jitz Posted June 29, 2007 Posted June 29, 2007 Awesome, Nicole even loved it. It' no cinematic masterpiece, like don't mistake it for the sequel to Schindler's List. It is what it is, and that's a movie about transforming vehicles that fight each other. There's also a tiny love subplot, but it's so tiny that the cheesiness doesn't overpower the movie too much. It's long, it's good, it has a masturbation joke. It's Transformers. Oh and be sure to hang around a few minutes into the credits, there's a small scene that hmmm, trying to avoid spoilers here. There's 3 seconds of something that I thought was a gaping plot hole, but they showed this 3 seconds. Oh and some characters that the movie led you to believe would become important in the end actually are just completely forgotten about and never shown again. I could look past that though because there was loud explosions and crunching metal before my eyes. Quote
samountain Posted June 30, 2007 Posted June 30, 2007 (edited) I agree. Very good movie. This is coming from someone who thought he was going to hate it. I never watched the cartoon either though. But yeah, it had the right amount of cheese and comedy to make up for the bits where there weren't huge robots fighting, and then they had huge robots fighting. What plothole though? I didn't pick up on anything. I did stay for all the credits. Edited June 30, 2007 by samountain Quote
samountain Posted June 30, 2007 Posted June 30, 2007 Oh, and at one point the guy goes "there's more than meets the eye" to the chick and everyone started laughing and I didn't get it. Then my friend explained it and said all the nerds were laughing. I thought that was funny. Also, at the end everyone started clapping. Who does that? I know in the US everybody does it, but what the hell?! Why?! It's a movie. Who acknowledges the clap? The reel guy? C'mon. C'MON! Quote
jitz Posted June 30, 2007 Author Posted June 30, 2007 Some people tried to start a clap at the end of our screening too, but when no one joined in after 5 seconds they quit. Optimus Prime also did a variation of his classic "Autobots, transform and roll out", it was shortened to "Autobots, roll out". Megatron also makes a comment to Starscream saying "You've failed me yet again Starscream". Which is yet another reference to the cartoon. The gaping plothole was SPOILER WARNING - Starscream, being completely forgotten about on Earth, alive and well. In the end however, he flies off into space during the credits - leaving it open for a sequel. Quote
CS Posted July 11, 2007 Posted July 11, 2007 I went to that movie with my girlfriend expecting to not watch most of it but ended up completely ignoring her the entire time because I couldn't look away from the screen. That movie made me feel like an 8 year old boy again. Quote
Thom Posted July 11, 2007 Posted July 11, 2007 Warning! The Transformers Movie will cause you to end any relationships in favour of going out with an 8 year old boy. Quote
Spectre Posted July 12, 2007 Posted July 12, 2007 I really lIke the movie, had excellent fight scenes and it had humor, i hope they make a second one where just like in all the series Starscream get all powerful Megatron comes back, turns to Galvatron.I dont about you european and Aussie guys, but with Transformers there was that J.J Abrams Unnamed movie, doesnt even have a title and it looks good. Thom Posted July 12, 2007 Posted July 12, 2007 Read it again, it was a response to Jordan claming the movie made him feel like an 8 year old boy. Quote
Aero Posted July 13, 2007 Posted July 13, 2007 i just ignored the end of jordans post, thought you where implying he WAS an 8 year old which led to my inappropriate post :D2 Quote
Kosta12 Posted July 13, 2007 Posted July 13, 2007 I haven't seen it yet but I think it isn't very good.Oh well I'll probably watch it anyway! Quote
The Don Posted July 22, 2007 Posted July 22, 2007 Me and my buddy went to see it last night, damn good film. The only complaint we had was the fact that it was somewhat hard to follow the battles due to them being so fast and the camera being too close. But that didn't stop be from downloading ti as soon as I got home, can't wait for it on Bluray. Quote
Nemo Posted August 1, 2007 Posted August 1, 2007 fucking awesome movie. thats all i gots to say. Quote
CS Posted August 4, 2007 Posted August 4, 2007 Seen it three times now, still just as great. The robot fight scenes look less like random moving metal and more like actual fight scenes the second time around. Quote
jitz Posted August 4, 2007 Author Posted August 4, 2007 I'm with The Don patiently awaiting the Blu-Ray, it'll look and sound fantastic. Quote
