scoot Posted April 9, 2007 Posted April 9, 2007 Venus Doom has been announced as the title of HIM's new album due out july 10, and apparantly its a departure from the regular HIM stuff. going back to the times of there early heavy stuff by the sounds of it, which is a welcome change for me at least. maby, JUST maby, this will see a few others on the board taking a slight liking to the band. Nemo Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 MAYBE we will if it doesnt suck like their other albums. Quote
jitz Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 I choose to ignore this topic, reason being everytime it's mentioned a band is returning to their roots, it's spells complete and utter doom. I can not think of a decent album where a band has "returned to their roots" and hasn't completely alienated their fan base. Infact The Offspring's album Conspiracy of One just won't leave my mind as the prime example of the mockery that is returning to roots. A band will always move forward, departing from their original sound, as the evolve as musicians. When they try to stop it and stem their own creative juices, not only do you end up with something that the band didn't originally sound like, you also end up with the most uninspired music they've ever created. My Ville wouldn't say anything so stupid, he's smarter than that. This is pure HIM fan base hog wash that they love to create whenever they get bored, which seems to be everyday. I call shenanigans on this story. Quote
