The next NBA crossover star for WWE 2K25’s Dunk & Destruction DLC Pack has been revealed — and it’s none other than basketball legend Shaquille O’Neal. The pack launches Wednesday, June 25th, and Shaq is bringing his larger-than-life personality to the squared circle.
Shaq Joins the Roster
Ahead of RAW on Monday, WWE Games announced Shaq’s inclusion, posting on X:
“Shaquille O’Neal’s not just dunking, he’s dropping elbows from the top rope! Who’s ready to play as him in #WWE2K25's Dunk & Destruction Pack soon!”
Alongside the announcement, 2K released a full entrance preview, showing a modern-day Shaq model complete with a full beard, black attire, and taped wrists.
Shaq’s Wrestling History
While some may see Shaq’s addition as unexpected, he does have history in the ring. He first appeared in WWE back in 2009 to host an episode of Monday Night RAW, later competing in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania 32. His in-game trons for WWE 2K25 are based on that WrestleMania appearance.
Outside of WWE, Shaq has also stepped into an AEW ring, most notably facing Cody Rhodes in a tag match that ended with Cody sending him crashing through a table on the outside.
Shaq’s Gaming Legacy
Shaq is no stranger to video games, having featured in nearly 100 titles since his debut in NBA Jam back in 1993. He even launched his own fighting game, Shaq Fu, in 1994, followed by the mobile brawlers Shaqdown and Shaqdown 2, which cheekily featured a logo reminiscent of WWE’s SmackDown! branding.
This isn’t his first step into combat sports gaming either — Shaq also appeared as a celebrity fighter in THQ’s UFC Undisputed series.
