Yuke's and THQ have really tried hard on this game, and it shows, both in the graphical and gameplay sides. The wrestlers themselves are made created using 20,000+ polygons, that's several times more than it's predecessor. From the sweat pouring of their bodies, veins buldging out of their muscles to their facial expressions throughout the whole match - it's beautiful to look at. The fans look inredible too, all of them in 3D, and are fully aware of what's going on - none of this repeated animations anymore! The fans will cheer for the Face(s) and Boo the Heel(s), chant their names when they're enterance music hits, or shout 'You Suck' when Angle is making his way towards the squared circle. They will try to get as close to the action as they can, and also be a part of the action; while fighting in the crowd. That's right, you can fight in the crowd, you can throw your opponent over the barricade and make your way up around the arena! If you're close to the fans, they will give you weapons such as Crutches, Glass Bottles, etc. There is so much things to interact with, like the PA system, and you can even climb the scaffolding and throw yourself off, just like Jeff Hardy used to do. ----------------------------- Improved Match Types Ladder Match Each year THQ makes improvements of previous matches. This year is no acception. We've seen previous adjustments done to the ladder match, but this year is a whole new vision by THQ. Now we are able to do some more unique things with the ladder than what we've grown accustomed to. SmackDown! vs. RAW 2007 now gives you the option to lean one ladder against another. If you've ever seen the WrestleMania 21 Money in the Bank match you'll know exactly what I'm talking about. Shelton Benjamin did a fantastic flying clothesline during the match. Now you are able to do the same by leaning one ladder against another. Also, we've grown familiar with setting up the ladder in the corner vertically. Now we can set up the ladders in the turnbuckle vertically and horizontally. A very nice touch to bring added excitement into this featured match type. As well as setting up the ladder differently, it will also take a bit more work to pull of the victory. If you didn't like the way the ladder system worked in terms of grabbing the title and ending the match, this new feature is for you. The left and right analog stick is going to be helpful to you for reaching the championship belt. If you flick the right analog stick up, your superstar's arm goes up and reaches for the title. So obviously, if you flick the left analog stick up, the left arm goes up. If you choose to use both analog sticks [Yep. You guessed it.] both arms go up. Once you grab the championship belt, you have to locate the "sweet spot". For example. If you grab the championship with your right hand, you must rotate the right analog stick into a full 360 motion. The closer you get to the spot, the controller will begin to rumble. The more the controller rumbles, a "ladder gauge" appears up on the screen. You will see it suddenly move and disappear. If your superstar can hold onto the belt until the meter disappears, you will have successfully grabbed the belt and won the match. If you used two hands for this feature, you will have a greater chance of falling off the ladder before finding the sweet spot. [You will not have one hand to hold onto the ladder while grabbing the championship.] But there is also an advantage to using both hands. You will be able to get rid of the meter faster. So this definitely keeps up with THQ's loved theme of "Risk and Reward." Table Match Remember the dull match up known as the table match? Yes? Well I can no longer say it will be dull. This match will be totally reborn in a very simple manner. You now have two objectives when you are in this match. 1. Earn a finisher and store it. 2. Rebuild full momentum. After you've done these two objectives, throw your opponent into the turnbuckle where the table is set or a table that has been set up in the middle of the ring. Once you've done that, all you have to do is your finisher. Most superstars will have their very own table finisher. So it will definitely make this match a little more rewarding to play. In addition to the improvements to the table match, you will also be able to stack two tables on top of each other. All you have to do is place one table in a standing positition. Take another table and simply press the action button. [A for XBOX 360 owners. X for Playstation 2(3) owners.] You will then set up two tables on top of each other. Once you have the superstar. The player on offense can simply press the finisher button and execute a suplex right through both tables. ----------------------------- New Match Type Money In The Bank After two consecutive appearances at WrestleMania, this match finally makes it's appearance on SmackDown! vs. RAW 2007. Yes, we're talking about the Money in the Bank ladder match. If you've ever seen the match, you'll know exactly how it goes. The object is simple. Six WWE superstars compete in a ladder match. A briefcase is suspended high above the ring. The object of the match is to obtain the briefcase, thus earning you a title shot at your particular brand. You must climb the tallest ladder in order to obtain the briefcase that is suspended very high above the ring. Sounds like a very challenging, yet rewarding match. ...More to come soon. ----------------------------- Images August 25, 2006 August 16, 2006 August 1, 2006 July 21, 2006 June 16, 2006 May 10, 2006 Edited September 28, 2006 by Heart Breaker Quote
