Jonny Posted November 16, 2006 Posted November 16, 2006 Just curious. I'm going to see Dragonforce tommarow and hopefully Killswitch Engage in January. Quote
Thom Posted November 16, 2006 Posted November 16, 2006 Dizzee Rascal in December, plus the ones I mentioned in my earlier thread. Quote
Fozy Posted November 16, 2006 Posted November 16, 2006 Eh. Just been to muse, tenacious D is next. Quote
essjay Posted November 16, 2006 Posted November 16, 2006 i plan on going to tenacious d next....went to see we are scientists bout 2 weeks ago..the fuckin ruled Quote
jitz Posted November 16, 2006 Posted November 16, 2006 I saw AFI two nights ago. On the 29th I see From Autumn To Ashes for the second time. Quote
jitz Posted November 16, 2006 Posted November 16, 2006 Was Davey wearing yellow glitter eye shadow at your concert? Cause he was at mine! We also had a impromptu Q & A session for 5 minutes or so while we were politely asked to all take 3 steps back, then another 3, then 20. Quote
samountain Posted November 16, 2006 Posted November 16, 2006 December, I have Rise Against, Russell Peters (if he counts...), Frenzal Rhomb, The Lawrence Arms. Next year I have Thrice and Deftones (confirmed), Mars Volta (Confirmed, glad it got delayed, couldn't go this year because of Russell Peters), NOFX (semi-confirmed), Strike Anywhere (semi-confirmed), Propagandhi (rumourish - someone asked them in Canada and they said around winter), Rx Bandits (hopeful thinking, I emailed their manager and she said she's trying to work out a way to get them down but it's expensive, but they really want to come down. Also, they're working on an album next year so I don't know if it's going to happen). So it should be good. Best show this year, so far? Against Me! Singing with the bassist and everybody getting on stage and surrounding the band was pretty intense, which is why I love smaller bands. So Chris, no good? Too big of an ego for their own good? Speaking of big egos, Jackass 2 is hilarious, and Bam does a shitload of good stunts. He hasn't sold out. He's about 5 times better in the second one compared to the first. Quote
Big Bizang Posted November 16, 2006 Posted November 16, 2006 I hate that Bam prick. The Jarvis gig last night was fucking incredible. He's lost nothing. It was only the third gig he's done as a solo outfit and he was fire. The album's only been out since Monday but a few of the diehards (such as myself) still sung along. He was very funny and engaged the audience a lot which is just what you want from a gig. He even ended with a cover of Bowie's 'Space Oddity'. In conclusion, best gig ever. I might go see Richard Hawley at the end of the month too. Quote
jitz Posted November 16, 2006 Posted November 16, 2006 So Chris, no good? Too big of an ego for their own good? It was great! Lost my phone (Nokia N80, not cheap) during the first half, twisted my ankle of a piece of wooden floor board that was sticking up right in the middle of the mosh pit, I heard the pop of my ankle over the music. Found my phone after the concert when a man actually answered it when my mate called it, the screen is partly broken but still usuable. Davey was just a really nice bloke, very apologetic about the hold up, understandably he didn't want anyone to die. He answered the "why don't you drink?" question for the millionth time in his life like it was the first time he'd been asked. He was just A grade class, even taking the spare minutes to give some kudos to the the crew. He was wearing yellow glitter eye shadow, but he was class. I feel the set list leant more towards Sing the Sorrow though, which was weird because they have already toured that album here. But it seemed to share the set list evenly with decemberunderground. So I didn't see a few decemberunderground songs i wanted to see, but hey they played the bonus track of Sing the Sorrow so I was grinning from ear to ear. Quote
scoot Posted November 16, 2006 Posted November 16, 2006 sometime this month (not far away actually i dont think so anyway) ill be seeing soil at corp, and on the 28th ill be seeing houdini six Quote
Tychoma Posted November 16, 2006 Posted November 16, 2006 I'm hoping to see NOFX again soon, Hill. Not sure when they're next over here. I saw Two Gallants a week or so ago, that was incredible. Really small, intimate gig. Going to see Jesse James in a couple of weeks. Quote
Can't Be Arsed Posted November 16, 2006 Posted November 16, 2006 At Corp? Sales must be well down if they're playing at that shithole Quote
Jobber Posted November 16, 2006 Posted November 16, 2006 I want to go see Tenacious D in a few weeks and then Incubus in February. Quote
scoot Posted November 16, 2006 Posted November 16, 2006 At Corp? Sales must be well down if they're playing at that shithole they have ONE decent song to the bands name. and yes, sales MUST be down playing at corp.........not a good day, but meh, im willing to go to corp to see them. besides the fact occasionally you get a decent band playing at corp, not too often you understand once or twice a year. Quote
Can't Be Arsed Posted November 17, 2006 Posted November 17, 2006 Yea I remember their one hit wonder, can't say I heard of them before that or since. Halo wasn't it? Not a bad song. Quote
crunk Posted November 17, 2006 Posted November 17, 2006 I scored some expensive tickets to Red Hot Chilli Peppers tour and some My Chemical Romance tickets, neither's happening until next year though. Quote
samountain Posted November 17, 2006 Posted November 17, 2006 sometime this month (not far away actually i dont think so anyway) ill be seeing soil at corp, and on the 28th ill be seeing houdini six ← From their site (where I found out they plan to tour Aus next year): Our Plans for 07 Nearly Dozens of you have written to ask us our plans, when are we coming to your town!?!?!?!?!?!?!? etc. Here are our basic plans for 2007 In January we will play a bunch of shows in California keep on the look out for dates soon. Then in Mid February we will finally make the leap back down under, New Zealand, Australia including Tasmania at long last. Sorry it has taken so long. In Apri lwe go to Japan and we hope to go to China, Taiwan, Thailand and Malaysian maybe some other places in Asia. We are open to ideas, if you have any, write the BoreJournal and make the subject "Asia or Bust". After this we will take a few months off. Why? Its a secret, try to guess. in the late Summer we will be in Europe for sure. Then in the Fall we will go to Central America and the Caribbean, as well as try to make up for the shows that failed in South America this fall. How were they last time you saw them? I've heard they have a LOT of shitty fans, but I can't wait. Jitz, sounds awesome. Did they play any stuff before Sing the Sorrow? Also, do they play all the synths and stuff? I remember there being a lot of synth work in the new album, but I haven't listened to it in a while. Why do you hate Bam, Bizang? If you hate Jackass then yeah, it's understandable. He does a LOT of good stunts in the new movie though. I laughed so very hard at the dildo bit near the start. Quote
Big Bizang Posted November 17, 2006 Posted November 17, 2006 I don't know why I don't like the guy just something about him grates on me. I've never been a huge fan of Jackass but I do remember laughing my arse off at some of the earlier shows. Quote
