The Don Posted September 19, 2007 Author Posted September 19, 2007 Way to add to the topic Subrick! Seriously, I've seen a few of his matches from PRIDE and it's like he is completely different now. I don't know if he's doubting himself, his body or if he's just getting really good opponents now. Him saying he's too old seems like a load of shit to me consider how old Capitan America is... Quote
Nemo Posted September 19, 2007 Posted September 19, 2007 if you go through his losses, they're mostly to guys who are over 6ft tall. as we all learned from his fight against kongo, he relies too much on the head kick, and the taller his opponent is, the harder it is to land it. plus, what exactly is the right age to be getting kneed in the balls? i think im too old for that shit as well. The Don Posted September 19, 2007 Author Posted September 19, 2007 He needs to learn how to fight taller fighters then, that's no excuse. As for getting hit in the balls you can tell it wasn't intentional but unfortunately Kongo is a tall son of a bitch... again, not an excuse. Quote
Heart Breaker Posted September 19, 2007 Posted September 19, 2007 Now, I can't answer whether he'll quit or not or whether he is too old or not. Personally, I think Mirko just had a very bad fight against Kongo. He also got his ribs broken in the first round by Kongo. If I had to make a prediction, I think Mirko will finish out his contract with the UFC, and he'll re-think his position on fighting. It wouldn't surprise me at all to see him quit after this contract expires. Edit. Oh, and if you think he doesn't know how to fight taller fighters... give me a fucking break. Watch his fight with Aleksander Emelianenko if you don't think he can fight taller opponents. Quote
