the symbiote taking the essence of a host is debatable. iirc, venom doesnt have the spider sense, which means the symbiote took nothing from spiderman other than his memories. then again, venom has a way to get around the spider sense - so it could be an inherited power. or it could just be the symbiotes nature of going undetected - which would explain why spiderman didnt notice it until it bonded with him.

im pretty sure he didnt have spidey sense also, he was always able to seek out spidey easy enough and could bypass spidermans sense but i thought that was the extent of it.

i Finally saw Spider man 3 and its was...ok not the best though. i think Spider man 4 going to suck because tobey mcguire isnt spiderman and Sam Rami isnt directing it. the only reason for me to go see it is carnage.

Best way to open Spider-man 4: Spider-man swinging around the city talking about over the last few years he's had his ups and downs and all that shit but on the whole it's great being Spider-man, he lands on a building and whips the mask off and it Gyllenhall with blonde hair! OMFG Clone Saga!

I actually foresee the clone saga ending the series in the fifth film.

Maybe have it play the same way as the comic book- well sort of- and have the original Goblin come back.

Seriously, I don't care really about Venom as much at this point as I do about Topher Grace. I think he did a pretty good job.

Besides, moving forwards with Carnage is probably best- just to keep giving him have one most dominant challenger in each film.

you think venom was a dominant challenger? consider this:

- harry gets hit with a pumpkin bomb and gets a scar

- eddie and the symbiote both get hit with a pumpkin bomb and are vaporized

- the sandman not only took a pumpkin bomb, but had his face driven into a moving train, was turned to mush with sewer water, and had a flame thrower in his face, yet walked away completely unscathed

if anything, the sandman was the dominant challenger with harry coming in second.

Yes well, Eddie without the symbiote was just a normal guy so wouldn't it make more sense that the bomb did more damage to a normal guy than it did to Spider-man and Harry and Sandman who have had their strength genetically altered. Also the symbiote is weak against fire. IT'S SUPER EFFECTIVE!

getting into the specifics of a completely made up weapon is too nerdy for my liking, but a pumpkin bomb shouldnt be able to vaporize someone. thats bullshit.

True, he should've escaped, or have fallen into Sandman as he was falling apart or something. Or Eddie dies but the symbiote slinks away, Venom should always be a threat.
