scoot Posted April 9, 2007 Posted April 9, 2007 the trailer looks as though what Mr Zombie has tried to do, is take a slasher horror legend, and turn it on its head, to bring it to the modern day horror genre. i like the trailer, but it makes me wonder if the film can live up to the trailer now. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TxKAkD5uhkQ Quote
jitz Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 Rob Zombie will not only deliver, he will deliver in such a sick, twisted brilliant way that 80% of the movie go'ers won't understand where's he's coming from, but those other 20% will herald it as the greatest horror movie of the 21st century. Rob Zombie is a god to whomever can see his brilliance, and he's only made 2 movies. Quote
Nemo Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 the devils rejects sucked. chinese, japanese, dirty knees, look at these! Quote
jitz Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 The Devil's Rejects is excellent, so much so that he was handed the one of horror's main franchises. So any opinion that it "sucked" doesn't matter, because it's obviously wrong. Quote
scoot Posted April 10, 2007 Author Posted April 10, 2007 isnt it impossible for an oppinion to be wrong? what one person believes is always true to them, it may be that devils rejects was a great film, but i Sal didnt like it, theres not much anyone can do to change his oppinion or tell him he is wrong, because thats what he believes Quote
Nemo Posted April 11, 2007 Posted April 11, 2007 The Devil's Rejects is excellent, so much so that he was handed the one of horror's main franchises... the last halloween movie came out nearly 10 years ago, and that also sucked. as far as being handed one of horrors "main" franchises, how many "main" fucking franchises are there? freddy vs jason. done. halloween 9. done. dawn of the dead. done. whats next? another hellraiser movie? night of the living dead after next? they're just milking the series dry. having rob directing it is just a way to sell it to his cult following. to add to what scoot said, i can like and dislike whatever i fucking want. i had this same argument with yogan over lotr. i still hate the entire trilogy. His opinion that it was made nearly ten years ago is wrong, it was less than 5 years ago. Fuck will the world collapse on itself because somebody's opinion was wrong? No. People are wrong about shit every fucking day. Opinions at the time heralded Titanic as the greatest movie ever made, that opinion was wrong because everyone in hindsight has seen the movie for the crap it really was. A lot of opinions about the genocide err war err attack, ahh whatever America is calling it these days, in Iraq have changed - because they were wrong. Man refuses to accept responsibility for his words, and created the bullshit notion that an opinion can't be wrong, and there is no wrong answer to a question to protect his weakness. Admitting something is not to your tastes is what the normal non-dickhead variety person does. 300 for example is a fantastic movie, but if you're over 50 or a complete pansy with a thirst for Danielle Steel drama, chances are you're not going to like it. Doesn't make it suck, because it did what it set out to do it the best way possible. People shit on Michael Jackson all the time, yeah the guy is covered in plastic surgery, yeah he's extremely weird; fact is he's one of the greatest performers to have ever taken to the stage, it's simply not debatable. Any opinion that Michael Jackson sucked is wrong. The Devil's Rejects told to story of a small group of demented misfit killers and their escape from the local law enforcement; and it did it better than any movie to have preceded it. Any opinion that the movie sucked is wrong, because there is not a better example of that time of movie on shelves. If there is, fucking name it because I'll buy it tomorrow. Quote
Nemo Posted April 12, 2007 Posted April 12, 2007 so its ok to not like 300 if you're over 50 or a pansy? if a member here who was over 50 and/or a pansy made a post saying they hated 300, would you write them a good essay about how they're wrong and how you decide whether a movie sucks or not? i can just imagine what i'll be in for if i make a thread about 300 being mediocre. im glad there are no other movies like tdr. one movie about a bunch of "demented" inbred hicks going around the middle of nowhere killing a bunch of other inbred hicks was bad enough. the world doesnt need another. also, halloween h20 (the movie i was referring to) came out almost 10 years ago. i completely forgot about resurrection, which was a good thing because that movie sucked as well. you hear that, it sucked. SUCKED. your reply accomplishes nothing. tdr still sucks and the halloween legacy, like michael jacksons, has been killed. Quote
Chillalex Posted April 13, 2007 Posted April 13, 2007 im glad there are no other movies like tdr. one movie about a bunch of "demented" inbred hicks going around the middle of nowhere killing a bunch of other inbred hicks was bad enough. the world doesnt need another. The Hills Have Eyes (x3) Texas Chainsaw suckacre(see what I did there?) (xabout7) House of Wax interesting that all those that I listed have also been remade recently... apparently we like to watch films about hicks. Yeah, ok. And dear god dont even suggest or hint at a new Hellraiser. After Pinhead in Space, I sort of wish Id died. Terrible fucking film. And you are right, H20 sucked balls. and TDR wasnt really much good. Neither was House of 1000 Corpses. I really hope the Halloween necrorape isnt that bad... but it will be. But this time itll be all gritty and real, like!!! Quote
Nemo Posted April 13, 2007 Posted April 13, 2007 Your life accomplishes nothing. 2001 called, they want their insult back. and alex, the hills have eyes is a total exception. those folks only turned into killers because of the radiation from the nuke that was tested there or something. prior to that, it was all good in the hood. i slept through house of wax (not because it sucked, it was like 3am), but im pretty sure the victims werent hicks either. the new halloween will be decent, due to the fact that things cant really get much worse. Quote
Aero Posted April 13, 2007 Posted April 13, 2007 house of wax was good for 2 reasons 1. the wax guys eyes when he's at the piano 2. paris hilto dies its bad for too many reasons to list, the chief one however is that paris hilton is in it. Quote
jitz Posted April 14, 2007 Posted April 14, 2007 2001 called, they want their insult back. 1996 has politely asked that you to stop ringing up their phone bill. Quote
Nemo Posted April 14, 2007 Posted April 14, 2007 that made no sense whatsoever. to ring up their phone bill, id have to travel back in time to 96 and make a bunch of long distance calls on their phone, granted domestic calls in the us and puerto rico are free. some jokes just cant be reworded, no matter how clever you are. Quote
jitz Posted April 15, 2007 Posted April 15, 2007 Sal...in your joke you had a year making a phone call from the past to the present, don't go giving me lectures on what makes sense. I think we're well past asking the other to accept a level of suspension of disbelief. Quote
Aero Posted April 15, 2007 Posted April 15, 2007 on that note, i'd like to point out that only 1 model of car was ever produced in northern ireland.... the delorean... and it could travel in time apparently! norn ireland (clap clap clap-clap-clap-clap) norn ireland ....etc. Quote
Nemo Posted April 15, 2007 Posted April 15, 2007 Sal...in your joke you had a year making a phone call from the past to the present... they didnt make a call from past to the present. some guy who works for the present day 2001, corp. called and said that you using their joke was a violation of like 10 different copyrights. and aero, the car didnt actually travel through time. it was an illusion caused by intoxication. Quote
Aero Posted April 15, 2007 Posted April 15, 2007 no, you are wrong, watch back to the future, it will clear everything up. Quote
Nemo Posted April 15, 2007 Posted April 15, 2007 back to the future wasnt based on a true story. Quote
