Data Editor for WWE 2k16 is Designed to work in tandem with Custom Character Tools to make modding easier and more accessible for all

Note: The Data Editor for WWE 2k16 is considered EOL and thus no longer being actively developed, updated, maintained or supported as the developer's work is continued with the Data Editor for WWE 2k17.

Latest version: 2016.0.6.1 Beta | Synopsis: A program
for WWE 2k16 on the PC that features a GUI, allows users to easily edit, create and save .pofo, .moveset, .team_info files and install them into the game with the help of Custom Character Tools, unlocking alternate attires for wrestlers, applying a workaround to enable winning music for all attires of a wrestler and more.
The current release is a public beta release and some functions may not work as intended and require more testing. Please try it out and leave your feedback, especially if something doesn't work, but also let me know what works well and what you like. The Readme file includes more detailed information. This Tool only works properly with the official Steam version 1.01 of WWE 2k16.


Please follow this thread so you get updates whenever a new version is released. Please always download, install and use the latest version of the tool, as many bugs and issues that may have been in previous versions may be fixed and additional features available.

DESCRIPTION

This modding tool has been created to allow modders and users to easily edit and create Wrestler Information and Moveset files for their modded wrestlers, created superstars as well as tag teams and save them as .pofo, .moveset files and .team_info files, respectively. These files can be installed directly via TheVisitorX' Custom Character Tools (recommended), or be manually imported into the game via tools like Cheat Engine or Xpacker.
The Data Editor may also allow to set several options and option combinations for .pofo, .moveset and .team_info files that are normally hidden and/or inaccessible in the game.
In addition, the tool implements a GUI based on the Universal Alternate Attire Unlock helper mod that allows users to unlock alternate Attires for up to 100 wrestlers and easily change which wrestlers have attires unlocked and how many each.

Designed to work in tandem with Custom Character Tools by TheVisitorX to make modding easier and more accessible to everyone!

This is a Beta version. Some functions may not be properly implemented yet and there are likely various bugs. Please report them if you find them!

INSTALLATION

Installation steps:

1. Download and install the Java Runtime Enviroment 8u92 or later from:
http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/jre8-downloads-2133155.html
During the installation of Java, be careful to opt out of installing any additional programs and it might be a good idea to opt out of automatic updates as well.
2. Extract all files and directories from the archive to a directory of your choosing (be sure that you have full Read/Write privileges for the folder and keep the file and folder structure in the archive intact).
3. Run the included .exe file by double-clicking on it (depending on your Operating System's User Account privileges it might require you to run it as Administrator/with elevated privileges which is most recommended regardless for all features to work).
4. Once the tool starts for the first time, you'll be prompted to point the tool to your WWE2k16.exe file. Navigate to the folder WWE 2k16 is installed in on your computer and select the WWE2k16.exe file. This is required for all the features of the Data Editor to work properly.
5. When you click buttons to launch external tools for the first time, you'll be asked to point them to their respective executable files. If you do not have the respective external tools installed, download and install them first (you can always click the "Reset External Tool Directories" button to reset the paths of the tools so you can set them again).

DEINSTALLATION

Steps to Uninstall:

1. If you wish to keep your created/edited files, backup your \Moveset Files\, \Pofo Files\ and \Team Info Files\ folders.
2. If you wish to keep the saved Data Editor Settings, Directory data for the game, external tools, etc., backup the \data\ExternalToolDirectory*.data, \data\GameDirectory.data and \data\Setting*.data files before you continue.
3. If you wish to keep the old backups of your savegame, make a backup copy of the Data Editor's Backups folder.
4. Once you have completed steps 1.-3. and are certain you wish to uninstall the program, simply delete the program files and folders.

2016.03.28: VERSION 2016.0.1.1 Alpha:
+ Added "Change Game Directory" Buttons to Wrestler Information and Moveset Panes. These will allow you to easily change your game directory in case you have set it wrong or moved your game.
+ Added some basic error handling including error message popups if the setting or changing of the game directory failed.
+ Added/updated/fixed some of the data file entries for various Moveset dropdown boxes (there is still alot to go and inaccurate, however).

2016.03.29: VERSION 2016.0.2.0 Alpha:
+ Added support to launch various popular external tools like TheVisitorX' Sound Injector, his upcoming Custom Wrestler Installer, Pozzum's Memory and String tables and more from within the Data Editor. When you first click a button for an external tool, you'll be asked to point to the .exe file. The directory will be remembered and you'll be able to launch the external tools from there.

+ Fixed the outdated Strings in the Attire Unlocker's description that mentioned wrong file names. They should be accurate for the current version now.

2016.03.30: VERSION 2016.0.2.1 Alpha:
+ Fixed the "String Table" button to link to the correct String table for WWE 2k16 (it was previously linking to the 2k15 version). Downloading the previously issued hotfix is no longer required.
+ Fixed a major, lingering bug with string parsing of wrestlers with names that included numbers. This should now allow wrestlers like "Arnold T2" to be saved with the correct values in the entire application, including the .pofo, .moveset and Alternate Attire Unlocker sections.
+ Corrected a couple of ID descriptions (still lots to go).

2016.04.02: VERSION 2016.0.3.0 Alpha:
+ Advanced Entrance Editor has been implemented and activated.
+ Move Editor has been implemented and activated. This allows you to set moves for various move categories.
Note that only move types that were in WWE 2k15 are available right now. WWE 2k16 specific move types will be added in a later version. Until then you'll have to set them manually in the game.
+ Experimental ability to load WWE 2k15 .moveset data, edit it and save it as 2k16 .moveset data.
+ Some Additions and fixes to ID Data files (still many more to go!).

2016.04.03: VERSION 2016.0.3.1 Alpha:

2016.04.05: VERSION 2016.0.3.2 Alpha:
+ Fixed the scrollbars on Moveset pane that had bugged and vanished in the previous version, they are now visible and usable again.
+ Moved the buttons on the bottom of the Wrestler Information and Moveset Panes to the top of the respective pane, which should make them more easily accessible for users with lower resolution monitors.
+ Added more valid ID values for Entrance Themes, Titantrons, Minitrons and Walltrons.

2016.04.12: VERSION 2016.0.3.3 Alpha:
+ Updated most data for Wrestler IDs, Entrance Theme Music IDs, Entrance Animations and Winning Animations. A few might still be wrong or missing, but most should be fixed now.
+ Added all original .pofo and .moveset files from the unmodified game as well as empty ones as templates.

2016.04.25: VERSION 2016.0.5.0 Beta:
+ The Application has reached the Beta testing stage!
+ Wrestler Information and Moveset Creator 2k16 to Data Editor for WWE 2k16, as the name is more compact and reflects what it does better due to increased functionality from the original design.
+ Added support to pass absolute .pofo, .moveset and .team_info file paths to the Custom Character Tools (CCT) as Arguments when launching the external tool. This allows the .pofo, .moveset and .team_info files that have been edited in the Data Editor to be conveniently installed through TheVisitorX' Custom Character Tools.

2016.05.16: VERSION 2016.0.5.5 Beta:
+ General: Optimized the code to slightly reduce the application's memory footprint and improve performance.
+ Data Editor Settings: Added Checkbox to Show or Hide Names of mods in reserved slots of the Wrestler ID Lists/Dropdown Boxes. This box is ticked by default.
If the box is ticked, the names of modded wrestlers that have been reserved in Pozzum's Memory Table will be displayed in all lists of the Wrestler ID and Moveset checkboxes, including the .pofo Editor, .moveset Editor, .team_info Editor and Attire Unlocker. Mods in regularly available slots are marked with [] while mods in slots that require Pozzum's PacPlus are marked with <>.
If you untick the box, the ID Lists will only contain the names of wrestlers, managers and NPCs that are included with the game by default.
You need to restart the Data Editor after you change this setting in order for the changes to take effect.

2016.05.21: VERSION 2016.0.5.6 Beta:
+ Tools and Downloads: Added Button to start Shader Mutator in the Launch External Tools and Programs column and a button for the Shader Mutator Info and Download in the Downloads and other Links column.
+ General: Tweaked the code a little bit to improve performance slightly.

2016.06.10: VERSION 2016.0.5.7 Beta:
+ Moveset: Added "Entrance Media Workarounds" section to the right of the Entrance Media section. This new section features checkboxes for various entrance media workarounds.
+ Moveset: Renamed "Winning Music Workaround for all Attires" checkbox to "Force selected Entrance and Winning Music for all Attires" and moved it into the new "Entrance Media Workarounds" section.
+ Moveset: Added checkboxes to force the selected Titantron, Minitron and Walltron videos respectively for all attires. This can be used to force these videos for all attires of wrestlers included in the game that default to certain videos with certain attires that normally override the Entrance media settings.

2017.12.31: Version 2016.0.6.1 Beta "Pink Edition"
+ General: Data Editor for WWE 2k18 is now compatible with Java 9.
+ General: The minimum Java version required is now JRE 1.8.0 (aka Java 😎 x64 Bit.
+ General: Java Runtime Enviroment (JRE) 8u152 Windows x64 bit now comes bundled with the tool. This means that it should no longer be required to install Java separately.
While this sadly increases the download size by a lot, it should prevent the issues users were having with installing a compatible version of Java and launching Data Editor.

The tool is written in Java, and comes bundled with Java 8u152 (aka 1.8.0_152) for Windows x64 bit. In case it isn't working for you out of the box, you might install a newer version of the Java Runtime Enviroment x64 bit to run (it won't run with versions earlier than 1.8.0 or 32 bit versions for compatibility reasons). Java SE 8 or later is required. Earlier versions won't work.
If you wish to use the main version of Java that's installed on your system, you will also have to rename or delete the \Resources\Java\jre* folder(s) in your Data Editor directory, which contains the bundled JRE.

During the installation, be careful to opt out of installing any additional programs you may not want to use!

You have to run the Data Editor with elevated privileges ("Run as Administrator") for all of it's features to work properly.
This is due to it requiring access to various files and functions that require elevated privileges.

The tool is intended to be used to edit and create Wrestler Information, Moveset and Team Info files for the official Steam version of WWE 2k16 listed at the top of this readme file. The tool has been developed and tested for that very version. Any other versions, especially cracked ones, are not supported.

KNOWN ISSUES
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- The tool is designed for monitors with a vertical resolution of 1080 pixels. If your monitor has a lower native resolution, the tool may not display all GUI elements properly, most prominently the Load/Reset/Readme/Save buttons on the bottom.
Windows (and possibly other OS) DPI and font scaling isn't supported and could lead to GUI elements being cut off, layed over each other or being shoved outside of the visible GUI window. Workaround: Set DPI Scaling and "Display Settings->Change size of text, apps and other items" to 100% (or 96DPI or "Smaller" depending on OS version) in Windows.
- The tool currently requires you to pick the game's .exe file in the directory WWE 2k16 is installed in order to work properly.
- The Data Editor currently doesn't warn you about settings that are incompatible with each other, such as assigning the same Ability (of different or same level) to different slots or assigning Skills that are mutually exclusive. It also allows Hit Point percentages to be set below or above the threshold selectable in-game.
- The GUI Layout isn't ideal.
- Error handling is still very basic.
- Scrollbars are always enabled in the Wrestler Information Editor and Moveset Editor tabs.
- Scrollbars currently do not work in the Tag Team and Stable Editor or Tool, Help, Tutorials, Info & Downloads tabs.
- The Alternate Attire Unlocker only works properly with the misc file from the Universal Alternate Attire Unlock 2k16 or misc files based on it (the tool includes an installer if needed) or compatible versions. Trying it with other versions could mess up the files and game.
- Using the Alternate Attire Unlocker GUI currently always sets all attire names to Wrestlemania - Wrestlemania 10 (or Attire 1 - 10 with the string.pac from the Universal Alternate Attire Unlock or the recommended Future Proof String installed) as per Universal Alternate Attire Unlock conventions. Hex codes for custom attire names and original attire names are overwritten whenever you apply your changes in the Attire Unlocker GUI included in the Data Editor.
- Various ID lists from the dropboxes are not complete, use WWE 2k15 names as placeholders. They will be updated gradually. Feel free to help!
- Windows 10 64 bit is the only supported operating System, but it should likely also work with Windows 7 and 8. The tool might not work correctly under Linux, Unix and other operating systems, however.
- The Tag Team Editor doesn't check if you have duplicate Tag Team Members or if your Teams have Members 1 and 2.

Data Editor for WWE 2k16 Tutorials

Tutorials for the Data Editor will be posted here. If you've created a Tutorial for the Data Editor 2k16, please reply with a link and I'll post it here if it's good.
Feel free to also follow the text tutorials and create video tutorials based on them. I'll gladly post them here, too.

Please always use the latest version of the Data Editor with the latest Data Update (if applicable) and check the top post for updates frequently as older versions may be lacking some or many of the features described here, have bugs or work differently.

Using the Wrestler Information Editor to create and edit .pofo files:

Using the Wrestler Information Editor [.pofo]
1. Star the Data Editor and Click on the "Wrestler Information Editor [.pofo]" Tab. In this tab you will be able to create or load and edit Wrestler Information files.
2. Click on the "Load full .pofo file" button and select an existing .pofo file for your wrestler and click "Open". If you do not have an existing .pofo file for your wrestler, either load one of the Templates from the Templates folder (which contains the original, umodified .pofo files of all Wrestlers in the game) that you feel is closest to the wrestler you wish to install, or cancel the loading and fill in all the data yourself.
Note that the Data Editor for WWE 2k16 will also load WWE 2k15 .pofo files and convert them to WWE 2k16 when saved. This functionality is experimental, however, and it may not always work properly.

Basic Information

3. Under "Basic Information" click on the "Wrestler ID" Dropdown box and select the ID of the wrestler you wish to install. The ID is usually a numeric value XXX in the name of your wrestler mod's chXXX(YZ).pac file. If you aren't certain which ID to use, click on the "Memory Table" button. This will bring up the Memory Table for WWE 2k16 in your browser. Click on the Table and Search for your Wrestler's name (CTRL+F in most browsers). Once it's found, look in the same row in the Column "L" labelled "DEFAULT PACH" next to the wrestler name. This will be the ID to use for your wrestler which you should select in the Data Editor's "Wrestler ID" box.
Note that the Wrestler ID needs to be the same for the .pofo and .moveset files as well as the ch*.pac file.

Name String Hex Codes

. Under "Name String Hex Codes" there are four fields. These fields accept the Hex code that point to the value of Strings in the string.pac file. The .pofo files that come with mods or are found in the WWE 2k16 Moveset/Pofo Database should already have them set correctly. It's still a good idea to double-check if the codes are correct. Note that you will have to install the Future-Proof String for many custom names for mods to work properly (you can either install the Future-Proof String as part of the Universal Alternate Attire Unlocker installer included in the Data Editor or go to the "Tools, Help, Tutorials, Info & Downloads" tab in the Data Editor and click on the "Future-Proof String Info and Download" button in the "Downloads and other Links" column to download the latest version of the Future-Proof String).
To find out which value to use for your wrestler, click on the "String Table" button next to the fields. This will open the String Table in your browser. Click on the table and search for the Name of your wrestler. Once it's found, look in the same row in the column "A" labeled "Address". There you fill find the four-digit hexadecimal value code. Copy and paste it into the "Name field" of the Data Editor. You can also paste the same or a different code into the "Short Name", "Entrance Name" and "Social Account" fields or leave them blank. If you leave them blank, "Short Name" and "Entrance Name" will automatically be filled with the same value of "Name" and the "Social Account" will be set to an empty string and thus won't show up in the game.

Basic Information continued
5. Select the "Unlock status" you wish to use for your Wrestler. You can choose between "Unlocked", which you'll want to set in most cases as this will make your wrestler fully usable/playable, "Locked" (the wrestler won't be usable in the game) and "Manager", which will make the wrestler appear in the Manager tab and only be usable as a manager.
6.  The "Set as DLC" tab will allow you to make the game believe the wrestler is either a normal wrestler that comes with the base game or a Superstar that came as Downloadable Content. Set this to "Yes" if you want the wrestler to be selectable via the "Downloaded Superstars" Menu or "No" if you want the wrestler to be selectable in the regular "Superstars" menu during characters selection in the game.
7. The "Height" field allows you to set the height of your wrestler in feet and inches. Choose the appropriate value. If you are unsure which height your wrestler has, you can search the internet for the wrestler's wiki page which usually contains the height or some other website.
8. Select the Wrestler's "Weight Class". This class affects the maximum values of a wrestler's attributes (you can still exceed them in the Data Editor which isn't possible in the game, but it will work), if they can contend for light heavyweight/cruiserweight titles or if they can use the "Ring Breaker" Skill ("Super-Heavyweight" only).
9. The "Gender" Dropbox will allow you to choose between "Male" or "Female". "Male" wrestlers are able to be hit by anyone and can bleed, while "Female" wrestlers can't bleed and "Male" wrestlers will be disqualified if they hit them (You can set your female wrestlers to "Male" with this so you can have intergender matches).

Crowd Signs
11. Click the "Crowd Signs" button to open the Crowd signs window.
12. Choose four crowd signs. These will be held up by your wrestler's fans.
13. Click OK.

My WWE

14. The "Brand" dropbox allows you to set the brands your wrestler will be part of in "MyWWE". Note that this isn't settable via .pofo file for Universe mode in WWE 2k16, so you'll have to do that manually in the game.
15. Set the desired "Crowd Reaction" for MyWWE. You can choose between "Cheer" and "Boo", which will affect whether the crowd cheers or boos your wrestler in Exhibitions, My Career and whatever else is affected by MyWWE settings.

WWE Universe Mode
12. Set the desired "Crowd Reaction" for Universe Mode. 
You can choose between "Cheer" and "Boo", which will affect whether the crowd cheers or boos your wrestler in Universe Mode.

Abilities
16. Set your wrestler's desired "Abilities". Note that you can't choose the same Ability Type more than once or one will be removed upon saving.

Personality Traits

17. Set your wrestler's desired "Personality Traits" which will affect AI behavior of the wrestler. The values beginning with "+" are positive traits, the values beginning with "-" are negative traits. Note that these are only valid for MyWWE, as Universe mode uses a dynamic system.

Hit Points
18. Set the Hit Points for "Head", "Body", "Arms" and "Legs" via the respective sliders. Make sure that the total "Hit Point Percentage:" is "100%" before you save it or it could lead to oddities in the game.


Attributes
19. Set the "Attributes" for your wrestler. The Data Editor allows you to set the values that you can't set in the game due to weight class or other restrictions. Note that even the values that are deemed "invalid" by the game actually work, as long as you don't edit them in the game, in which case they will be reset to a legal value.

Skills

20. Set the "Skills" you wish your Wrestler to have or not have by ticking or unticking the appropriate checkboxes. Note that "Ring Breaker" will only work if your wrestler's "Weight Class" is set to "Super-Heavyweight". "Apron DDT" and "Apron Superplex" are mutually exclusive. Choose only one or the game will deactivate one of them. Same goes for the mutually exclusive group of "Outside Superplex", "Super Dropkick" and "Torpedo DDT".

Saving the .pofo file
21. Click the "Save .pofo file" button to save your work. The Wrestler information will now be saved in the "\Data Editor 2k16\Pofo Files\" directory under the name "Slot - <wrestlerID>.pofo".

Installing the .pofo file into the game
22. If you have the free Custom Character Tools installed, you can simply click the "Install .pofo via CCT" button to save the .pofo file, send it to CCT and proceed to install it while the game is running and in the main menu (see the appropriate guide for more details). This is the easiest way to install a .pofo file.
Alternatively, you can install the saved .pofo file created/edited in the Data Editor manually using tools like Cheat Engine or the commercial X-Packer, which is a bit more complicated.

Addendum 1: Loading parts of .pofo files
A1.1. Before you do this, it is highly recommended to use the "Load full .pofo file" button to load a template to work with first.
A1.2. Click the "Load select .pofo Parts" button to bring up the "Pofo Editor: Load Pofo Parts" Window.
A1.3 Tick the boxes of the parts you wish to load from a .pofo file and untick the boxes of the parts you do not wish to load.
A1.4. Click the "Choose .pofo file to load the parts selected above from" button.
A1.5. Choose the .pofo file you wish to load the selected parts from and click "Open".

Addendum 2: Reset Information
A2.1. Click on the "Reset Information" button to reset the information in the "Wrestler Information Editor [.pofo]" tab to the default values saved in the default.pofo template.

Using the Entrance and Moveset Editor to create and edit .moveset files:

Using the Entrance and Moveset Editor [.moveset]
1. Start the Data Editor and click on the "Entrance and Moveset Editor [.moveset]" Tab. In this tab you will be able to create or load and edit Moveset files.

Attires
4. Under "Attires" choose the attire that is selected by default. This requires Alternate Attires to be unlocked for this wrestler via the "Unlock Alternate Attires" button (explained in a separate tutorial).

Entrance Media
5. Select the "Entrance Theme Music" to be used for your Superstar. You can use the "Sound Injector" button to launch the external Sound Injector tool (has be downloaded and installed separately) in order to replace various Entrance Themes with your own.
6. Select the "Titantron Video" ID your wrestler should use. You can use one of the existing Titantrons or assign another ID if you wish to add your own tron for that ID yourself. Use the "Install Titantron via CCT" button to pass the Titantron ID to Custom Character Tools (=CCT, has to be downloaded and installed separately
) which will allow you to install it  (follow a separate Tutorial to install Titantrons via CCT).
7. Select the "Minitron Video" ID your wrestler should use. You can use one of the existing Minitrons or assign another ID if you wish to add your own tron for that ID yourself. Use the "Install Minitron via CCT" button to pass the Minitron ID to Custom Character Tools (=CCT, has to be downloaded and installed separately) which will allow you to install it (follow a separate Tutorial to install Minitrons via CCT).
8. Select the "Walltron Video" ID your wrestler should use. You can use one of the existing Walltrons or assign another ID if you wish to add your own tron for that ID yourself. Use the "Install Walltron via CCT" button to pass the Minitron ID to Custom Character Tools (=CCT, has to be downloaded and installed separately) which will allow you to install it (follow a separate Tutorial to install Walltrons via CCT).


Entrance Media Workarounds
9. If you want the selected Entrance Music for your wrestler to play during the entrance and after the Match with any Attire, tick the checkbox labelled "Force selected Entrance and Winning Music for all Attires". By default, the game doesn't play music for many wrestlers or attires added via mods, so it's generally a good idea to tick this box. Please read the warning message in the Data Editor once you tick that box for some important information about this experimental feature and it's potential side-effects.
10. If you want the selected Titantron Video for your wrestler to play after the Match with any Attire, tick the checkbox labelled "Force selected Titantron Video for all Attires". The game doesn't play Trons for some default wrestlers or attires added via mods, so it might be a good idea to tick this box if you experience such issues. Please read the warning message in the Data Editor once you tick that box for some important information about this experimental feature and it's potential side-effects.
11. If you want the selected Minitron Video for your wrestler to play after the Match with any Attire, tick the checkbox labelled "Force selected Minitron Video for all Attires". Entrance Animations
13. Select the ID of the "Entrance Animation" to use. This will be the basic entrance that will be used if an Advanced Entrance isn't set and also used as a Template for that wrestler.
14. Select the ID of the "Championship Entrance" animation to use. This entrance will be used for the Wrestler if she or he holds a championship, no matter if the Advanced Entrance is enabled or not.

Winning Animations
15. Under "Winning Animations", set the "Winning Animation" for the wrestler. This is the animation that will play when the wrestler wins a match.
16. Set the "Champion Winning" animation for the wrestler. This animation will play after winning a Championship match. If you do not set this, the game will use the default animation instead. The IDs for the actual Championship Winning animations with belts start at 9000, although the Data Editor will allow you to use a regular one without a belt as well.

Advanced Entrance
17. If you do not wish to use any of the basic entrances and want to customize your "Advance Entrance" for your wrestler instead, please tick the "Advanced Entrance Enabled" checkbox.
Note that Advanced Entrances may have some issues with theme music either not playing, playing multiple times, starting late, not stopping, etc., which is a bug with the game.
18. Click the "Intro", "Stage", "Ramp", "Ring-In" and "Ring" buttons to bring up the Advanced Entrance Editor window for the respective part of the Advanced Entrance.
19. Select the motion/Animation for the selected Advanced Entrance part. Note that some of the ones in the dropdown list that aren't usually available in the game may not work properly or even crash the game, some others may work, though.
20. If you wish to display the Nameplate during this phase of the Entrance, tick the "Display Entrance Nameplate" checkbox. This will enable the timeline slider below it. Set the slider to a frame number (30 frames/1 notch = approximately 1 second depending on your framerate in the game).
Note that you can only set the nameplate to show up in one Entrance part. So choose wisely.
21. Set the "Lighting" for the Entrance part and choose the time in the timeline where each "Lighting" should begin (30 frames/1 notch = approximately 1 second depending on your framerate in the game). Note that the Data Editor will allow you to set up to five Lighting types per entrance part, but since you can only set two per entrance part in the game setting more than two could lead to adverse side effects like lag or even crashes.
22. Set the "Pyrotechnics" for the Entrance part and choose the time in the timeline where each "Pyro" should begin (30 frames/1 notch = approximately 1 second depending on your framerate in the game). Note that the Data Editor will allow you to set up to five Pyro types per entrance part, but since you can only set two per entrance part in the game setting more than two could lead to adverse side effects like lag or even crashes.
23. Set the "Scren Effects" for the Entrance part and choose the time in the timeline where each "Screen Effect" should begin 
(30 frames/1 notch = approximately 1 second depending on your framerate in the game). Note that the Data Editor will allow you to set up to five Screen Effect types per entrance part, but since you can only set two per entrance part in the game setting more than two could lead to adverse side effects like lag or even crashes.
24. Click the "OK" button when you're done setting the advanced entrance part. Repeat steps 17. - 24. for each part of the Advanced Entrance.

Moves
25. Click on one of the buttons "Standard Actions", "Corner", "Running", "Standing Strikes", "Rope", "Tag Team", "Standing Grapples", "Apron", "Weight Detection", "Ground", "Diving", "Special Moves" to edit/set various parts of the moveset of your wrestler.
26. Select Moves and actions for each Move Type/Action type. Do not forget to set any moves or using the wrestler with this .moveset may freeze, crash or lead to other problems in the game, thus it's recommended to load the Moves from an existing .moveset Template file (click the "Load select .moveset Parts"  buton and untick everything but the "Moves" checkbox, then click "Choose .moveset file toload the parts selected above from") and edit those slightly instead.
Note that you can select all Moves for all move types in the Data Editor. There are no restrictions or checks in place if the move actually works in the selected slot. Be careful which moves you set, as some might lead to wierd behavior. It is generally recommended to set the moves with the in-game moveset editor, export the .moveset via CCT and only make smaller changes to Moves themselves with the Data Editor instead).
27. Click "OK" when you're done setting the moves in this window and repeat steps 25. - 27. for the other move buttons.

Saving the .moveset file
28. Click the "Save .moveset file" button to save your work. The Moveset will now be saved in the "\Data Editor 2k16\Moveset Files\" directory under the name "Slot - <wrestlerID>.moveset".

Installing the .moveset file into the game
29. If you have the free Custom Character Tools installed, you can simply click the "Install .moveset via CCT" button to save the .moveset file, send it to CCT and proceed to install it while the game is running and in the main menu (see the appropriate guide for more details). This is the easiest way to install a .moveset file.
Alternatively, you can install the .moveset file created/edited in the Data Editor manually using tools like Cheat Engine or the commercial X-Packer, which is a bit more complicated.


Addendum 1: Loading parts of .moveset files
A1.1. Before you do this, it is highly recommended to use the "Load full .moveset file" button to load a template to work with first.
A1.2. Click the "Load select .pofo Parts" button to bring up the "Moveset Editor: Load Moveset Parts" Window.
A1.3 Tick the boxes of the parts you wish to load from a .moveset file and untick the boxes of the parts you do not wish to load.
A1.4. Click the "Choose .moveset file to load the parts selected above from" button.
A1.5. Choose the .moveset file you wish to load the selected parts from and click "Open".

Addendum 2: Reset Moveset
A2.1. Click on the "Reset Moveset" button to reset the information in the "Entrance and Moveset Editor [.moveset]" tab to the default values saved in the default.moveset template.

Installing the Universal Alternate Attire Unlock
1. Open the Data Editor.
2. Click on the "Entrance and Moveset Editor [.moveset]" tab and click the "Unlock Alternate Attires" Button or go to the "Tools, Help, Tutorials, Info & Downloads" tab and click on the "Universal Alternate Attire Unlocker" button in the "Launch External Mod Tools & Programs" column.
3. If you do not have the Universal Alternate Attire Unlock or compatible misc01_start_dlc10.pac file installed, the Universal Alternate Attire Unlock installer will start automatically. Otherwise you can start the installer by clicking on the "Reinstall Alternate Attire Unlock" button on the Bottom of the "Alternate Attire Unlocker Window" to install/reinstall the Alternate Attire Unlock with it's default settings as well as the included optional Future-Proof String at any time.
4. In the "Universal Alternate Attire Unlock Installer" Window, read and follow the instructions carefully.
5. Tick or untick the checkbox "Install string.pac, the 'Future-Proof String' with Attire names and added names for various wrestler mods (Optional)" to install the included string.pac. This string.pac file is the version of the Future-Proof string that was the latest at the time of the upload of the Data Editor/Universal Alternate Attire Unlock. You can check which version is included in the changelog section of the Readme file of the Universal Alternate Attire Unlock by clicking the "View Readme" button in the installer Window.
Ticking this box is highly recommended, unless you already have the latest version of the Future-Proof String installed or you are using your own customized string.pac file.
6. Verify that the path in the "Installation Directory:" field is the correct path wher your WWE 2k16 game is installed in. If it isn't, click the "Change Installation Directory" button and select the directory the game is installed in and the WWE2K16.exe file, then click "Open".
7. Click "Install Universal Alternate Attire Unlock" to install it with the chosen options. Note that this will reset any customized alternate attires and attire names you may have had set before. If you do not wish to do this, click "Cancel".
8. You should now be able to Unlock Alternate Attires for your wrestlers of choice via the Alternate Attire Unlocker GUI.

1. Open the Data Editor.

4. There is a "Wrestler" Box as well as a "# of Attires" box for each of the 100 wrestler slots that are supported by the game to unlock up to 10 alternate attires for.
5. To add alternate attires to a wrestler Pick one of the set boxes with the wrestler ID of a wrestler you do not need alternate attires for. Then select the ID of the wrestler you wish to have Alternate Attires with. Again, this is the same ID as the ID in the .pofo, .moveset or ch*.pac file of the wrestler.
6. Set the number of attires in the "# of Attires" dropdown box to the right of the wrestler.
7. Check if the Game Directory is set properly (otherwise click the "Change Game Directory Button" then click "Save Data to misc01_start_dlc10.pac file to save and install your settings into the game. Note that you'll have to restart the game for the changes to take effect.
If you do not wish to save the settings, click Cancel instead.

Using the Tag Team and Stable Editor [.team_info]
1. Click on the "Tag Team and Stable Editor [.team_info]" Tab. In this tab you will be able to create or load and edit Team Info files.
2. Click on the "Load .team_info file" button and select an existing .team_info file for your team. If you do not have a .team_info file for your team, either load one of the Templates from the Templates folder (which contains the original, umodified .team_info files of all Teams in the game) that you feel is closest to the team you wish to install, or cancel the loading and fill in all the data yourself.

Basic Team Information
3. Under "Basic Team Information" click on the "Team ID" Dropdown box and select the ID of the team you wish to install. The Team ID is a number between 1-77 for MyWWE teams and 101-177 for teams in WWE Universe Mode. Teams 78-100 and 178-200 aren't available in the game, although they might possibly work anyway (untested).
4. You can enter the name of your Tag Team in the "Team Name" text field. Note that the name will be cut off after 27 characters when saving the file, as that's the maximum number of characters the Team Name can have in the game.

5. Select the name the announcer should call the team by with the "Team Announce Name" dropdown box. Choose "65535 None" if you do not wish announcers to call the team by one of the available announce names.

Team Members
6. Select the "Wrestler ID" for each "Team Member". Note that you have to pick an ID for Team Member 1 and Team Member 2. Team Members 3-5 are optional.
The ID is usually a numeric value XXX in the name of your wrestler mod's chXXX(YZ).pac file. If you aren't certain which ID to use, click on the "Memory Table" button. This will bring up the Memory Table for WWE 2k16 in your browser. Click on the Table and Search for your Wrestler's name (CTRL+F in most browsers). Once it's found, look in the same row in the Column "L" labelled "DEFAULT PACH" next to the wrestler name. This will be the ID to use for your wrestler which you should select in the Data Editor's "Wrestler ID" box.

Duo Entrance Media
7. Select the "Duo Entrance Theme Music" to be used for your duo/tag team entrance. You can use the "Sound Injector" button to launch the external Sound Injector tool (has be downloaded and installed separately) in order to replace various Entrance Themes with your own.
8. Select the "Duo Titantron/Walltron Video" ID your duo tag team entrance should use. Contrary to singles wrestlers, the game uses the same ID for Titantron and Walltron during team entrances, so you can't set them separately and need to use a Titantron/Walltron combination with the same IDs for both to work. You can use one of the existing Titantrons/Walltrons or assign another ID if you wish to add your own tron for that ID yourself. Use the "Install Titantron" button to pass the Titantron ID to Custom Character Tools (=CCT, has to be downloaded and installed separately) which will allow you to install it  (follow a separate Tutorial to install Titantrons via CCT).

1. Start the Data Editor regularly and click on the "Tools, Help, Tutorials, Info, Downloads & Settings" tab or start it with the "Data Editor.exe" -help parameter.
2. The "Launch External Mod Tools & Programs" section contains buttons that can be used to launch mod tools and programs. Some of them are hard-coded, others can be set individually.
3. The "Information and Resources" section contains buttons that lead to Readme files of the Data Editor and included things and other useful information and resources.
4. The "Tutorials and Guides" Column features buttons that open various Guides  and Tutorials like this one.
5. The "Downloads and other Links" section features buttons that open websites with Downloads of the latest version and Information of the Data Editor and other useful modding tools and files in your browser. Use these buttons frequently to check the links for updates!
6. The "WWE 2k16 Game Tools" section at the bottom left houses buttons that allow you to launch WWE 2k16 directly from Data Editor, Install a fix for startup crashes with mods. 
It also allows you to launch external WWE 2k16 Game Tools like Pozzum's Match Select with PacPlus and open a text file with all the "Match, Belt, Arena & Ring IDs" that can be used in Match Select.
It also contains freely configurable buttons that you can point to the .exe files of any game-related Trainers of your choosing to be able to quickly launch them with the same buttons in Data Editor.
8. The "Data Editor Settings" section at the bottom right includes Buttons to "Change Data Editor Color Theme" which allows you to adjust the colors used by the Data Editor if you don't like the default color, "Change WWE 2k16 Game Directory" if it's set wrong (if you moved your game/steam folder to a new disc, for example), "Reset All External Tool Directories" which will reset all the directories for external tools and prompt you to set each anew next time you press the corresponding button), a checkbox to "Automatically Close the Data Editor when sending .pofo, .moveset or .team_info files via CCT", a checkbox to "Display Names of Wrestler Mods in reserved Slots of Wrestler ID Lists" which will display the Names of mods next to the Wrestler IDs set in compliance with Pozzum's WWE 2k16 Memory Table.  There is also a "Donate" button which allows you to donate if you'd like to support the Data Editor for WWE 2k16.

Installing Wrestlers with Data Editor via Custom Character Tools
The Data Editor for WWE 2k16 comes with functionality to install .pofo and .moveset files via Custom Character Tools. While Custom Character Tools can load and install these files on it's own, it's a good idea to go through the step of installing it through the Data Editor, especially in case you have downloaded your .pofo and .moveset files from somewhere and don't know if they are correct. Loading them into the Data Editor will let you verify them and using it's "Install via CCT" function (and thus saving them through it) alone may correct some errors in the files due to the built-in verification routines as well.

1. Download the Data Editor for WWE 2k16 and install it (installation instructions can be found in the included Readme file).
2. Start the Data Editor. If it's the first time you start the Data Editor you will be asked to point it to the game executable WWE2K16.exe. Please do so.
3. Click on the "Tools, Help, Tutorials, Info & Downloads" tab.
4. In the "Downloads and other Links" column, click on the button labeled "Custom Character Tools (CCT) Info and Download". This will open your Web Browser with the download page for CCT.
5. Download and install CCT.
6. Find a wrestler mod you wish to install, download and extract it somewhere and remember where.
7. If the mod doesn't come with a .pofo and .moveset file, click the "WWE 2k16 Moveset/Pofo Database" Button in the "Downloads and other Links" column of the "Tools, Help, Tutorials, Info & Downloads" tab, search for the .pofo and .moveset files for your wrestler there and download and extract them if needed.
If you can't find a .pofo and/or .moveset file for your wrestler, create them with the data Editor yourself (follow the Detailed Tutorials "
Using the Wrestler Information Editor [.pofo]" and "Using the Entrance and Moveset Editor [.moveset]" posted here on how to do that) or load one of the many templates in the \Templates\ folders and skip to step 10..
8. Copy the .pofo file to your "
\Data Editor 2k16\Pofo Files\" directory.
9. Copy the .moveset file to your "\Data Editor 2k16\Moveset Files\" Directory.
10. Click the "Wrestler Information Editor [.pofo]" tab of the Data Editor.
11. Click the "Load full .pofo file" button and select the .pofo file for your wrestler. Then click "Open". to load it into the Data Editor.
12. Verify that all your .pofo file settings are correct and make changes if necessary or wanted (details on how to do that can be found in the Tutorial "Using the Wrestler Information Editor [.pofo]").
13. Click the "Save .pofo file" button to save your work. The Wrestler information will now be saved in the "\Data Editor 2k16\Pofo Files\" directory under the name "Slot - <wrestlerID>.pofo".
14. If you want to install both the .pofo and .moveset file together, continue to step 14.
If you only want to install the .pofo file but not the .moveset file,  however, click the "Install .pofo via CCT" button to save the .pofo file (it will be saved in the "\Data Editor 2k16\Pofo Files\" directory under the name "Slot - <wrestlerID>.pofo"), send it to CCT and skip to step 15.

15. Click the "Entrance and Moveset Editor [.moveset]" tab of the Data Editor.
11. Click the "Load full .moveset file" button and select the .moveset file for your wrestler. Then click "Open". to load it into the Data Editor.
12. Verify that all your .moveset file settings are correct and make changes if necessary or wanted (details on how to do that can be found in the Tutorial "Using the Entrance and Moveset Editor [.moveset]").
13. Click the "Install .moveset via CCT" button to save the .moveset file (it will be saved in the "\Data Editor 2k16\Moveset Files\" directory under the name "Slot - <wrestlerID>.moveset") and send it to CCT.
15. If you haven't linked CCT to the Data Editor yet, you will be asked to choose the Executable of the Custom Character Tools. Select the folder where you installed CCT to and click on the "
Custom Character Tools.exe" file and click "Open". This step is required only the first time.
16. Custom Character Tools will now start and the .pofo and/or .moveset file you have sent with the Data Editor will be loaded in it. If you already have copied your wrestler's ch*.pac file(s) to the game directory yourself, skip forward to step 18. Otherwise continue with step 17.
17. Click the "..." button in the "chxxx.pac files" field and select the chXXX(YZ).pac file(s) of the wrestler you wish to install. Make sure that the XXX in the file name(s) is(are) the same as the ID in the Slot - XXX.pofo and Slot - XXX.moveset file names. If not, then rename it accordingly beforehand. Click "Open".
Don't worry about hex editing the .PACH file inside the .pac file, as Custom Character Tools will take care for it for you. Just make sure the XXX in the chXXXYZ.pac file is named correctly with XXX being the Wrestler's ID.
18. If you haven't done so yet, check CCT's Settings->Settings to see if the Game Directory, Save Game directory and Data Editor directories are properly set. If not, click on the respective "..." buttons in the "Settings" Window to set them manually and click the "Save" button. 
19. If the game isn't running, start the game (you can do so by clicking the "WWE 2k16" Button in the "Tools, Help, Tutorials, Info & Downloads" tab of the Data Editor or starting it manually via Steam or start menu shortcut), wait for it to load and enter the main menu.
20. Keep the game running and switch back to CCT.
21. Back in CCT, click the "Install" Button and follow the instructions on the screen.
22. Once the installation is done, you can close CCT and switch back to the game and save it, for example by going to MyWWE->Edit Superstars and editing and saving the brands settings of any superstar.
23. If you chose to install any ch*.pac files while the game was running, you'll have to restart the game, otherwise the game will crash when you try to select/play with the modded character. The game only loads .pac files when it starts.
If you installed a .pofo and/or .moveset file(s) only and had the ch*.pac file installed properly before you started the game, you don't have to restart the game (but you can still do so just to be safe).
24. Your Superstar should now be properly installed and usable in the game.

1. Download and install the Data Editor and Custom Character Tools.
2. Launch the game and go to the main menu.
3. Open Custom Character Tools.
4. If you haven't done so yet, check CCT's Settings->Settings to see if the Game Directory, Save Game directory and Data Editor directories are properly set. If not, click on the respective "..." buttons in the "Settings" Window to set them manually and click "Save" button. 
5. Click the "Export" button then select "Pofo/Moveset Exporter" or "Team-Info Exporter", depending on which type of files you wish to export.
6. Select the slot of the Wrestler or Team ID you wish to Export. 
7. Under "What do you want to export?" choose "Pofo" if you want to export only a .pofo file, "Moveset" if you only wish to export a .moveset file, "Pofo and moveset" if you wish to export both the .pofo and .moveset file of the wrestler.
This option isn't available for exporting .team_info files.
8. Click on the " Export and open in "Data Editor" " button.
9. You will be prompted to save the selected files do so and save them.
10. The Data Editor will start automatically and load the selected files.
11. Now you can edit the files however you want and then save them and/or reimport them into the game via the respective "Install .* via CCT" button of the Data Editor (check the other tutorials to see how to do that).

How to easily fix the WWE 2k16 game crash on startup with installed Mods using the Data Editor:
1. Download and install the latest version of the Data Editor for WWE 2k16.
2. Ensure that the game isn't running (if you tried to run it before and it crashed it could still be running in the background - use the task manager to kill it in that case or restart your computer).
3. Start the Data Editor.
4. Point the Data Editor to the WWE2k16.exe file if you are prompted to do so.
5. Click on the "Tools, Help, Tutorials, Info, Downloads & Settings" tab.
6. Under "WWE 2k16 Game Tools", click on the Button "Fix Startup Crash with Mods" to launch the installer for the fix.
7. Follow the instructions in the "Empty chunk_cache.bin Fix Installer" Window that pops up.
8. Start the Game, which should work without a problem now.

This works for modded wrestlers as well as the original wrestlers and attires in the game.

1. Download and Install the Data Editor and Custom Character Tools.
2. Start the Data Editor.
3. Click on the "Entrance and Moveset Editor [.moveset]" tab. 
4. Click the "Load full .moveset file" button.
5. Select the .moveset file of the wrestler you wish to enable winning music for all attires for.
If you do not have the .moveset file, follow the Tutorial labelled "Exporting .pofo, .moveset and/or .team_info files from the Game via CCT directly into the Data Editor" to export it from the game before you continue with the next step, or choose an existing Wrestler's original, unmodified .moveset file from the "Templates" folder instead.
6. Click the "Open" button.
7. In the "Entrance Media Workarounds" section on the right side, tick the "Force selected Entrance and Winning Music for all Attires" checkbox.
Please also read the warning message that pops up underneath the box which is relevant in case you're enabling the workaround for a wrestler with different entrance themes for different attires.
8. Verify that all other Moveset settings are the way you like them to be and make any other changes you want to make. If you aren't clear on any of the settings, follow the tutorial labelled "Using the Entrance and Moveset Editor to create and edit .moveset files".
9. Click the "Install .moveset file via CCT" button to reinstall the .moveset into the game. If you don't want to install it into the game with CCT just yet, click the "Save .moveset file" button instead.
10. Save your game by changing any value like brand or crowd reaction for any Wrestler in MyWWE.
11. Your wrestler will now have winning music for all attires.

Set Crowd Signs for your Wrestlers:
1. Download and install the latest version of the Data Editor for WWE 2k16.
2. Start the Data Editor.
3. Point the Data Editor to the WWE2k16.exe file if you are prompted to do so.
4. Click on the "Wrestler Information Editor [.pofo]" tab.
6. Load your .pofo file or fill in the values to create a new one.
7. Click on the "Crowd Signs" button.
8. Select four crowd sign IDs you wish your Superstar's fans to hold up. You can either chose IDs of sings included in the game or other IDs for additional, modded signs* (must be installed separately).

8. When done, click the "Install .pofo via CCT" button to install the .pofo file into the game with the help of Custom Character Tools (game must be running).
9. Save the game.
10. Your wrestler's fans should now hold up the selected crowd signs.

* If you create your own signs for your wrestler, it's recommended to use the following naming convention: for the ID: XXX01-XXX04, where XXX is the wrestler ID.

The available Strings for any of the name String Hex Codes, including the Social Account Strings as well as their hex codes are listed in Pozzum's WWE 2k16 String Table. You should be able to use any of the Strings in any of the Name String Hex Code fields of my tool.

+ Added "Change Game Directory" Buttons to Wrestler Information and Moveset Panes. These will allow you to easily change your game directory in case you have set it wrong or moved your game.

+ Added/updated/fixed some of the data file entries for various Moveset dropdown boxes (there is still alot to go and inaccurate, however).

Any chance to add generic themes? Wasn;t able to find them.

You should be able to find them in Data Editor version 2016.0.1.1 and later starting at 7000_0_0_0 (scroll all the way down).

When you first click a button for an external tool, you'll be asked to point to the .exe file. The directory will be remembered and you'll be able to launch the external tools from there.
+ Added a Button to reset the Path info for all External Tools.
+ Fixed the outdated Strings in the Attire Unlocker's description that mentioned wrong file names. They should be accurate for the current version now.
+ Added a fancy application icon.
+ Added a little color.

Is it possible to create or assign move-set from 2K16 to 2k15? 

No, at least not yet. It's very complicated, as many move IDs as well as names are no longer the same, some moves are missing and it actually just might be too much work to code a proper conversion feature, so it might not happen at all, or very late in development. But I'll have to finish the moveset portion for 2k16 first before I even start worrying about that. It'll take a while, though, as figuring out the moveset properly as well as implementing it for proper loading and saving is alot of work and I don't know how much time I'll have on my hands since the Easter holidays are over. Then again, anyone that likes to may help me figure out the rest of the bytes in the .moveset file in the meantime, which should speed things up considerably. :)

Can I play as NPC's like Miss Elizabeth using this tool?

No, at least not entirely (you can create a .pofo and .moveset for her and inject it to unlock her, for example). There are unlockers that just unlock her, though. This tool is more about creating the files that are required to add wrestlers as well as unlocking alternate attires that may be installed. Check Pozzum's guides and trainers to unlock NPCs like Miss Liz to be playable.

Well, it doesn't really install the mods, but it allows you to easily create the files necessary to install them. TheVisitorX' upcoming Custom Character Installer is already supported with this version, so once he releases that you'll be able to install it then click on the corresponding button in the Wrestler Information and Moveset Creator, launch his tool and use the .pofo and .moveset files created with the WIAMC with it to install the mods.

It would be great to figure out how to use old move-set on superstars or even better on custom superstars because sometimes when they release a new game the change or remove some of those moves or develop new ones that we wish to have on previous games. That would be helpful on future games too. And sure, I will give it a try and start working on the "bytes of the moveset". Thank you very much for your work, Cave.

ATTENTION!

There has been a little malheur with the link to Pozzum's String table as I have been supplied the one for WWE 2k15 instead of WWE 2k16. It has already been fixed, so people that download version 2016.0.2.0 of the Wrestler Information and Moveset creator now will already have the fixed link when clicking the button.

Everyone else can either re-download the entire tool or simply download this small fix (356 Bytes) and replace the file ExternalToolStringTableUri.data in the \data\ folder of the Wrestler Information and Moveset Creator 2k16 with the fixed version.

I'm sorry about this inconvenience, I didn't notice when I pushed the update late last night/early this morning.

No, and it isn't likely that people will. I'd imagine it could be similar to adding renders to custom wrestlers this year. But maybe someone will find it out. :)

But that bug, it happens with every theme? Or just customs one?

The theme doesn't matter.

By the way, If anybody has the new Xpacker that supports the latest patch and would like to use it to extract all the .pofo and .moveset files from a fresh savegame (make sure to back your main save game up first, though), zip them up and upload them, please let me know. It would be nice if I could add them as templates for the tool and they should make it easier for me to figure some of the missing moveset information out as well.
