Driving Test Today

I've got my first driving test at 3:27 today, just wondering out of those of you who have taken them before and failed, what have you failed on? I've asked a few people and they've failed on stupid shit that wouldn't even have crossed my mind, like checking you're out fo gear before you start the car, or taking too long at roundabouts.

Thom it matters what kind of instructor you have. that has a major part in passin/failing. but you probably knew that and of course the ill fated Parallel Parking. but if your good at it then you should have no probelms.

Auto or manual?

I got mine the first time, but so much fucked up shit happened during it.

- A car nearly crashed in front of me about 20 seconds into it.

- I was driving along the highway and a car behind me went off road, and overtook me...

- I waited 5 or 6 minutes for a removal truck to move, that was blocking both lanes in a local street, and got a non-critical because i didn't indicate around it when it finally moved.

It's a manual, we don't tend to have automatics in the UK, lazy foreigners.

I'm feeling pretty confident about it, although the pressure's on, my instructor has a 100% success record this week, the 5 people I know he's taught before have passed first time, as have all the guys I know who drive. Gulp.

Good luck with the test, I passed mine first time with only 1 fault and that fault was reversing around a corner, I didn't see a car coming and I carried on and that car had to stop and wait for me, but I was supposed to go back to my original starting position to let the car out, but still I passed, the thing I hate most about learning to drive is the theory test.

Everything was perfect except I looked over the wrong shoulder when I started my reverse behind a parked car, because he was pissing me about and not telling me clearly which maneuver he wanted me to do. Ah well.

Oh, good luck next time man. I hate it that you have to pay about $12 or $20 to retake the test. I forgot.

you pay a hell of alot more than that in the uk to do a test, depedning where and if you have to pay to borrow instructors car etc you could be paying

Can't you just use your own car for driving??Here you just put an L on the back window and you take someone with a license with you and then you can drive.
