He is arguably one of the best cruiserweights to step in the squared circle. I can't wait for his return to in-ring action. Unfortunately, it's gonna be in early 2008. Here he is - the guy I saw at a house show (with Rosey & Super Stacey) The Hurri- um, I mean Gregory Helms.

HEIGHT: 6'

WEIGHT: 215 lbs.

HOMETOWN: Raleigh, N.C.

Former Cruiserweight Champion Gregory Helms was one of the longest-reigning Champions in WWE history. The arrogant veteran captured the title at the 2006 edition of the Royal Rumble, putting an exclamation point on his transition from Raw to SmackDown.

Hell-bent on proving that he is the greatest Cruiserweight in WWE history, Gregory Helms no longer cares about anyone but himself. Of course, Helms wasn't always filled with angst. Formerly known for fighting for truth, justice and the WWE way, The Hurricane was once a mild mannered reporter who doubled as a sports-entertainment superhero. He devoted several years to fighting for justice on Raw every Monday night, but now, Helms' sole focus is his own prosperity.

Prior to entering WWE, Helms was a star in WCW, where he held the Cruiserweight and Hardcore Championships. As The Hurricane in WWE, he once again held the Cruiserweight Championship, and also teamed with Kane to win the World Tag Team Championship. For a brief time during WrestleMania X8, he also held the WWE Hardcore Championship.

FINISHERS

Shining Wizard 8

Knee Facebuster

Note: Awesome Graphics. It's about time he received that hat in the game.

I agree with you, I like his attire and he looks good all round.

Think this is one of the best they have done looks just like him

Sadly, we won't see him on TV for 6 more months. Broken necks suck.

Isn't someone dead when they break their neck??And how did it happen??

Posted

No. Many people have broken their neck and survived; Hardcore Holly, Kurt Angle, Chris Benoit, Tommy Dreamer, etc. And it was during a house show.

I've heard it before, I think Tazz had one too, Sabu too, etc.But I always wondered if how they could survive becuz I always heard when ppl have a broken neck, they die.

Edge lived with a broken neck from an Angle german suplex for about a month before even realising something was wrong. The tip off apparently was when his right arm 'shrivelled to the size of a noodle'.

Same thing with Helms, he never knew until he went to see a doctor about the constatnt pain and spasms.

Oh yeah. I forgot Edge.

You dont die if u break ur neck if some one snaps it then you die

Posted

Must've confused it with that...I dunno.Anyhow, Helms is one of my favourite cruiserweights ever.I don't get why he's not a maineventer.

Because WWE doesn't like people from the Carolinas.

and also because he is injured! he virtually had main event status with the cruiserweight title tho, he went from being the hurricane to this new gimmick, wwe saw it worked and pushed him into the cruiserweight, he held it for ages and got injured, they didnt really fuck him over there, did they?

Hes impressive his chokeslam was actually pretty good and he has good mic skills and caa nwrestle and sure can sell moves like takers chokeslam!!!1

He did one as The Hurricane all the time.

Oh and people often exaggerate a 'broken neck', it's usually fractured vertebrae. It's like how if you fractured your arm, it's still classed as your broke your arm, but it's nowhere near as bad as a complete break. A complete breakage of your upper vertebrae almost defintely will cause injury to the spinal cord (which runs through the vertebrae), which will almost definitely leave you with some level of paralysis, or dead. A fracture has a good chance of damaging the spinal cord.

So while it's not a minor injury at all, it's very major, it's not always life threatening - it's the spinal cord that determines that. Snapping a neck was mentioned before, that's a technique to snap the spinal cord.

Another example is a broken skull, it can be just a fracture ('just' really is the wrong word here) and not damage the brain at all, although there's a strong chance it will. A true broken skull will almost definitely damage the brain causing....brain damage.

Droz fractured his neck, it wasn't a complete break, he suffers from paraplegia.

Thanks for the whole thing and yeah, as the Hurricane he performed chokeslams all of the time. But I thought of his Helms character.I'm forgetting the whole Hurricane gimmick, although it worked.
