The Don Posted January 29, 2007 Posted January 29, 2007 None of them really blow me away. All your sigs kind of look the same. Quote
jitz Posted April 20, 2007 Posted April 20, 2007 Thank you 'Artists Weekly' for the rating, I'm sure he'll enter that into his portfolio. Some constructive criticism; over saturation, loosen up on the colour filtering. The problem with saturating your image with colour is that it looses it's contrast, the great thing about it is it hides shoddy work. The Robert Plant sig is probably the strongest of the group because of the good black and white contrast with hair highlighting the image. Combined with the good image choice, it characterises the singer extremely well. Unfortunately the strange choice of using a haze over the left side of the image detracts. The lesson of less is more, is also a good one. A sig is a small space, there's no need to cram it full of junk. For one it means less work for you, secondly it focuses the viewers attention more on a specific element you want to convey to the viewer (the entire purpose of a sig) whether it be a band, a singer, a wrestler, an idea etc. Infact I've got a great example for you contained in your work so you should understand the less is more concept. Pink Floyd album covers. Take a look, seperately they each convey a message to the person looking at it. Pink Floyd was very deliberate with their music, with their lyrics and even the album covers. When you combine the album covers, the meaning of each individual cover is lost as the attention is split between them, rather than focusing it on the individual elements. Quote
