The Don Posted August 3, 2007 Posted August 3, 2007 So I woke up this morning with my mom screaming into the phone that they're taking my brother to the hospital and all I got from it was it was something with his leg and the garbage truck and my ride would be here in 20 minutes. So we get there in time to see him before he goes into surgery then his wife finally got there so we all left him and her alone. After everything had calmed down we finally found out that he was riding on the back of the recycling truck (like everyone does) and the driver hit a bump or something andhe fell off and got his right leg stuck between the wheel and the wheel well and as it broke the top part of his fibula (or fibula) through his skin and shattered his ankle. After about 4 hours in surgery they said the got the bleeding down and all of that good stuff. Turns out they had to take out a significant amount of muscle in his leg and if it gets worse he might have to have it amputated. So understandibly everyone is pretty shaken up around here and we're gonna go back tomorrow to see him and shit like that then he's gonna have another surgery either Saturday or Sunday depending on if the swelling goes down. Thankfully when we saw him he was in a good mood (first thing he said was for us to stop making fun of his nasty feet) but he dosen't quite know the full extent of what's happened and what might have to happen. And my ldest neice dosen't know yet so it's gonna be really sad to hear and see her after she finds out because she was worried enough about him after his hurnia surgery a few weeks ago. So yeah, shit's kinda rough right now. Quote

RingMaster2001 Posted August 5, 2007 Posted August 5, 2007 This is the best news I've heard in ages. Although, I am distraught it happened to your brother and not you, but as long as it keeps you away from the board, then I'm all for it. Quote
Smacktalks Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 Ouch, hope it works out ok. I can't imagine what it'd be like if I had to have a leg amputated, I'd hate not being able to run or play football (Soccer) Quote
The Don Posted August 7, 2007 Author Posted August 7, 2007 He has (hopefully) his last surgery tomorrow to remove the pump and shit from his leg then on Thursday they are gonna start rehabbing his leg so hopefully he'll be home by the weekend. Quote
