Thom Posted November 27, 2006 Posted November 27, 2006 Right well it's less than a month away, so I figured it wasn't too early to make a thread for all Christmas-relating matters. Let's split this up into four sub-topics right from the off; Is everyone in the spirit yet? I have to admit, I'm not particularly, but the official start to Christmas hasn't happened yet (The Victorian Christmas Fayre that they have in Worcester every December). That said though, I'm pretty excited about it, for reasons I'll go into in... What does everybody have planned for the day? I'm going out with all of my friends on Christmas Eve to get fantastically drunk, then coming home with one housemate (The other one's spending the night at his parents who live in a nearby village) sleep, then wake up in the morning, going to my parents for the usual stuff, exchanging gifts, seeing my extended family etc, then at lunchtime, the housemate who's not going to his parents house is coming to my parents house for lunch. After that we'll head back home, drunk off my parents alcohol, and wait for the trickle of friends to come round, as I've invited everybody we know around for the evening/night, as there's pretty much nothing else to do. So we'll watch my friend who's on Deal or No Deal while getting fantastically drunk, and have a jolly old time. Thirdly, what gifts are you getting people? I've bought Lydia a pink Nintendo DS with Brain Training and Super Princess Peach, and a black cocktail dress, but we're going to a Casino between Christmas and New Years Eve, so I'm gonna accessorize the dress with some shoes, a bag, some jewellery, and some of those long white gloves, so we can roll up there in true sophistication. Plus she's a real girly girl, so she'll love that shit. Might get her the Sex and the City DVD boxset as well, but I dunno about buying DVDs for girls, it seems weird. There's some other stuff as well, but I can't remember off the top of my head. I'm obviously getting other people presents, but none of them are particularly interesting. Except my Dad's...I'm getting him a pair of flippers cause my parents are going on holiday in January and he likes scuba diving. No idea where I'll get flippers from though. Annnnd finally, what are you hoping to get? This year I've found it a real struggle to think of stuff that I want or need. I decided I want a BMX or Lowrider bike, just for kicks, but I dunno if I actually want one, or I just can't think of anything else. The Wii would be perfect, but I don't wanna have to wait until December 25th before I can play it. The only other thing I actually need to the extent where I'm considering spending my money on it is getting my PC sorted out, but all I need to be able to do that is an external HDD, and another soundcard so I can have 2 and use it for VirtualDJ. That was longer than I expected. When I put my mind to it, I'm pretty awesome at avoiding my Uni Assignments... Quote
Big Bizang Posted November 27, 2006 Posted November 27, 2006 Serious lack of funds this Christmas (after rent goes out on the 1st anyway) means it won't be as plush as I want it to but never mind. Me and missus agreed on buying each other clothes for Christmas which and everytime I think something would look good on her she hates it, wouldn't you just know it, so that'll be fun. No idea what I'll end up getting. It'll be good to be at home again over the Christmas period, this year will be the first Christmas without grandpa so it'll be good to have the whole family round and all that. Then in January it is both mine and Amy's birthdays (her's is the 15th and mine's the 16th which is cool) so we will have another big weekend celebration like normal so that equates to a Christmas break that is about a month long. essjay Posted November 27, 2006 Posted November 27, 2006 like big iizang my rent comes out on the 1st...so lack of wonga... however i get payed weekly so it dont hit me as hard.. will be going to my dads for xmas this year,prob go for a beer or 2 on xmas day with dad and sis...n then jus do the usual xmas things...like eat loads and watch crap on t.v... xmas is still cool....even though im 22 ;-) Quote
