Big Bizang Posted January 28, 2007 Posted January 28, 2007 Every torrent I add to my uTorrent goes red, becomes unavailable and can't find any peers or the tracker. I've tried multiple torrents from multiple sites and I get the same thing every time. Now I'll admit that the world of torrents totally confuses me but I figure this shouldn't be happening, it was working fine yesterday. Can anyone help? Quote
scoot Posted January 28, 2007 Posted January 28, 2007 first of all, if you are running behind a router, are your ports open? second, do you seed your torrents? keeping a good share ratio should in theory help you along. third, i run utorrent and bitcomet, i prefer bitcomet because i get less hassle from it all, its a much more simple to use program, need any more help ask me over msn or PM me or something. word of warning though, ive found it common that utorrent fucks about with giving the 'red' torrent. Big Bizang Posted January 28, 2007 Author Posted January 28, 2007 Yeah it actually stopped being red and is now very slowly downloading, very slowly. I actually find utorrent easier to use than bittorrent. The router is sorted yeah. Quote
Nemo Posted January 28, 2007 Posted January 28, 2007 utorrent is superb when it comes to simplicity and conserving resources. if the torrents arent downloading, chances are there are few people seeding, or you're having a connection problem. either way, its your fault. stop hating on utorrent. Big Bizang Posted January 30, 2007 Author Posted January 30, 2007 I got up today to find that the torrent I had on that kept me awake all night making my laptop whirr and click like it was dying had not moved a solitary percent. It had lost the seed, it has it now but the download rate is fucking miserable and the whole thing has been sat at 58.4% for hours now. There's nothing I can do about this is there? I'm going to have to just sit tight and hope it gets better right? Quote
jitz Posted January 30, 2007 Posted January 30, 2007 You can either search for a different torrent of the file with more seeds, or you can be patient. Quote
Joe =/ Posted January 30, 2007 Posted January 30, 2007 You left your laptop on whilst you slept. YOUR HOUSE DESERVES TO BURN DOWN ! Quote
Big Bizang Posted January 30, 2007 Author Posted January 30, 2007 Well I'd love to turn it off at night but I don't know whether I could pick it up again after closing uTorrent. Quote
ALL STAR Posted February 1, 2007 Posted February 1, 2007 Have you checked to see what settings you have for your download and upload limits set to? Quote
Big Bizang Posted February 1, 2007 Author Posted February 1, 2007 Yeah I have, that was fine. It's going quite well now. I dicked around with a lot of settings and it seems to be working so meh. It's swings and roundabouts I guess. Quote
