bigpoppn Posted July 21, 2007 Posted July 21, 2007 (edited) So I got the Photoshop CS2 from McTowelie and I "made" "something".Questions: example:You have made a background and you want to put Batista on it, how do you do that? And how do I put shit from Photoshop in here (pictures that i've made)?Because imageshack doesn't work because it's the wrong file and the ST upload thing doesn't work it says : "Upload failed. You are not permitted to upload this type of file". 1st pic is playing around and knowing Photoshop 5 minutes 2nd is cutted RAW logo on it, feel free to comment. Aero Posted July 21, 2007 Posted July 21, 2007 what file type did you sae it as? save it as a png or a jpeg or something, dont think ST accepts the likes of .psp files Quote
Aero Posted July 21, 2007 Posted July 21, 2007 nice start. to add a picture of batista or whatever you want to do it as a new "layer", get a picture of batista you like and get yourself familiar with a background eraser or whatever cs2 uses instead of it. Quote
bigpoppn Posted July 21, 2007 Author Posted July 21, 2007 Thx, I will try but this was made after pushing some random buttons and I became this.To add a pic I should just erase the background and then add? Quote
Nemo Posted July 21, 2007 Posted July 21, 2007 heres a small tutorial on image placement and cutting and whatnot. Step 1: Creating a new image no explanation necessary, yeah? Step 2: Image placement i started off by copying and pasting the background you made into the blank image. since the bg (background) was too big for the dimension i selected, i used the arrow with the crosshair to drag the background so your name appeared in the bottom right corner of the image. i then created a new layer for the image thats going to be placed on the background. this is important because you cant cut images on the same layer as the bg since it would cut both the background and the pic you're trying to cut. so yeah, time to paste the pic onto the bg. i selected the raw pic from your sig to show you how to cut. obviously its not going to be as easy to cut a pic of batista, but you have to know the basics first. once again, i used the arrow with the crosshair to move the logo in that spot. Step 3: Cutting circled on the left is the lasso tool, which is basically what you'll be using to cut. by default, its freehand. since its way too hard to draw an outline around a pic freehand, you're going to want to do it with straight lines or point to point. to the upper right, you see feather circled. feather is beasically fading or softening of the edges. the higher the number, the further into the image it goes. say it was 100, fading would begin at like, the center of the logo. play around with it and you'll see what im talking about. heres a tip though, when cutting pics of people or anything of the sort, you dont wanna feater too much. 1 or 2px should be fine. as mentioned, using the lasso freehand is way too difficult, so you have to use it point to point: holding ALT you click at one point, drag the mouse to another and click again forming a straight cut. from there, you should box out anything else you dont want. in the pic, you can see how i started in the left circled area, made my lines endpoint in the right circle area and then made 2 more points outside the black bits. after you select the area you want to get rid of, you press the DEL button and it'll disappear right click, select "deselect" and you're left with the following: not the faded edge on the top, thats what feathering does. thats pretty much it. when you cut batista, you're gonna have to cut a lot of rounded edges. to do so, you just use the straight edge and made a lot of tangent lines (the more you make, the smoother the cut will be: as mentioned, the more lines you make, the smoother the cut will be. also, try to not cut right on the edge since feathering will get rid of that little space between your cut and the pic you're cutting. also, zooming in (use the magnifying glass) helps too. while cutting is fairly easy to pick up on, you wont master it overnight. keep at it and you'll be making smooth cuts in no time. if you need any more help just ask. plus, theres lots and lots and lots of photoshop tutorials you can find online. in fact you can check out the list supa posted here: http://smacktalks.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=6699 have fun.
