Big Bizang Posted May 18, 2007 Posted May 18, 2007 The symbiote can survive by itself but it very clearly burned up after the explosion that killed Brock. Fire is one of the two things it's weak against along with loud noises at a certain frequency. I found it odd that Venom didn't dodge a huge fucking brick dropped on his head by that bint Kursten Dunst (bitten by a radioactive dog) because he's supposed to have fucking Spider-sense. And when was the last time you saw that thing work for Spidey. It's like the cartoon: 'My spider-sense is tingling.' Boxes fall on him. IF YOU KNEW IT WAS COMING, FUCKING MOVE! Quote
Aero Posted May 18, 2007 Posted May 18, 2007 the symbiote taking the essence of a host is debatable. iirc, venom doesnt have the spider sense, which means the symbiote took nothing from spiderman other than his memories. then again, venom has a way to get around the spider sense - so it could be an inherited power. or it could just be the symbiotes nature of going undetected - which would explain why spiderman didnt notice it until it bonded with him. The symbiote can survive by itself but it very clearly burned up after the explosion that killed Brock. Fire is one of the two things it's weak against along with loud noises at a certain frequency. Nemo Posted May 21, 2007 Posted May 21, 2007 wikipedia says nothing about venom having the spider sense. thats all the research im doing. Quote
Aero Posted May 21, 2007 Posted May 21, 2007 im pretty sure he didnt have spidey sense also, he was always able to seek out spidey easy enough and could bypass spidermans sense but i thought that was the extent of it. that said its quite likely im wrong, will text my bro tho, he should know now that i think about it. Quote
Big Bizang Posted May 22, 2007 Posted May 22, 2007 I would swear to god he had spider-sense but I'm doubting myself more and more now. Quote
Spectre Posted May 22, 2007 Posted May 22, 2007 i Finally saw Spider man 3 and its was...ok not the best though. i think Spider man 4 going to suck because tobey mcguire isnt spiderman and Sam Rami isnt directing it. the only reason for me to go see it is carnage. Quote
scoot Posted May 22, 2007 Posted May 22, 2007 how many people have played James Bond?? 6, how many people have played Batman?? i dont know but its more than 3. look at superman 2 with its diffrent directors, and diffrent outcoming films. theres no reason at all that the next film cant be fucking amazing. its not as likley sure but its still possible. Quote
Big Bizang Posted May 22, 2007 Posted May 22, 2007 4 Batmen unless you count the 60s Batman film, then 5. I think it's about time Tobey Maguire stepped down. Last film was not Peter Parker, just a caricature of him. Jake Gyllenhall for Peter. Quote
Nemo Posted May 23, 2007 Posted May 23, 2007 can anyone please provide some concrete evidence that raimi wont be directing 4? if not, then shut the fuck up because im sick of hearing it. Quote
cm punk1 Posted May 23, 2007 Posted May 23, 2007 can somone tall me who will be playing spider man or will tobey still be playing the role Quote
Spectre Posted May 23, 2007 Posted May 23, 2007 can anyone please provide some concrete evidence that raimi wont be directing 4? if not, then shut the fuck up because im sick of hearing it. Give me some time sal, once im done being lazy ill research. Quote
Aero Posted May 23, 2007 Posted May 23, 2007 confirmation from my brother the comic book geek, 100% venom doesnt have spider sesne. also, last i heard, tobey had accepted that $20-25million offer to do spiderman 4 Quote
Big Bizang Posted May 23, 2007 Posted May 23, 2007 Best way to open Spider-man 4: Spider-man swinging around the city talking about over the last few years he's had his ups and downs and all that shit but on the whole it's great being Spider-man, he lands on a building and whips the mask off and it Gyllenhall with blonde hair! OMFG Clone Saga! Come on it's be ace. Or shit whatever. Quote
Niles Jansen The Third Posted May 26, 2007 Posted May 26, 2007 I actually foresee the clone saga ending the series in the fifth film. Maybe have it play the same way as the comic book- well sort of- and have the original Goblin come back. Seriously, I don't care really about Venom as much at this point as I do about Topher Grace. I think he did a pretty good job. Besides, moving forwards with Carnage is probably best- just to keep giving him have one most dominant challenger in each film. Quote
Nemo Posted May 26, 2007 Posted May 26, 2007 you think venom was a dominant challenger? consider this: - harry gets hit with a pumpkin bomb and gets a scar - eddie and the symbiote both get hit with a pumpkin bomb and are vaporized - the sandman not only took a pumpkin bomb, but had his face driven into a moving train, was turned to mush with sewer water, and had a flame thrower in his face, yet walked away completely unscathed if anything, the sandman was the dominant challenger with harry coming in second. Quote
Niles Jansen The Third Posted May 26, 2007 Posted May 26, 2007 Good call. I think the more fitting phrase would be 'best marketed' rather then dominant - or else the most anticipated villain. Quote
Big Bizang Posted May 26, 2007 Posted May 26, 2007 Yes well, Eddie without the symbiote was just a normal guy so wouldn't it make more sense that the bomb did more damage to a normal guy than it did to Spider-man and Harry and Sandman who have had their strength genetically altered. Also the symbiote is weak against fire. IT'S SUPER EFFECTIVE! Quote
Nemo Posted May 26, 2007 Posted May 26, 2007 thats not the point. the point is that venom was the easiest kill in any of the movies. getting into the specifics of a completely made up weapon is too nerdy for my liking, but a pumpkin bomb shouldnt be able to vaporize someone. thats bullshit. Quote
Big Bizang Posted May 26, 2007 Posted May 26, 2007 True, he should've escaped, or have fallen into Sandman as he was falling apart or something. Or Eddie dies but the symbiote slinks away, Venom should always be a threat. Quote
