WWE 2K25 Cover Art Updated – Could a New Edition Be on the Way?

WWE 2K25’s cover art has been changed, sparking rumours of a new edition.

If you’ve fired up WWE 2K25 recently, you might have noticed a small but interesting change on the digital storefronts. The cover art for the base game on PlayStation and Xbox has been updated, with Paul Heyman removed from the shot, leaving Roman Reigns front and centre in the ring.

On its own, a cover swap isn’t necessarily big news — but in the world of WWE 2K, it’s often been the first hint of something bigger.

A Pattern in Past Years

Over the last few games, 2K has made similar cover changes ahead of announcing new editions or special promotions:

  • WWE 2K22 – A holiday cover featuring Rey Mysterio in a spiked mask.

  • WWE 2K23 – A Bad Bunny cover which led to a special edition featuring a new version of the artist in-game.

  • WWE 2K24 – A Bray Wyatt-themed cover rolled out just before the Bray Wyatt Edition was revealed, complete with bonus Fiend content.

Given that track record, the updated Roman Reigns cover could be laying the groundwork for another special edition or promotional release.

Why Now?

The timing is interesting. The next DLC pack for WWE 2K25 isn’t due until September, leaving a gap in the release schedule. That could make this the perfect moment for 2K to drop a limited-time edition or themed bundle to keep the buzz going.

Of course, nothing has been confirmed yet — so for now, it’s just speculation. But if the past is anything to go by, it might be worth keeping an eye on the store pages over the coming weeks.
