine on their list? Not a one of you! Chris Poland from Megadeth was nothing to sneeze at either. Megadeth rhythms are tougher to play than many others' solos. Andy Summers from The Police is really talented, but not one of my favorites. Michael Angelo makes me want to puke...I appreciate the speed, but there's nothing BUT speed. Not to my tastes. If you want speed that actually sounds like something more than a scale, Paul Gilbert is the man to beat. Thumbs up for Tony Iommi and Angus Young...masters of the power riffs. You can add David Chastain to that list. Vinnie Moore...not well known, but very versatile and talented. Not sure if he ever played in a band, but I've got two of his albums...lovely stuff. Of course, Vai and Satriani are basically unbeatable. They've got it all. nosig Quote
