Pencil Shaded Cassidy

This IS the ARTISTIC Showcase right? That shouldn't mean just graphics, if it does then it is misleading. So here is something I did 2 days ago, it's rap artist Cassidy. Keep in mind that I did this without erasing. Constructive crits welcome, ratings welcome, everything welcome except for stupid comments like "man thats teh SUXXORS LOLOLOLOLOLOL" anyway, here it is:

Just to compare.

I'd say it's done rather well, not sure if I could have gussed it was Cassidy right away however. The nose and eyes seem to be the main things. All and all it's quite impressive and I'd like to see more.

without seeing your reference image all I can really suggest is that maybe the eyes are a little too large.

Also in future, try and do away with the pencil outline on the shapes. Nothing in life has a black outline like that. Its a difficult thing to overcome though, as we seem to be taught to do outlines at an early age and spend ages trying to overcome that teaching, but it adds a whole new sense of realism when theyre gone.

anyway, great drawing there, sharx. my only complaint is that chisled lettering. compared to everything else, its fucking awful.

Chillalex - thanks for the tip, I'll try to due away with the outlines in the future, it's just that I start the picture by drawing the basic outline of the face and and the features.

I would post the picture I drew it from but I'm having a hard time finding it again, it's hard to find that many pictures of Cass period and I'm not sure why

A big mistake that I made while drawing it is that the papers were flat down on the table. I should have had the paper straight up like against the wall or something because when I picked it up off the surface it didn't look as good as I thought it did.

I've seen you post this more than once and either your being ignored by the good people at ST( ST... good people) or it's been answered before and no one wants to answer it again. You make sigs in Adobe Photoshop, there are some tutorials at Good Tutorials you can work from until you learn how to use the program.
