plan is to make a video like before because when I end up typing it out I end up having to type it out like 50 times to different people for small differences.

any update on a possible video?

hey pozzum, any updates on a video? it has been silent for a long time, it can't be that hard to explain how to get to the address, right? especially when you've helped people unlock NPCs already as that YouTube video shows.

To be honest I believe mods for 2k20 is dead. I have not seen anybody n for a long bit even talking about working on getting it up and going.

I believe @pozzum is away at the moment so he is not currently activ on the forum.

Regarding  NPC's , are you able to install pofo' s using cheatengine.A byte in the pofo for the NPC characters needs to be modified  and the pofo reinjected.

Regarding modding 2k20, there are modders working on it. If there was progress , it will have been documented on the forum. The main mountain to climb is being able to modify a file and reinjct it back into the game .

In my opinion, even if we can eventually modify a file and reinject it back, modding 2k20 will never be like like modding 19 or previous games especially regarding importing assets from previous games. The ease with which we could use mods, character models, animation files, arenas, props etc from previous games in 2k19 isn't possible in 2k20 .

Guys, it's a little trickier than before but it's not that hard.

First you need to find where the pofo is in memory (not static anymore)

Open cheatengine as administrator

search for "array of bytes"

open the "super pofo" given in a hex editor and copy the beginning
I guess I'll "spoil" you all by doing it for you

If it yields more than one result use the first one (lesser value)

The address found above is the pofo's base. (disregard the 02CCA090 value) It is the address where caw0's pofo starts, caw1's pofo starts 3BC after that, etc.

Simply add the address you found above to whatever you want to change within the pofo.

followed this, found 3 results. added a manager unlock value to it, set it up. it did nothing to change on any of the values, despite it being 100% the manager I was working on. not sure what I'm doing wrong.

OK lets go through a few things here. I expect you have the memory sheet and the super pofo 2k20 file @pozzum posted.

Samir Singh's character id is 760 (Hex value 02F8) Slot Hex 016E (6E 01)

Open the super pofo file in Hxd and search for F8 02.

Here is a screenshot of the section with that data. You will be looking for the array of bytes F8 02 6E 01.

CCUFrnN.png

You will need to copy the array of bytes I have highlighted here

lq8h2TN.png

This is the same array. The 3 highlighted is the bytes which sets the character as manager only. This needs to be changed to 1 to set it as Fully Playable.

CyjJB8s.png

Launch the game , open cheatengine (64 bit) and perform a memory search

Change the type from TEXT to ARRAY OF BYTES and paste the array of bytes you copied from the pofo.

This is what you will obtain

teWVxV1.png

The 1 which is highlighted will normally be 3 . Click on the digit and change it's value to 1. save ingame and the character will be selectable in the menu.

awesome, I was doing it right but I ended up unlocking them for Universe before anything else. any clue on what value I need to change to unlock Gifted Otis for example? since he along with others aren't unlocked at all.

Searching the memory sheet for "otis" using the edit>find function shows that his unlock address is pofo+761B8.

Add this number, in hexadecimal, to the pofo start address, and edit the value at that address.

Edited by me man
to note that 761B8 is not an absolute address, but added to the pofo start.

I just want to change the genders, any idea how to do that? i've seen the memory sheets but it looks like the method from pervious games no longer works on this game. any help would be greatly appreciated.

The gender byte  is the 5th byte from the left on the third row. 00 for male 01 for female.

You have to find the address where the pofos start as described above, then add the value from the memory sheet to the pofo start address.

open the calculator, switch to programmer, switch to hex, switch to q-word. The calculator will then be capable of adding the large values in hexadecimal.

For example, if I wanted to make Lita listed as male so she could compete with other males, you would note her gender bit, listed on the memory sheet as 1B130. You have to find the pofo start address as above, which changes everytime you restart the game. So lets say you find the pofo start address to be 7F9384B25C9. You add the two in hexadecimal so 7F9384B25C9 + 1B130 = 7F9384CD6F9. The value at address byte 7F9384CD6F9 should be 01 (female), you'd change it to 00 and she'll be listed as male.

I know how to get to the unlock ID since I figured all that out thanks to the assistance here, but like I'm speaking of Gifted Otis, which is shown as playable and unlocked on the DLC menu in memory, but does not actually show up to play as.

also, how would I access whatever moveset in memory? I want to add certain moves to other slots and also back up my movesets into a super moveset file, already did my pofo file like that.

Can't say for sure why the unlock didn't work. I haven't done it myself but it should work. Did you run cheatengine as administrator? I believe that is necessary for windows 10. Also make sure type is set to byte. And make sure everything is in hex.

You can save and load movesets through cheatengine. Hit the "memory view" button, then on that window, file > save momory region. Then fill in "from" the address the moveset starts at, "to" one less than the next moveset starts at, click add, click save. Then load the files to the same address (or to a different address to copy it to another superstar) as needed.

I don't think that method can unlock a DLC character anymore.

just got a chance to try this out,  i opened the super pofo and found what you mentioned, third row ,fifth byte from left, but i'm still confused on how to find the hex start value, with cheat engine while the game is running. i feel like i'm almost there though :)

Followed this and it didn't work, when I clicked on digits to edit them and change the value, the number flashed red. Then once it somehow worked, and I managed to change gender of Chyna, and now when CheatEngine attaches to the game it shows question marks instead of values in Memory Viewer. I reinstalled it and reset settings to no avail.

It seems the game has some protection? Anyway, can you tell s when and where exactly are we supposed to launch Cheat Engine and edit values for the game to accept it. In the main menu? Before it loads or after? At character selection? What menu are you in when you do it so that it works?

Hi,

When you launch cheat engine. Do a search for the block of bytes you want to edit. You will notice the Protect will change to read/write  when the bytes are located.

Search in Memory Viewer or main Cheat Engine window? I figured out what was the problem, when searching for pofo start, it usually shows 3 results, the first one in gray and starting with a number, while second and third results are green and start with FF like in your screenshot. It only worked for me when I changed the second set. Not the first result. Other people might have problems if they change the first time numbers appear in search, instead of the second or third results.

I just changed gender for a bunch of wrestlers, and made the Singhs, Renee Young, Byron Saxton and other NPCs playable. A High School Girl just body slammed Andre the Giant. Worth it. This pain in the butt of figuring this all out. Thanks for the help.

i'm happy to hear you figured this out. Would you kindly please tell me step by step how to change the gender? I do not know how to search for the pofo start.  Been trying for a while ,but i still can't figure it out, thank you very much.
