CS Posted February 25, 2007 Posted February 25, 2007 i just thought i would once again mention that it is an amazing movie and easily the best movie of 2006/2007. everyone on this board should see it. Quote
The Don Posted February 25, 2007 Posted February 25, 2007 It's sitting on my DVD shelf waiting to be watched. First I need to watch The Animatrix, Equilibrium, Man on Fire, Training Day and Gladiator... I kinda went on a spree. Quote
CS Posted February 25, 2007 Author Posted February 25, 2007 techno music> he departed> those movies Quote
Spectre Posted February 25, 2007 Posted February 25, 2007 Yeh The Departed was one of the best movies i have seen. Quote
Jobber Posted February 25, 2007 Posted February 25, 2007 Yeah I definently thought it was an excellent movie...and Mark Wahlberg is a badass...officially. Quote
jitz Posted February 25, 2007 Posted February 25, 2007 Wait I feel we're all missing the issue at hand here - The Animatrix!? Now Matrix sequel hating has been done to death, and for good reason mind you. You take an outstanding movie; then film two sequels back to back along with commissioning some animation shorts, throw in a licensed game or two and you watch the money roll in. Somebody high up forgot entirely what made the original film so good - rip off a Doctor Who storyline, keep it simple, and throw in some bad ass action. Then what do they do!? Go on an even bigger tangent than the one I'm on right now. The Animatrix sucked, and hey I'm one of those people that went to see the piss poor Dreamcatcher movie to see the Final Flight of the Osiris short, that's how keen I was. I said to my mate upon leaving the screening "I think I enjoyed the hour and a half of shit more so than the 15 minutes of shit". Then the sequels came and I was happy I wasn't alone, meanwhile every churchy in town is jumping up and down saying "but what about all the religious iconography. Get fucked. Now amount of underhanded god references will ever make a shit movie a good movie, infact it'll make it worse. The first movie told the story of a guy dropped into a world he was unfamiliar with then eventually learned to gain control of. The second two told the story of a martyr with a straight face and his mission to save...who knows, I think they lost sight of that half way through the second one. One Animatrix short is worth the time, and that is the Studio Ghibli one. Tangent over. Oh and back on topic but not really, I reckon I'm the only person that enjoyed The Beach. Quote
CS Posted February 26, 2007 Author Posted February 26, 2007 I liked The Beach, it was weird but in a good way. Quote
Fozy Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 The departed beats Scarface and the Godfather. My opinion. Quote

I finally got around to seeing The Matrix Trilogy, and I figure I might as well watch The Animatrix as well. Quote
Fozy Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 The animatrix really does no justice to the matrix trilogy, saying that neither does parts 2 and 3. Quote
