The Don Posted January 8, 2008 Posted January 8, 2008 Lesnar/Mir with everything on the line. You sure? Quote
Spectre Posted January 8, 2008 Posted January 8, 2008 (edited) Pssh. You gotta take risks to get by with Life. Yeh im sure Edited January 8, 2008 by TV's Joe Lauzon Quote
Heart Breaker Posted January 8, 2008 Author Posted January 8, 2008 I'm starting to be afraid for people like Don. I believe the UFC are hyping up Lesnar, which by no means is a bad thing. But you have to remember, he's still VERY new to the sport of MMA. He only has one professional fight against a fighter who sucks ass at best. Mir has faced the best the business has to offer and is even a former heavyweight champion. I know Mir's wreck has brought him down a lot, but he's still talented nonetheless. I'm honestly leaning slightly towards Mir based on experience alone. Lesnar is an incredible wrestler, but wrestling alone can't make you the best. This fight will answer a lot of questions about both Mir and Lesnar. If Lesnar defeats Mir, he's worthy of being in the UFC and with more time, he'll be a legit threat to the heavyweight title. If Mir wins, he's beaten a very hyped up Lesnar and easily puts his name back on the UFC map. This fight will be very interesting, to say the very least. Quote
The Don Posted January 8, 2008 Posted January 8, 2008 I really don't care who wins or loses, I just want to bet. It just so happens I'm a whore and bet on whoever is the most hyped. Quote
Heart Breaker Posted January 8, 2008 Author Posted January 8, 2008 *whoever's from Minnesota. Nah, it really isn't a bad bet on either side. It really isn't. There's just a lot of questions this fight will answer though. I'm very interested to see how it all plays out. To know that you two have a bet on this fight makes it even better. Quote
The Don Posted January 8, 2008 Posted January 8, 2008 *whoever's from Minnesota. That too. Too bad he's not a darkie too... Quote
CS Posted January 8, 2008 Posted January 8, 2008 Fuck you H.B., Brock will own. I hope we get to see an F-5. Quote
Heart Breaker Posted January 8, 2008 Author Posted January 8, 2008 If he can pull off an F5 in the octagon, I'd change my sig for a year. ...Okay, just kidding. Cause knowing my luck, he would pull it off in the first minute against Mir. Quote
Nemo Posted January 8, 2008 Posted January 8, 2008 for ufc 82: anderson silva vs. dan henderson sig bet. Quote
Heart Breaker Posted January 8, 2008 Author Posted January 8, 2008 You're on. I think Anderson's strength is the clinch game. Oddly enough, I think Henderson's strength is the clinch as well. I think Anderson will be overwhelmed and we'll have a new UFC middleweight champion. Quote
CS Posted January 8, 2008 Posted January 8, 2008 (edited) You already have one, with me. I guess H.B.'s been slipping lately. EDIT: Nice try though H.B., trying to steal my bet and all. UFC Middleweight Champion Anderson Silva vs. Dan Henderson sometime in March. Sig Bet. deal. Edited January 8, 2008 by CS Quote

The Don Posted January 8, 2008 Posted January 8, 2008 Ladyhawk, I'll take the Darkie, just keep track of the bet. Quote
Niles Jansen The Third Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 Alright not bet related, but still discussion worthy I think; Why are my friends telling me Couture may be stripped of the title? I haven't watched much UFC in the last couple of months, and have no idea what happened. Anyone want to fill me in, preferably in point form? Quote
Nemo Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 one day, he decided that he wasnt going to fight anyone who isnt fedor emelianenko. also, he fears brock lesnar. Quote
CS Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 The funny thing about it is that the UFC has Couture trapped, in his conract it says as long as couture is the champ he can't fight for another organization and if he decides he'll just retire and then come back 6 months later for another organization that won't work either because if he retires he can't fight for any other organizations. Quote
Heart Breaker Posted January 16, 2008 Author Posted January 16, 2008 Couture resigns from UFC due to money issues and not being able to fight Fedor. Fedor is a russian fighter who is known as the best heavyweight MMA fighter in the world. Yet Fedor doesn't fight for the UFC. Couture wanted out of the UFC to take on Fedor. Problem is, Couture's the champion. He signed a contract to fight four times in two years. He's only fought two times in one year. Couture seems to think he can get out of the contract. Problem is, Zuffa, the company that operates UFC, has just sued him for breach of contract. Couture is not getting any younger. He's already 44 years old. This lawsuit will keep him busy for awhile. And when you're 44, you don't have awhile to waste. The End. Quote
CS Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 Thanks for repeating what I just said. Here's a spoon, eat my ass. Quote
Heart Breaker Posted January 20, 2008 Author Posted January 20, 2008 Looks like our very own Lauzon is fighting Florian on an upcoming Fight Night on Spike. I have to say, this is an amazing free card. Definitely worth checking out, imo. I'm sorry Joe, but I gotta pick Kenny to win the main event. I think Lauzon is incredible, but Kenny has more tools to beat a top level opponent than Lauzon does. Quote
Spectre Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 Florian Vs. Lauzon Everything on the Line. Quote
The Don Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 Hamill/Bonnar - Whatever you want. Sal beat me to the punch Quote
Nemo Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 Florian Vs. Lauzon Everything on the Line. i'll take ben stiller in that fight. you're on. Quote
The Don Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 So no one wants to bet on Mir? EDIT: UFC 82: Heath Herring vs. Cheick Kongo - Name bet. Quote
