The Don Posted May 18, 2007 Posted May 18, 2007 I know there was a topic like this before but I can't be bothered looking for it. So what's everyone reading here? Personall I'm reading two books... I have The Hardcore Daries by Mick Folly in the shitter right now because it's chapter are a good length to read while droping a deuce. It's really good (as I've told HB) and you all need to give it a look. By my computer I have Children of the Matrix by David Icke. I jsut borrowed it from my buddy yesterday so I'm only like 20 pages in but it's pretty good... if you're into the whole conspiracy theory stuff. What I've gotten from it thus far is that all the powerful people in the "known history" of the world are all some sort of descendants from an alien like species. It sounds real far fetched but hey. I don't think that's what the book is about because that who section wasn't a chapter, just called "Plot." I'm assuming it's all about the governements and stuff that you don't see or hear about. I.E. the Illuminati and New World Order. So let's see what everyone else is reading... maybe someone will sticky this. Quote
jitz Posted May 18, 2007 Posted May 18, 2007 Dude if you have time to read a page let alone a chapter of a book, while taking a shit, you seriously need to increase your fibre intake. Quote
The Don Posted May 18, 2007 Author Posted May 18, 2007 Dude if you have time to read a page let alone a chapter of a book, while taking a shit, you seriously need to increase your fibre intake. For some reason I get my reading done in ther shitter. I'll start a page and decide to finish reading the chapter. Oh and that Children of the Matrix book I'm reading seems to be more about The Illuminati and Freemasonry. Thus far it's more about openeing your eyes and wondering who's benifiting from this and that. Aero, isn't this the 5th time you've read Walk This Way? But it is a damn good book so read on, I read it back in 6th grade and be damned if I can find where I put it. Quote
Big Bizang Posted May 18, 2007 Posted May 18, 2007 People still read David Icke? Is it the 80s again already? You do remember this guy claiming to be Jesus incarnate don't you? I am rereading the three books I'm going to concentrate on for one of my exams on Wednesday. Room at the Top by John Braine, The Lonely Londoners by Simon Selvon and The End of the Affair by Graham Greene. All of which are highly recommended especially the last one. Quote

You've peaked my interest. Please enlighten me. The guy used to wear nothing but shellsuits and appeared on a chat show to shill his new book some time in the 80s claiming to be the second coming of Jesus Christ. Hilarious because the audience quite literally couldn't stop laughing at him. There was a constant murmur of laughter all the time he was talking, even the host couldn't keep it together and all he could say was 'I'm glad you're laughing, don't you think Jesus would want there to be laughter and joy?' Other than that the fact that he writes books on how mutant space lizards and controlling the universe is the only proof I need that he's a prick. Quote
manDude Posted May 18, 2007 Posted May 18, 2007 Hmm, Currently I'm reading Rickles' Book by Don Rickles, I'm almost done, so I'm thinking of picking up both the new Einstein Biography, and Hardcore diares Quote

samountain Posted May 19, 2007 Posted May 19, 2007 (edited) This topic!! I'm reading American Psycho. It's pretty funny, and everything is well described. I'm enjoying it. Next I plan to read King Dork. It's a young teenagers book but it's written by the lead singer/songwriter/guitarist for one of my favourite bands, and it's supposed to be pretty funny. Plus Will Farrell bought the movie rights and I think the movie comes out for it next year. Annd after that I want to read Battle Royale. I quite liked the movie so I want to see how the book compares. Andd after that I have no idea, I wouldn't mind a more drama-based book about people going through hardships or something. There was this book I bought in Cambodia years ago about a family's struggles during the Pol-Pot regime, and the book was missing like 3 chapters right in the middle, like, the pages were completely absent. I'll go and find a proper copy of that. It takes me like 5 months to finish a book anyway. Edited May 19, 2007 by samountain Quote
jitz Posted May 19, 2007 Posted May 19, 2007 You've peaked my interest. Please enlighten me. It's 'piqued'. He piqued your interest. It's a common mistake which is why i'm correcting you on it. Quote
Big Bizang Posted May 19, 2007 Posted May 19, 2007 I read American Pyscho and wanted my time back. I really did not need that book in my life. Battle Royale is an amazing book. Quote
Subrick Posted May 19, 2007 Posted May 19, 2007 The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton. Only reason is for English report. Quote
Big Bizang Posted May 19, 2007 Posted May 19, 2007 It was originally a book I think. If you can get past the endless passages of characters gushing about how great Bruce Springsteen is, it's very good. Quote
