Data Editor
Version 2019.0.0.9 Alpha
Modding Tool for WWE 2k19 on the PC
[Developed & tested with the official Steam Version with latest Patch]
by Caveman

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
DESCRIPTION
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This modding tool has been created to allow modders and users to easily edit and create Wrestler Information and Moveset files for their modded wrestlers, created superstars as well as tag teams and save them as .pofo, .moveset files and .team_info files, respectively. These files can be installed directly via TheVisitorX' Custom Character Tools (recommended), or be manually imported into the game via tools like Cheat Engine or Xpacker.
The Data Editor may also allow to set several options and option combinations for .pofo, .moveset and .team_info files that are normally hidden and/or inaccessible in the game.
In addition, the tool implements a GUI based on the Universal Alternate Attire Unlock helper mod that allows users to unlock alternate Attires for up to 100 wrestlers and easily change which wrestlers have attires unlocked and how many each and which name strings is assigned to which wrestlers' attires.

Designed to work in tandem with Custom Character Tools 2019 by TheVisitorX to make modding easier and more accessible to everyone!

This is a Alpha version. Some functions may not be properly implemented yet and there are likely various bugs. Please report them if you find them!

INSTALLATION
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Installation steps:

1. Extract all files and directories from the archive to a directory of your choosing (be sure that you have full Read/Write privileges for the folder and keep the file and folder structure in the archive intact).
2. Run the included .exe file by double-clicking on it (depending on your Operating System's User Account privileges it might require you to run it as Administrator/with elevated privileges which is most recommended regardless for all features to work). Alternatively, you can also create a shortcut for it and place it on your Desktop or in your start menu.
3. Once the tool starts for the first time, you'll be prompted to point the tool to your WWE2k19_x64.exe file. Navigate to the folder WWE 2k19 is installed in on your computer and select the WWE2k19_x64.exe file. This is required for all the features of the Data Editor to work properly.
4. When you click buttons to launch external tools for the first time, you'll be asked to point them to their respective executable files. If you do not have the respective external tools installed, download and install them first (you can always click the "Reset External Tool Directories" button to reset the paths of all the external tools so you can set them again or manually modify them individually by opening the respective \data\Settings\External\ExternalToolDirectory*.data files with a text editor).

NOTES
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is an Alpha build meant for testing and preview purposes. Please use it at your own risk, test it and help me to improve the program by reporting any bugs or issues you may encounter in the thread link below.
In addition, some of the data used may not be accurate. Please contact me if you wish to provide an accurate, up-to-date list for the various dropdown boxes.
Thank you very much!

You can find the latest version of the Tool, give feedback, report bugs and discuss it at the following URL:
http://smacktalks.org/wiki/index.php/Data_Editor_for_WWE_2k19

The tool is written in Java, and comes bundled with Java 8u152 (aka 1.8.0_152) for Windows x64 bit. In case it isn't working for you out of the box, you might install a newer version of the Java Runtime Enviroment x64 bit to run (it won't run with versions earlier than 1.8.0 or 32 bit versions for compatibility reasons). Java SE 8 or later is required. Earlier versions won't work.
If you wish to use the main version of Java that's installed on your system, you will also have to rename or delete the \Resources\Java\jre* folder(s) in your Data Editor directory, which contains the bundled JRE.
You can download a compatible version at the following URL (jre-8u152-windows-x64.exe):
http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/jre8-downloads-2133155.html
During the installation, be careful to opt out of installing any additional programs you may not want to use!

You have to run the Data Editor with elevated privileges ("Run as Administrator") for all of it's features to work properly.
This is due to it requiring access to various files and functions that require elevated privileges.

The tool is intended to be used to edit and create Wrestler Information, Moveset and Team Info files for the official Steam version of WWE 2k19 listed at the top of this readme file. The tool has been developed and tested for that very version. Any other versions, especially cracked ones, are not supported.

You can find information about how to use the .pofo, .moveset and .team_info files created with this tool with the game in the following tutorials (some may be outdated):

You can find @TheVisitorX' Custom Character Tools 2019 that allows you to install .pofo, .moveset, .team_info files as well as wrestlers, trons and more at the following URL:
http://www.smacktalks.org/wiki/index.php/Custom_Character_Tools

You may find all the up-to-date Wrestler IDs, memory addresses required to add the created .pofo and .moveset files to the game as well as other information in Pozzum's WWE 2k19 Memory Tablem, which is accessible in Data Editor by clicking various "Memory Table" buttons.

You may find valid hex codes for all the "Name String Hex Codes" fields in Pozzum's WWE 2k19 String Table, which is accessible in Data Editor via various String Table Buttons.

To use external tools like Sound Editor, Custom Character Tools, etc. with the Data Editor you'll have to install them separately, then click the corresponding button in the Data Editor and point it to the respective tool's executable.
You can find links to download pages for many useful External tools that you can integrate with Data Editor in the Data Editor 2k19's "Tools, Help, Tutorials, Info, Downloads & Settings" tab.

- The tool is designed for monitors with a vertical resolution of 1080 pixels. The resolution of 1920x1080 pixels is recommended.
If your monitor has a lower native resolution than the recommended one, the Data Editor may not display all GUI elements properly. If you have a display with a lower than recommended resolution, you can use the scrollbars in each main tab, edit the data\Settings\SettingsMainWindowSizeAndPosition.data file manually (experimental, unsupported) or you can try using DSR (Nvidia video cards), VSR (AMD video cards) or a Downsampling tool of choice to activate and use a downsampled vertical resolution of 1080 pixels. Inform yourself how you can utilize those.
- If you set a scroll factor other than 2 in the SettingsMainWindowSizeAndPosition.data file, some GUI elements may not be arranged properly anymore.
- Windows (and possibly other OS) DPI and font scaling isn't supported due to Java Limitations and could lead to GUI elements being cut off, layed over each other or being shoved outside of the visible GUI window. Workaround: Set DPI Scaling and "Display Settings->Change size of text, apps and other items" to 100% (or 96DPI or "Smaller" depending on OS version) in Windows. If text is too small for you with this, you can set Data Editor.exe's Compatibility Option setting "Override high DPI scaling behavior." to "System" in the latest version of Windows 10 or change your resolution to 1920x1080 and scaling disabled while working with the Data Editor. The latter works best if scaling is set to a multiple of 100% (200%, for example).
- The tool requires you to pick the game's .exe file in the directory WWE 2k19 is installed in order to work properly.
- The Data Editor doesn't warn you about settings that are incompatible with each other, such as assigning the same Ability (of different or same level) to different slots or assigning Skills that are mutually exclusive. It also allows Hit Point percentages to be set below or above the threshold selectable in-game.
- Scrollbars are always enabled in all main tabs for accessibility.
- Due to certain limitations, there are currently no scroll bars available in popup windows.
- The Alternate Attire Unlocker only works properly with the misc file from the Universal Alternate Attire Unlock 2k19 (included with Data Editor) or misc files based on it (the tool includes an installer if needed) or compatible versions. Trying it with other versions could mess up the files and your game.
- Windows 10 64 bit Version 1709 is the only supported operating System, but it should likely also work with earlier versions of Windows 10, Windows 7, 8 and 8.1. The tool might not work correctly under Linux, Unix and other operating systems, however, due to having to be wrapped into a Windows executable (.exe) in order for it to be able to write in certain folders and launch and communicate with other tools like CCT and WWE 2k19+.
- The Tag Team Editor doesn't check if you have duplicate Tag Team Members or if your Teams have Members 1 and 2. Ensure to set them manually to prevent possible crashes.
- The .match Editor allows you to set combinations for matches otherwise not possible in the game. Many of them will work, however some combinations may lead to glitches or even crashes. Be cautious when testing these and always backup your save game beforehand!
- Loading/editing a match edited with Data Editor's .match Editor in the game's creation suite will cause the game's restrictions to be applied. To prevent this, only edit matches you have applied game-unsupported combinations of conditions/rules/enviroments in the Data Editor and play them in the game to avoid them being reset.

State of Data Editor for WWE 2k19

Data Editor for WWE 2k19 is currently being developed. I have released an early Alpha version as a preview release so everyone can test the tool at their own risk. Please report any bugs you may find in this very thread.
This post will be updated to reflect the current state of Data Editor for WWE 2k19.

Functional features in the current version:

  • .pofo Editor (full functionality)
  • .moveset Editor (~full functionality)
  • .team_info Editor (full functionality)
  • .match Editor (full functionality)
  • Attire Unlocker (full functionality)
  • Tools, Help, Tutorials, Info, Downloads & Settings (full functionality)
  • Updater (experimental functionality)
  • Data Lists (partially implemented)
  • Templates folders with unmodified .pofo, .moveset, .team_info and .attire_names files from the game to easily restore your wrestler to default, as well as default and empty templates.

Not functional in the current version:

  • Everything is functional.

Development Status

The following features are currently in active development:

  • None.

I require help with the following:

  • DataLists:
The following DataLists still require an update. If you would like to help with those, please grab them from the current version of Data Editor (in the \Data Editor 2k19\Data\DataLists\ folder), update them using a text editor like notepad and send them to me!):
    - FromIDs\* - all the .data files inside the FromIDs sub-folder still need to be checked and if needed updated for WWE 2k19 compliance.
    - AdvancedEntranceLightingID.data
    - AdvancedEntrancePyroID.data
    - AdvancedEntranceScreenEffectID.data
    - CrowdSignID.data
    - MovesIDByteCarFinisher.data (if an update is even required)
    - MovesIDByteRopeClimbFront.data (if an update is even required)
    - MovesIDByteRopeClimbRear.data (if an update is even required)
    - TagTeamAnnounceNameID.data

Known Bugs and Issues

Known Bugs and Issues in the current version of Data Editor:

  • Many of the Data Lists (in the Data Editor 2k19\Data\DataLists\ folder) haven't been updated for WWE 2k19 yet and are still based on WWE 2k18. Thus the data that appears in various GUI elements will be 2k18 data. Please help by updating these lists and send them to me if you can.

  • Some moves added in WWE 2k19 may not be editable via Data Editor's Moves Editor yet. Please let me know if you find any that are missing GUI elements!

Bugs and Issues that are a problem with the game or other software in relation to Data Editor and are commonly mistaken by being Data Editor bugs and issues (Please report those to the appropriate developers of the software the bug is related to):

  • Setting any height below 4'11" or above 7'5" (the "safe range" dictated by the game for models) will default to a 6'0"-ish height during gameplay instead. Note that they may display the right size in Creation Studio, however. The solution is to not exceed the game's "safe range".

  • Data Editor Fonts and other GUI Elements misaligned/missing/wrong size (Microsoft Windows (Font) Scaling Bug): When using Windows (font) scaling, Data Editor's GUI Elements can appear out of place, misaligned, overlapping, or even "missing" depending on the type and amount of scaling used. This is due to a bug in Windows which causes Windows to go against it's own spec and thus ignore what the application tells the operating system about it's (Font) Scaling capabilities (same goes for most if not all Java programs as well as many non-Java programs, including some Windows Store ones, which is just ironic).
Click here to read about some Workarounds if you are affected by this bug.

  • Hometown/Announce Data gone/reset (WWE 2k19 Game Issue): WWE 2k19 resets the Hometown/Announce Data of every .pofo to the default values for each slot on every game start (or rather, every time after a save is loaded).
Workaround: Use CCT 2019 v1.2.0.0 or later to inject your .pofo. CCT will then inject the .pofo's hometown data into the right place in PerfectPlextra's profile_dat.pac (PerfectPlextra must be installed beforehand via CCT's Install Mods->PerfectPlextra menu entry for this workaround to work). This will make the hometown permanent (as long as you don't uninstall PerfectPlextra).

new version of the Data Editor for WWE 2k19 is now available for download in the top post as well as via the "Check for Data Editor Updates" button in the Data Editor for WWE 2k18 Settings section or the included Update.exe file.

Update Notes:

Quote

2018.10.12: Version 2019.0.0.0.1 Alpha
+ Initial Limited Alpha release. Only the Help tab and the Attire Unlocker are functional so far. You will have to have the Super String installed to use the default attire names.

I've decided to make the early Alpha version available to the community this year, for preview and testing purposes. I figured making features such as the Attire Unlocker available as they are implemented might be better for the community than having to wait for the whole tool to be near feature-complete. Hopefully this will garner more useful feedback than the closed testing did last year. New versions will be made available once new fixes or features are implemented. Please also help out over in the WWE 2k19 Data Breakdown and Analysis thread to speed up the process. This is an early alpha version, features and how things work may change drastically until beta still. Test and use it at your own risk.

If you read carefully in an earlier post you will notice that Cave mentions that is the only section of the DE working thus far. We will have to wait for the pofo/moveset sections.

The download link doesn't work

Thank you for the heads-up. The link in the main post has been updated and should work again.

On a side note, I've finished the backend implementation of the .pofo Editor. I'm planning to implement the 2k19 changes into the GUI next. If nothing unforeseen happens I may be able to release the first alpha version with a functional .pofo editor to public testing this or next week.

Now it should be easy for everyone to create their own .pofo files. for WWE 2k19! :)

Please post feedback here, be it reports of how the tool is working for you, whether you have any problems, there are mistakes or everything is working smoothly.

can't update data editor,  link doesn't work

thanks

Works fine here. There must be something blocking it on your or your ISP's side.

Note to all: If the download isn't working for you, it is very likely the problem is on your computer's end (adblockers, "security" software like firewall, antivirus, configuration errors, browser that can't handle things, cache not working properly, etc.) or on your ISP's end (with certain ISP that censor things, you may be able to circumvent it by using a public DNS Server instead of your ISP's). Any future posts of download links not working when I find them to be working will be removed without a comment to keep the thread on track.

2018.10.19: Version 2019.0.0.2.0 Alpha
+ Implemented and enabled partial .moveset Editor functionality. Entrance, Victory, Attire, Alliances work, the Moves Editor is still based on WWE 2k18 and thus only partially working.

Now it should be easy for everyone to create their own .moveset files for WWE 2k19. Note that the actual Moves Editor isn't fully implemented yet and based on the WWE 2k18 version, as the Moves Section still needs to be properly broken down and analyzed (please click here to help with that!). But at least it should be partially workable, although it's recommended to use the in-game Moves Editor for the time being instead.

Please post feedback here, be it reports of how the tool is working for you, whether you have any problems, there are mistakes or everything is working smoothly.

Please also help out over in the WWE 2k19 Data Breakdown and Analysis thread so I can start working on the rest of the sections sooner.

Also, since most of the Data Lists haven't been updated yet, it would be great if some of you could update some and then send them to me so I can include them in the next release. You can find them in the Data Editor 2k19\Data\DataLists\ folder.

This is an early alpha version, keep in mind that features and how things work may change drastically until beta still. Test and use it at your own risk.

+ General: Fixed a couple of minor bugs.
+ DataLists: Updated EntranceMusicID.data.
+ DataLists: Updated TitantronID.data.
+ Files: Added the original, unmodified WWE 2k19 .pofo, .moveset and .team_info Files to the respective Templates folders.

I've added some templates so you guys can load them to use as a base. It should also make it easier for you to help update the DataLists.

An easy way to update many of the entries may be to load a each .moveset file into Data Editor and see if any of the boxes have missing or wrong names/information. Then go to Data Editor 2k19\Data\DataLists\ and update the respective .data list with a text editor like Notepad (they are named similarly to what the dropdown boxes say). Then upload the .data file somewhere and send me the link. Thank you very much!

K:\Data Editor 2k19.zip: Unexpected end of archive
Can You Fix This Error?

Or Upload It One More Time?

I've repacked and re-uploaded the file then downloaded it to test it. It should be working fine now. Just make sure to wait until the download is actually finished before you close your browser or do anything with the file, some browsers can take a while to "verify" the file.

One more thing. If you are running Windows 10 1809, roll back to 1803. There is a critical bug in 1809 that can randomly delete content from .zip archives and damage them in the process while extracting. Your problem sounds like it could be related to that.

@Cave Waverider Is there something different about the links you use for the Data Editor download/update? Both in the link in the first post and the link the Updater opens are getting hits for trojans by my anti-virus. I've used your tools and others in the past, but this is the only time my anti-virus has flagged the links as dangerous. Could you verify the ad site you're using is clean? I get the concept of false-positives, but if that is the case, what in your links/installers would be causing my anti-virus to identify them as threats? Thank you.
