tekken57 Posted April 26, 2007 Posted April 26, 2007 I've found a way to access some of the texture files in the CH.pac files. Unfortunatley they seem to be the textures from the create a wrestler mode and not of the in game superstars. anyways I figure that this may help in building an extractor/rebuilder. The method i've used to extract the textures is as follows: 1. Make an image of the game on your cpu 2. Open the CH.PAC file. using AFS Explorer v.3.7. Click file - import AFS file from CD image. Just say yes to all the warnings that appear. 3. Scroll to the bottom of the file list until you come across the files called blank_255 onwards. 4. right click on these files and click on extract. 5. Rename the extracted files to have a "tm2" extension. 6. Open the tm2 file with game graphics studio and click on scan for graphic files. 7. The bigger tm2 files (around 100mb) should have about 3000 graphic files, you can extract these. I have no idea how to put these into the game or wether they are used at all in the game. These textures seem to be repeated in few files. Here's a pic if anybody thinks I'm lying about this: Quote
mikenorm Posted April 30, 2007 Posted April 30, 2007 O.K I have gotten as far as getting some custom graphics back onto the CD image, now I have to convert it back to ps2 game format and thats where i run into a snag. The files I changed were the CAW design files. (ex. I took a rose and repleced it with mr. #1derful for the back of my paul orndorffs tights. I also put in stars for randy savages trunks and macho man for the back. I know I can write out macho man, but if I do it this way I have 7 more layers to use.) just did those as a trial, i am still working on converting it back. If anyone knows how please help because with any luck we are real close to changing some of the graphic files. Quote
DRAVEN Posted April 30, 2007 Posted April 30, 2007 Their not caw parts they are parts of the wrestlers if u still have svr have a look at that and u will see what I mean CH.pac files are for wrestlers.. Ed.pac are the caw parts.. Quote

When I put custom graphics back into the ch.pac file using game graphics studio and afc explorer, the game just freezes. Their not caw parts they are parts of the wrestlers if u still have svr have a look at that and u will see what I mean CH.pac files are for wrestlers.. Ed.pac are the caw parts.. I thought the same thing but the ch.pac files contain the pictures from the caw mode in the exact order they appear in the game. all the letters alphabets and characters from the caw mode are also in the same file in the order it appears in the caw mode. there are other files within ch.pac which I think contain the wrestler textures but game graphics studio returns those as "unknown file format". mikenorm Posted April 30, 2007 Posted April 30, 2007 (edited) Here is my progress so far. I got them back into the game without it freezing. The only problem was that the new graphics are not there. I found them duplicated into CH2.PAC. Which I did not change the first time around. Either they are duplicated in all the CH.PACs or Draven is right and they are not the right files. My problem is that I cannot open CH3.PAC to edit that. Edited April 30, 2007 by mikenorm Quote

I'm having the same problem opening ch3.pac. Quote

I'm having the same problem opening ch3.pac. I just put the game files into a folder on my desktop(not the disc image). I went into the PAC file and cut and deleted the CH and CH2 pac files and replace them with the new ones that I messed with in GGS, but it didn't matter anyway because the designs I entered weren't there in the game. After I replaced the CH files I burned it with NERO and that was it. I may have just gotten lucky that it didn't freeze. I haven't had much of a chance to do anything with it for alack of time. I also tried to open the CAW belt files, but there hundreds of sub folders, and everyone I've checked says it has no graphic files, but I would imagine some of them contain graphic files. Quote

Game graphics studio only replaces the files in the big files containing the textures. you still need to import these into the ch file with affs explorer, for the changes to be reflected. I dont know if you've done that already. The gane just freezes when I do this. i cant seem to find any files in the blet or ed ch pac files either which makes me suspect that the textures are in another format. Quote
