Thom Posted November 20, 2006 Posted November 20, 2006 Axle Grinder, and Distress Signal. Anybody heard them? They're available from a private torrent site, but my friend sent them to me, and I can hook you up on MSN if anybody else is interested. I've only given them a couple of listens, but I can't really get into them. They seem too formulaic, as if they're trying to recreate the success of Slam by making exactly the same record but with a different spoken-word introduction, and slightly different breaks. The actual Drum and Bass parts aren't as good as anything from Hold Your Colour either, they sound more like their older stuff, like Blood Sugar or Toxic Shock. I'll give them a few more listens in the right...environment, before I make my final judgement though, but so far, they haven't got me too excited about the new album. Quote
