A brand-new update has just dropped for WWE 2K25, and while Patch 1.22 is on the smaller side, it still brings a mix of fixes, fresh content in MyFaction, and even a free-to-play weekend with bonus VC up for grabs.
Here’s everything you need to know.
Patch 1.22 Details
2K’s latest update comes in at around 1.6GB on PlayStation and 2.3GB on Xbox. As expected, the patch notes start with the usual “General Stability and Performance Improvements”, but there are also two specific fixes worth noting:
-
Tournament Match Fix – Resolved an issue where tournament matches were being incorrectly added to save data.
-
Locker Code Fix – Addressed a problem with certain codes being wrongly censored, most notably on the Switch 2 version. This prevented players from redeeming the CHACHING12500 code due to a text filter.
That issue has now been sorted, and if you haven’t redeemed it yet, you can claim it on all consoles for 12,500 VC.
Universe Mode Issues Resolved
While not listed in the official patch notes, Universe Mode players will be pleased to hear this update also appears to fix the problems caused by last month’s 1.20 patch – namely:
-
Matches disappearing from the match card.
-
Game crashes when trying to load matches.
The 1.20 update was infamous for corrupting Universe saves, leaving shows with only three or four matches or even blank matches that would crash on load.
If your save was affected, Patch 1.22 should restore things to normal – but if you’re mid-way through a show with missing matches, you’ll need to simulate to the next show from the calendar before the fix takes effect. After doing this, everything worked fine in my own testing.
Free Weekend & VC Giveaway
For Xbox and Steam players with Xbox Game Pass, the Standard Edition of WWE 2K25 is free to play this weekend as part of SummerSlam celebrations. The offer runs until August 4th.
There’s also a free MyRise Boost & VC Bundle available from the Xbox Store, giving:
-
Upgrade points for your MyRise character.
-
32,500 VC to spend in MyFaction, perfect for picking up persona cards and unlocking new characters.
MyFaction Updates
Alongside the patch, new SummerSlam card packs have been added, featuring fresh Diamond Tier cards and the new Superstar Series 3 set.
2K has also permanently lowered the price of persona cards in the MyFaction store. The arrival of higher-rated Diamond cards means the older, lower-tier cards now cost a fraction of their original price, making it much easier to complete your collection.
Final Thoughts
That’s about it for this week’s WWE 2K25 update. The patch might be small, but Universe Mode players will be relieved to see their shows back in working order, and the MyFaction additions plus free VC giveaway are a nice bonus.
What do you make of the update? Have you noticed any other changes not listed in the patch notes? Let me know in the comments.
