Chillalex Posted June 12, 2007 Posted June 12, 2007 I am thinking of starting to do a creature design a day. Or probably more like 2 days, with my schedule. I got some free time during a current job Im doing so I started on an existing concept I had knocking about, for a game. Thought id visualise it a bit better so I did this. Took about 3 hours in total. Hopefully I will be posting more soon, as I get free time. Quote
Big Bizang Posted June 13, 2007 Posted June 13, 2007 There's definitely something very phallic about it. Freud would have a field day. But he was a fucking idiot so never mind. Quote
Chillalex Posted August 5, 2007 Author Posted August 5, 2007 yes actually lol got bored tonight so I done a concept piece almost done and I did a quick turnaround the other day of a simple thing called "Panopticon". He took 3 hours from concept to finished model for a game. Will post in like half hour Quote
Chillalex Posted August 5, 2007 Author Posted August 5, 2007 (edited) Panopticon : Wanted to do some art nouveau style hair and failed miserably. But at least it was a quick model. Spiderthing (no name yet) : Happy with how the head came out as the flesh tones were all done well quick and came out nicely. I do not look forward to modelling this. It is my first attempt at proper concept art and its come out alright, better than id expected, but its still flawed. I hate that my webspace is down. Bastards. edit: with the spider thing there is definitely a male dork influence this time, on the head. Couldnt think of anything else to do so I did a dork with a lady garden as its mouth. Fozy Posted August 5, 2007 Posted August 5, 2007 It's awesome, lmao. I still prefer your first though. I'd like too see the finals of these. Quote
Joe =/ Posted August 5, 2007 Posted August 5, 2007 Panopticon, the evil green banana. That's some crazy shit. Nice shit though. Quote
Nemo Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 the banana face thing reminds me of mike from monsters inc. not too keen on the err, spider penis thing either. your monsters arent 100% TOUGH, or scary. two things that they should be. Quote
bigpoppn Posted August 9, 2007 Posted August 9, 2007 They aren't though but they are childish-though and I like that. Quote
Chillalex Posted August 16, 2007 Author Posted August 16, 2007 Gonna model spider-penis head some day soon. Chillalex Posted August 17, 2007 Author Posted August 17, 2007 Was looking at my ladies dress and the pattern sparked something off, and now the theme is of a giant chili. read that sentence carefully Quote
Aero Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 ffs, i clicked the link and looked at the pictures, you said nothing about reading. Quote
Chillalex Posted August 17, 2007 Author Posted August 17, 2007 yeah, I understand your a very busy person and therefore dont have the time always to read words. Quote
Chillalex Posted September 9, 2007 Author Posted September 9, 2007 (edited) this topic is now about my concept art in general not just creatures too many character artists in the industry. Everyone wants to do characters not enough environments so im starting environments now did this today level concept for another game, "Urban Violence". Took a break from Bloom as it is boring me a bit but I'll get back to it after the sabbath! Quick painting, done in PSCS3 experimenting with the brushes... I quite like it! I like the style I'm starting to get. its a cage tower in a warehouse. edit: might be too bright on here, bloody monitor differences Edited September 9, 2007 by Chillalex Quote
Joe =/ Posted September 10, 2007 Posted September 10, 2007 Dude, I really don't understand what the fuck you make, but it always looks so nicely done. The reduced version of that picture (88% reduced) looks like a decapitated body. See what i'm seein, nigguh ? Quote
