If you goto Best Buy they have a Making of 300 DVD for 10 bucks and it has a free movie ticket for 300 that's up to 10 bucks so it's a pretty good deal. Quote

Although I couldn't tell if 300 was for the amount of soldiers or the amount of nipples shown in the movie... Anywho, I definitely recommend this movie. Quote

Big Bizang Posted March 28, 2007 Posted March 28, 2007 Just wanted to drag this one up from the bottom of the page to say I've just seen it at the cinema and I thought it was good. But that's it. I certainly can't remember the last time I had that much fun at the cinema but that's all it was. I wasn't disappointed because I wasn't expecting a masterpiece. It was highly entertaining but a huge case of all style and little substance. Not always a bad thing mind. Quote
Subrick Posted March 31, 2007 Posted March 31, 2007 I saw it on Sunday. It was the best movie I've seen since Borat. It had all the things I like; blood, gore, Middle Easterns getting knocked down a pit, lots of nudity, and a rape scene. Was that a rape scene? I couldn't tell. Quote
jitz Posted April 2, 2007 Posted April 2, 2007 Well it comes out here on Thursday (Australia behind as usual) but I won tickets and saw it tonight (Monday night). I thought it was great, while the story wasn't in-depth, they did tell the story very well. Infact dedicating more screen time to the story would have detracted from it, as it would take away from the mythology of Sparta and the Spartans, as people who don't show emotions but are driven by laws and justice. Everyone talks about the fight scenes, yes they are awesome. And a nice length, it seems when you need to take a break, so do the Spartans. I think too much focus in recent years has been placed on storylines, with predictable plot twists, and sappy love sub plots. It's destroyed the once thriving action genre. Remember some of the greatest movies of all time had the simplest story, Alien, Terminator, Indiana Jones, Jurassic Park, I can keep going, Star Wars (the original had a very simple plot, Empire Strikes Back complicated it), Rambo, Predator, The Wizard of Oz, Evil Dead, Halloween, Lord of the Rings I CAN KEEP GOING. So any criticism aimed at the story is merely a product of today's movie go'ers watching too many M. Night Shyamalan movies, it's their fault, and not 300's. 5/5 Quote
