samountain Posted May 16, 2007 Posted May 16, 2007 Okay, why not. I need help people, especially those of you with styleeee. That and this is going to be a journal so I can track my progress, but also need suggestions and that. Generally speaking, I want to improve my physical aspects. Not like "ooh im so depressed with how I look blah blah blah" but hey, if you can make gold goldier, why not. right? (I honestly could not think of an analogy that was fitting. The gold thing was pretty lame, sorry.) Fitness: Anyway, so as for staying fit I'm going to join a gym after exams and I can stick to that schedule because I have mates that go in a group. In the meantime I'm bike riding and going for jogs with a few other mates to keep my cardio up and stuff like that. Right now I weigh 70kgs. I think that is JUST above my BMI, which I usually don't go by but if you've seen my "The Gun Thread" (search the gun thread), I doubt much of it muscles. Hair: Here's what I need help with. My hair is very thick and usually I didn't care, it just kind of sticks out goes into a fro. But I want to make it a neater fro, so what products do people use for haircare, especially for thick hair? I don't have a pic right now but I'll put a new one up later so you have something to work with, but I'm pretty sure you've all seen it, except the last one was like a year and a half growth, that was just ridiculous. It was an outlier, if you will. Continuing with the thick hair, shaving. Blahhh. Shavings such a hassle. I've tried some electric shaver and it just pulled the hair and didn't actually cut. I've tried other razors but they don't get a close enough shave, and they make it hard to shave the hard spots, what with numerous blades and all. So I've basically always used disposable blades. They're not good for your skin but they get closer than anything else, though I still have that gay "shadow." So what razors do you people use? I don't want to damage my skin, but I want a smooth close shave. Clothes: Usually I just buy clothes and sometimes they work really well. But those are few and far between. So I'm gonna buy a shitload of clothes cause I think I've mix and matched everything that works enough. So any help with what clothes would be good!!!!!! But you don't have to. I'll probably just go to the shops and buy whatever looks good, and I'm guessing thats the best thing to do. I have this feeling I'm going to regret making this topic, but fuck it, and fuck yoooooooooooooooouuuu. Quote
scoot Posted May 16, 2007 Posted May 16, 2007 i think 'Thom help me out??' would be a more fitting title for this thread. however i always reccomend TRESemme for hair, always works wonders i find. Quote
Thom Posted May 16, 2007 Posted May 16, 2007 Fitness: Sounds like you've got this one sorted, just make sure you don't over-do it. I did that a few weekends ago and it got me out of routine, I'm only just getting back into it now, which set me back a bit. Also might I suggest buying a muscle toning belt/pads? I got one yesterday and they're great fun. Not sure how effective it is yet, but I'll keep you posted. Also, revive the guns thread, I'll take a peice of this action. Hair: I'm gonna need to see a picture of it before I can give any advice on this. Facial hair: Asian guys are meant to have facial hair. That's why your first beard comes before your first birthday. You guys have the most perfect facial hair to work with, it'd be a crime to just shave it all off, plus going to the bathroom every 15 minutes to shave it can't be convenient. I'd suggest getting a good quality beard trimmer, trim it to a length you think looks good, and try a few different styles. Fashion: Toughy. It all depends what's in wherever you are right now, what sort of look you want to go for, how much you want to stand out/blend in, different places you're going to be going, if you want to make a statement, etc etc. Basically though, all you need for an entire seasons outfitting is a few good quality pairs of jeans (Levi, Edwin, Cheap Monday, Nudie) of varying fit, couple of pairs of shorts, Hi Top Nike Dunks, Lo Top Nike Dunks, and something like a pair of Converse or plain Slip-ons. Get a couple of signature items maybe, and match it all up with a bunch of genuine vintage tees from eBay, or fitted polo shirts by Fred Perry or Lyle & Scott. Just a few ideas, I'll be happy to lend more help should you need it. Quote
Fozy Posted May 16, 2007 Posted May 16, 2007 He's indian. You know what his hair's gonna be like. Quote
Thom Posted May 16, 2007 Posted May 16, 2007 Dir...Damn, serious discussion. I know a lot of Indian people, they don't by any means have the same hair type. Quote
Thom Posted May 18, 2007 Posted May 18, 2007 Are you getting too much pussy after following my advice to thank me for it? Quote
Heart Breaker Posted May 18, 2007 Posted May 18, 2007 Fitness: Like Thom said, you sound like you've got it figured out. Just stay commited to your work out. Hair: I've honestly never heard anyone asking about how to style a fro. Usually they are meant to be a hairstyle that no one really fucks with. They just get out of the shower, rub their head/hair. And go on with their day. So it'd be really hard to even give you advice on that. Yeah. Pics would be a nice reference. Shaving: I'm a bad person to ask about that. I use disposables as well. I hate fucking shaving. It's the worst thing about being a guy. I just put some water on my face, and shave in the shower with a disposable Gilette razor. Nothing special. But it does get the job done for me. Wouldn't recommend it though for a "smooth close shave." Clothes: It's hard to give advice about clothes because people can be so different when it comes to clothes. Give me jeans and a t-shirt, and I'll be on my way. Personally I'm a huge fan of jeans with a little wear and tear on them. That's a nice reference. Not too bad, but it doesn't look new, yet still maintains a bit of style. Wear that with a nice polo and you'll be rolling in the pussy, Sangay! Quote
samountain Posted May 19, 2007 Author Posted May 19, 2007 (edited) Thanks Thom and HB. I asked my friend about hair advice and he said he went to this hairdresser and asked for this specific guy so I'm going to try that. I'll post some before pics in a few hours or something, when I get a chance to use the webcam. More questions coming soon!! Edit: I think the gun thread is gone. Couldn't find it. samountain Posted May 23, 2007 Author Posted May 23, 2007 It's Journal you moron, not Journel Here's a question. What cologne/deodorant do you guys use? And in which situation is cologne acceptable anyway? I always use Lynx but it irritates my skin like a motherfucker and causes me to sweat which is a hassle, so I'm about ready for a change and am going to look into more expensive things, oho yes. ALSO, whats a good easy way to whiten my teeth. They're not like YELLOW, but they're not blinding people either, and unless I've made a strong impact in people's life I'm not going to be happy. What toothpaste etc. I know it sounds stupid asking what toothpaste but my mum gets this shitty indian crap which is supposed to be some branch in paste form and its fucking disgusting. What would YOU recommend? Quote
Aero Posted May 24, 2007 Posted May 24, 2007 wank on a toothbrush! lol nah, my girlfriend always raves about some shit she gets to whiten her teeth, she smokes and yet her teeth are shiney white all the time. as for the lynx thing, have you tried lynx dry? if so i dunno, o dont venture further afield that lynx really. that said i got a hugo boss deodorant & edt set, they accomapny eachother very, very well making it acceptable to wear both at all times apparently. Quote
Thom Posted May 24, 2007 Posted May 24, 2007 I'd recommend Pearl Drops toothpaste, a womens anti-perperant with a neutral scent such as Sure Crystal (I discovered this by going in a local tanning studio, they offer deodorant in the sunbooths for when you're getting ready afterwards. You could also go to Lush and buy a deodorant bar, they do them in unisex scents. You don't want your deodorant to smell too strongly, just pleasant and fresh. As for cologne, go for an averagely-priced Eau De Toilet such as something like Hugo Boss, Versace Blue Jeans, or Armani Black/White for general day-to-day use, and for special occasions such as nights out when I really want to wow the ladies, Jean Paul Gaultier Pour Homme Eau De Parfum is the very greatest scent in the world. Don't get those jeans or anything pre-aged/worn. Buy quality, raw, selvege denim and it'll last you years. And if you're going for the vintage look then buy genuine vintage items, not high-street imitations. Quote
Aero Posted May 24, 2007 Posted May 24, 2007 pearl drops are BAD for your teeth thom, should only be used every so often, there is better "everyday" toothpaste out there that doesnt stip away enamel etc... other than that, good advice Quote
Thom Posted May 24, 2007 Posted May 24, 2007 There are all sorts of whitening toothpastes. General ones such as Colgate don't actually work, so you have to go specialist to see any results. Quote
Aero Posted May 25, 2007 Posted May 25, 2007 aye, this stuff is specialist, cant remember the name tho, i just know pearl drops are outdated by better stuff now. Quote
Thom Posted May 25, 2007 Posted May 25, 2007 Hollywood Smile perhaps? There's plenty on the market. Quote
Thom Posted June 5, 2007 Posted June 5, 2007 I'm warning you guys, following my advice will empower you to get girls who look like this; Quote
Trips Posted June 6, 2007 Posted June 6, 2007 The only joke I can think of here comes from Liar Liar, and I'm sure we both know the bra reference Archer. Quote
