With the release of WWE 2K25’s Dunk & Destruction DLC just around the corner, we’ve now had our first proper look at Abyss — and it’s a big one for the series. The WWE Games team have dropped his full entrance video, confirmed his original TNA theme music is included, and even shown off some new footage of his infamous weapon, Janice.

A First for the Series

Abyss’ addition is more than just a cool new character — it’s historic. This is the first time a wrestler who has never appeared in WWE has been officially added to the WWE 2K series.

According to several sources, this inclusion may be something of a litmus test for 2K. The thinking is that if Abyss is well-received and heavily used in-game, it could open the door for more legends from outside WWE’s history to join future titles.

TNA & AAA Connections

This move ties directly into WWE’s recent partnership with TNA, which is already creating opportunities to showcase TNA talent in new ways. On top of that, WWE’s acquisition of AAA means even more potential legends could be brought in — and perhaps even current stars like Mr Iguana, who turned heads at Worlds Collide and already has merchandise on WWE Shop.

While we’re still a long way from anything resembling a full TNA invasion in WWE 2K, Abyss’ inclusion proves that licensing music from the TNA library is possible. This could pave the way for retro versions of wrestlers complete with their original themes.

One name that immediately comes to mind is AJ Styles. Given that his TNA theme was also composed by Dale Oliver (the same composer for Abyss’ music), it now feels more realistic than ever that we could see a classic Styles in a future game.

First Look at Janice

Alongside the entrance video, 2K also shared a short clip of Abyss wielding Janice, his infamous spiked 2x4. The footage shows a close-up of the weapon, and based on the animation, it seems to share some motions with the in-game baseball bat — including a taunt where Abyss actually strikes himself with the spikes.

Fans were quick to point this out in the comments, and Abyss himself responded by quoting the post:

“So incredibly honoured!!! Let’s do this!”

The Dunk & Destruction DLC releases soon, and if Abyss’ reaction — and the fan excitement — are anything to go by, this could be the start of something much bigger for crossover legends in WWE 2K.
