So earlier in the week a member of this forum made a poor argument that the only way you contribute on this site is by making either caws and/or mods, my question is what do you consider contributing?

For me you contribute by making worthwhile topics and posting comments, the only topics for me that don't contribute to the site are topics that just to promote the topic makers YouTube channel and the only kind of posts that don't contribute to the site are the unnecessary dickhead responses and meaningless comments (e.g "looks good bro.......")

If you have created something, and you post it in the right sub-forum, I think you contribute by sharing it. I like watching YouTube videos and I also like watching the videos of people on this site because they are a part of the same community as me and I think thats really cool. But if someone has honestly very bad videos and they make a new topic for each video then I think it crosses some line. One video once in a while is alright, and especially if its something different from last time.

I also think making topics in General Chat that can get discussions going (like this one), is contributing because you get people to talk about something that everyone who takes part in, finds interesting in one way or another.

I mean it's kinda basic, don't make several threads around the same topic, don't spam several topics a day, and if you have created something relevant, share it! These are just my opinions as it would go without saying.

One man's trash is another man's treasure. That's why people should be free to like what they want to like, and deem whatever they see fit as a good contribution - without limit or restriction.

A forum by definition is a platform for people to give views, opinions, creations etc. It thrives on these things, but also depends on others to give input. As such anything, even a shitty creation that nobody likes or cares about is contribution, just as much so as a topic that creates discussion, be it about current affairs, something a member finds fun/funny or a serious matter. It's all relevant and if it then spawns many replies, even better! 

 

The downfall is if you keep putting shit in, you'll keep getting shit back, and you'll not feel rewarded for it, aka the YouTube video topics you reference. If the quality is good, that's fine. If the quality is poor, and people tell you this, then either try to improve off their advice (a contribution) or look for a different outlet to show your creativity!

Anyway contributing isn't only by creating caws and mods, contributing could be posting news of the game, posting news of the wrestling industry and creating good threads that actually make sense. What's not contributing is creating threads like jeff's onion or da bytching thread and stuff like that, some of those topics could actually be funny (like 10% of them, most are lame.) but creating a funny thread isn't really contributing, you're not helping out people in anyway when you create a thread like that especially when it has racism remarks like da bytching thread for example. So yeah contribuing isn't everything beside youtube videos by people who come here to post them only.

I'm fairly sure you've suggested a few times that the likes of joey never contribute, when, especially if you look in the sport section, he has given a lot, yes there has been arguements too, but hishis views on united his discussions on transfers, his updates on scores and his retorts to other peoples views can be constructive, conversational or funny. Please try to Google that as well and tell me I'm uninformed of the term by insulting whatever intelligence I might have among other things. You are the search engine specialist after all. At the end of the say, I can lay to claim that I attend a highly decorated university and hold a steady job so something still checks out.

I don’t know why there’s a reason to use terms like “jumping to conculssions” (that’s conclusions with a singular s and not plural). Please don’t come with the excuse of how English isn’t your first language. There is good reason to believe your illogicality has made you erratic to your own bullshit. This reminds me of the time I was in Bangkok. (You might need to Google where that is by the way.) I know I can say that you are for all intents and purposes a child prodigy. I know you’ve helped me numerous times in the past because you are adept at your field. I made a real insightful post about that a couple of months back. I might need to dig for it. Just know it's using the term out of context. Its synonym is "negrophobia". A proper term would be "prejudiced". But, in all fairness, it could have to do with different regions of the world approaching to the word differently. Its founding roots happens to be during the enslavement of Africans in America deriving from "racialist". While the word "racism" might be a reference here to "classism" (You see how that's not a word?), it's the word "racist" that has its association to "racialist" and thus the bigotry towards Africans during enslavement or apartheid in South Africa.

See, that's my point. When you guys have nothing to say you try to change the whole point and talk to me about my grammar or english language. I really hope you stop trying to act smart because whatever you said in arabic is wrong, you didn't spell it correctly when trying to convert it to english, (might wanna google it first next time before embarrassing yourself) because it's JazakAllah not Jazekallah, first of all you replaced the a by an e and didn't capitalize Allah which is god in arabic, as far as I know gods are capitalized in English. So just like I misspelled on my second language you did right now on your probably 19th lnaguage since you speak a lot of languages.

Also again, trying to bring out the conflict in my country and using racism against me isn't really a strong point, because it has nothing to do with what we're talking about and it shows how weak you're that you're bringing up any point to try and insult me with, also just for your knowledge the whole Russian airstrike thing was planned between Syria and Russia, Russia stands with Al Assad and Al Assad is actually loved by the Syrian Citezens, Syrian citizens are actually happy that Russia is getting involved and helping out take ISIS. One more thing you don't know, I don't really care who rules Syria or what happens over there as long as nobody is getting killed by ISIS, I lived out of Syria the most of my life and I only lived there like 4 years.

Also I know where Bangkok is, I travelled a lot in my life and I am pretty sure that I know over 85% of the countries. I visited all the continents at least once except for South America.

Have you ever been to Syria? No, I've been to Syria and interacted with Syrians, at least 90% of the Syrians I interacted with said that they actually believe that Al Assad is the best leader for Syria, Believing everything the media says is the worst thing to do, also to inform you ALL the arabian media was against Al Assad, it was only the Syrian media that is actually with him. Also just because I don't care who rules Syria dosen't mean I don't have national pride or ashamed of my country, like I told you before I lived most of my life out of Syria, it's just like you being form the United States and growing up somewhere else, you'd probably feel more interactive in the country you grew up in.
